Thavriol nods agreement. "Me to, but maybe I can sense them before we get too close," he continues down the corridor, moving cautiously, all senses alert.
Nolla frowns at her companions. "The ones that came from that direction were the ones we chased back the way they came from." She points out. "I would think that way would be likely to be having them waiting for us." She turns and nods back to the South. "We stopped them before they could go that way, so I would think it the safer place to look first."
(OOC - just to clarify, there was one that ran from your last encounter to the northern tunnel and you left it to continue on. The other died in the tunnel when it tried to run before being killed by the neogi under suggestion and your group. So you're heading south?)
(Nolla is for South, others were talking of the Northern one, but I am wondering if they forgot the neogi ran that way.)
(OOC - yeah, that's why I put that clarification in, just in case. I know I lose track of happenings in PbP sometimes, just with the nature of the pace. I'll give it a little bit before moving on to wait for the others to respond as well.)
The group follows the tracks down the secondary tunnel though the tracks eventually disappear as the tunnel floor is less dirt and mud, and now more rock and sediment. Luckily, this tunnel doesn't get smaller and tighter, and you all enjoy the freedom of movement in this 10ft wide tunnel after your previous venture. After a few hundred feet, the tunnel opens up into a large cavernous expanse. Your light, and even those with dark vision, cannot see fully across the space. From where you stand, the 20-30ft wide path stretches to your left and right, hugging the wall. The edge of the path drops off into the open expanse where you can see spots of light dotted about this cavern and you can hear echoes bouncing about. Those that can understand deep speech and undercommon, as well as common, catch snippets of speech echoing about the space, though you can't make out exactly what is said.
"Well we found something." Nolla says wtih a glance at the expanse below them. "Want to go right or left here?" She nods towards the two paths. As she waits for an answer she checks both paths to see if one looks more well-traveled than the other.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Thavriol whispers, "Let me see what Tyr will tell me, first." The half-elf paladin moves quietly to the edge of the drop off then prays to Tyr to show him any evil, or good, in the area.
Stealth: 23
Divine Sense: As an action, you can detect good and evil. Until the end of your next turn, you can sense anything affected by the hallow spell or know the location of any celestial, fiend, undead within 60 ft. that is not behind total cover. You can use this feature 5 times per long res
Nolla looks in either direction for tracks or a sign as to which direction they should go, though with the rock here, it's hard to gain any hint of tracks to follow. Samael's search for traps and unsteady footings on the paths returns no findings and they both appear safe at this point. Though you can both ascertain that the left path has a slight incline to it, while the right seems to head down at a similar gradient.
As they search however, Thavriol creeps across to the edge to sneak a look down into the cavern. Nothing pings on his divine sense, however as he searches the darkness he knocks a rock, about the size of a fist, that clacks, taps, and cracks against the stone as it travels down into the darkness below. As the sound echoes about, the speech you all heard dies down for a moment and nothing but the rock falling against the rocky surfaces below can be heard. But after a moment, the echoing speech returns, perhaps just a little quieter than before, as the sound is seemingly dismissed.
Thavriol returns to his companions with a sheepish look. "Sorry, 'bout that. Um...Tyr did not tell me of anything particularly evil, or good, nearby. Let's go whatever way you all think best."
"South you think?" Nolla asks, glancing around. "The other is the way they were coming from, should we find out where they were headed?"
"I think we should try to see where they came from. The neogi probably have a force lined up to attack us down the way they went."
"it's what I'd do at any rate."
Thavriol nods agreement. "Me to, but maybe I can sense them before we get too close," he continues down the corridor, moving cautiously, all senses alert.

"Huh. I must have been confused, all these caves look the same to me. I'll defer to your wisdom in this case, Nolla."
"whatever"
(Hey DM, I think we've all agreed to go with the way Nolla suggested- unless I'm missing something?)
