Stormraider Keep (A M.E.T.A.L. Campaign)

OCC : Welcome back, timing actually worked for me, I had family stuff to deal with for a couple days anyway. I'll update this in a bit as well.

"Flynt, if you will check on Elyria, I will return to my post, hopefully in time to execute our original plan to trap the hag in the canyon."

(OOC Is it possible for Aurelius to get back and set up in time?)

(Aurelius should be able to get back. Whether he really hides himself well though depends on the rolls. Or others getting back to help.)

Aurelius will return as quickly as he can to his former position, and attempt to obscure himself as best he is able.

Stealth 11

Aurelius makes it back to the spot and does an amazing job of hiding himself in his shiny armor at the spot he was at before. (At least he feels pretty good about it.)

Yoë meets up with Flynt and heads back towards where Elyria had been earlier. "I'm sure she was hiding over here somewhere. Come out Elyria! It's all clear!" Then realizing how loud she's being she covers her mouth. "Woops."

There is no immediate sign of the elf, just the bodies of the satyr's.  You find the two on this side of the canyon and think you can make out two on the other. 

And the you see her hurrying back towards you.  Her air elemental moves the body of yet another satyr out of the canyon and puts it well of the path in the brush.  

Soon Elyria joins up with Flynt and Yoë.

(Wanted to move things along. If Flynt wished to do something else let me know.)

"Well, it seems my friend here was too much for them." Elyria says quickly to Flynt an Yoë, nodding to the Air Elemental following her, carrying the last Satyr Scout. "I suppose we should get into position again. It's probably not long now until Lady Leilatha is coming with her close escort." Elyria then tries to hide well at the spot she originally used, the Air Elemental staying hidden too hopefully. 

(Stealth, helped by Yoë perhaps: 25 + Guidance: 2 Air Elemental stealth: 24 + Guidance: 1 )

Flynt transforms back into his normal form. The owl shape morphing and crackling as it takes the shape of the their companion. A bit out of breath and badly wounded Flynt speaks out through strained teeth. "I'm not sure we can continue this endeavor." He winces as he touches the broken rib caused by the satyrs horn. "That fight was more dificult than expected. We've expended a good amount of our offensive weapons and I fear that since we are not at or near full strength we will not prevail. Especially considering that which is probably traveling with her. I purpose we retreat and head for her castle. We get Rakeshi and find another way to destroy the hag. Now if you would be so kind Elyria, could you fly across and retrieve my rope and any bolts you can find?"

OCC: Flynt was too wounded to be much help so his actions were perfect. You don't have to RP getting Flynt stuff but I wanted it put down that he thought about retrieving it.

As Elyria sees the many wounds on Flynts body she hurries over to help him, laying her hand on his wounds to use her forest magic to heal him. "Gods, you really got a thrashing there Flynt. Let me see to that." She says with a warm smile. "Let's get you back in shape Flynt. I don't want to miss this opportunity. If Lady Leilatha realizes her scouts are missing she will  surely be more on her guard and strengthen the security around her. We must take this opportunity." She says with determination, letting her Air Elemental fetch Flynt's rope and then offer him a ride down to stay behind Aurelius in the coming fight.

(OOC: Elyria's player also thinks we really should take this opportunity, just say how much healing is needed, Aurelius has healing too I believe. :-)

Flynt allows the Druid to work her magic. When it's finished he agrees to continue with the plan and takes his position.

OCC: At 5 out of 52 so what ever you can give would be good. Didn't we have some healing potions lying around too?

(Yes, you should have got some potions from the harengon.)  

(Healing coming up 7 + 8 + 6 )

(That would be +21 hp, I think you should have a greater potion of healing too 4d4+4 and Flynt will be ready for another bout I hope :-)

(Aurelius would have used lay hands on Flynt for 15 hp before they parted ways)

As the combined healing magics wash over him Flynt remembers the healing position given by the harengons. He fishes about in a pouch and pulls out a vial of red swirling liquid. With a shrug of resolution he up ends the vial at his lips and allows the pleasant but strong elixer to coat his throat as it goes down. The warmth courses through his body and he feels even more envigorated.

OCC: perfect! Exactly 2 more than needed. Back to full.

With all of Flynt's belongings recovered. he and Elyria are ready to head back towards the ambush spot as well. They should still be able to get back at least 15 minutes ahead of Lady Leilatha's group.  

As you arrive back you both can also note that Aurelius is not all that well hidden.  With everyone's help checking out his position he can try to hide himself better.  (Stealth - Triple advantage - 3 rolls keep best - this time as time is slightly more pressing than last time.) 

(OOC - So the plan was Aurelius bringing down the rocks, blocking the passage and isolating Leilatha as much as possible.  Flynt would be on the top/left side at top of the canyon. Elyria will start off on the other side and can help to fly in where needed.  Changes?) 

(OOC: Well Elyria can always fly down to the others if things go south but perhaps Flynt should stay closer to Aurelius this time. Just a thought. The Air elemental would stay out of sight from the canyon for now, not more than 90' away though. Elyria would be just above the boulders I think.)

Aurelius Stealth Rolls (18, 15, 17)

(Air Elemental is 1 hour, I'll presume half an hour passed before the encounter.)  

Aelric flies back to Elyria and signals to her that Lady Leilatha and her group are about 5 minutes away.  Not quite in sight yet but they will be very soon.  

Elyria sends Aelric down to Aurelius and then to Flynt to indicate they should be ready, before flying out of sight until the battle is over.

Feeling like his old self again, Flynt takes position on the opposite side of the canyon from Aurelius. He conceals himself by lying flat and peeking over the edge. He isn't concerned about being detected since it's better everyone focuses on him than Aurelius he just doesn't want to make it obvious. It's here he waits until Leilatha comes into view.
