Since Speedwell no longer actually knows where Agdon is, he is going to look around as carefully as he can in the moment. He's going to attempt to track Agdon's steps and figure out where he went.
Unfortunately, Favored Enemy doesn't come into play here! :'( But, we'll make the check anyway, because I kind of feel like a Ranger would revert back to what he knows if his quarry were to leave his line of sight: Hunting and Tracking.
Inif moves cautiously across the remaining causeway, steps into the boat and drops his staff and picks up the pole. He pushes off to close the distances with his companions. "This way friends!"
20': First 10' counts as 20' (difficult terrain to avoid weak areas) pick up skiff poll and push off 20': Move boat. I outlined the previous squares in the map, so you can confirm the movement.
Seeing some of the party look and listen for his location carefully, Agdon is careful to move a bit just to keep his location slightly hidden, while he continues to point his crossbow up at the faerie with a bit of a smirk and a wave, almost saying 'be gone'.
It appears most are planning to retreat? If so, we don't need to do this all action by action to get to the boat, as he seems ok with letting you leave at the moment. If so, go ahead and say everyone can get on the boat and push off. Though if I'm wrong and someone wants to try something different let me know and we can go with that too~
Inif, humble of their current disadvantage, takes the retreat with ease. He pushes off from the causeway when his companions are aboard. He pushes out from the causeway to find a path around counter-clockwise.
He looks ahead to small hut on the island in the lake and traverse the bog. "Please Speedwell, guide me if I go astray."
Looking at the large map, I assume we found Agdon on the southern side.
Perception: [Tooltip Not Found]; Survival: 14. Perception (for reals): 16
After they party put some distance from the causeway, he offers encouragement. "We learned much about this Agdon, so not all retreats come at a loss. Let's find safe harbor to rest and learn the way to downfall."
Autumnleaf, remaining in the air for a time after they began to move away from the Brigands Tollway, finally allows herself to slump to the floor of the boat, curling up and wrapping her arms around her knees.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
If you think my puns are bad, I'll remind you, my profile pic says otherwise.
Karib, too, slumps to the deck. After glaring one last time back to the dock, he grins. "Well, we got a boat, at least." When the large tree(?) is finally between him and the scene of their near-defeat, he turns to face the prow, watching the shoreline ahead.
Leaving behind Agdon on the docks, who Autumnleaf sees waving at them as they go, the party begins to float with the current past the giant stump to their west. As they pass they see a few more brigands up top in different camps who seem to be keeping lookout, and just watch as they pass. Finally taking a breath Karib remembers what Inif said about his potion being taken, and finds his own pack a bit lighter as well.
The current soon leads the party into a smaller river area headed westwards, and then north, then east, then north again, and so on, snaking it's way through the strange world in which they find themselves. Taking this time to rest as the party looks over the edge of the boat they are surprised to not see their own reflections in the water, but instead something else.
Please roll a d8 to see what you see in the water. Also, what would you like to do? What are you looking for while you float down the lazy, meandering, stream, getting some rest?
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Inif D8: 5
Inif looks out for other brigands while keeping to the outside of the tollway. "Let's head to Downfall, but find a quiet location to tend these burns and rest our spirits." Inif draws forth the last of his Ki into his palm. The energy flows into the vicious brand on his neck, restructuring life.
As you float along the river you each look down and instead of your own reflection, see the reflection of something else. It's clearly not actually in the water, instead being almost as if looking through a mirror to elsewhere.
Karib sees tall, thin figure wearing a pointy black hat and a hooded black cloak climbing a rickety staircase leading up to a large, ramshackle house built on stilts. As the figure approaches the house, their shadow seems to detach from their body, move across the walls of the house, and crawl through an open window.
Speedwell notices a headless, child-sized scarecrow with metal lobster claws for hands as he tries on some new heads, including an upside-down wooden bucket and a withered head of cabbage. It decides on a large gourd.
Autumnleaf catches sight of two merrow swimming past each other in murky water.
Inif spots a satyr whistling to himself as he reclines in a metal cage that dangles off the end of a boom over a lake. ((I rolled on your sheet since this thread broke...))
Passing away from the tollway, and towards where you know Downfall to be, you pass under a broken section of the tall causeway and see through the fog a halfling dressed in what looks like homemade clothing holding a staff watching you as you pass. After giving you a good stare down he appears to hold a hand out in a beckoning gesture as he backs up, disappearing into the fog towards the wall of the causeway behind him.
Karibs stares at the water for a moment before pointing at what he sees in the water. "Did anyone else see that? It wasn't me, and...the shadow went in a window." He rubs his eyes and his arm sags to his side. "By Gond, I need some rest! I'm seeing things now."

Karib growls angrily, but moves toward the boat cautiously, and forgoes any pretense at attack in an effort to escape.
Movement: Safe speed, but using dash, so 30'(?)
