Raqisat is a bit more rushed when it comes to boarding the Golden Empress. He stays cautious watching the skies and their surroundings but he can't help wonder if the place has a reputation based more on the scary sounds and bad odors rather than really being exceedingly deadly. Oh, there's nasties around, alright... But Raqisat, so far, has found them to be no more predatory than your average jungle beasts. Which is to say, be on alert but you're not in constant peril...
The Golden Empress stops beneath the bridge and the gangplank is deployed to allow access.
Once all are aboard, the ship pulls back away from the dock, slowly turning while reversing/driving forward until it is oriented downstream again toward the sea.
[What do each of you do once aboard?]

Aubrey makes sure the rest of the team is aboard the Empress, gallantly giving Ms. Cosette a hand as she boards before stepping aboard himself, giving Mr. Faerondaerl a quick salute, telling him to ask Mr Howie to prepare a supper for the team. He then makes his way to the bridge and Captain Neck. "My sincere apologies Captain, our dealings with the locals turned out to be quite an adventure in itself and delayed us significantly. I am glad to say we are all more or less unharmed though. I hope you and the Empress have not had any unwanted attention while we were away?" He says with a polite smile, standing by Captain Neck and scanning ahead into the darkness with his superior darkvision. Meanwhile Furvus keeps and eye on things from above, ready to inform its master of any approching threats as the Empress makes its way downstream and out into the bay.
Once aboard the ship, Leelan would try to provide whatever help he can to the crew to make sure the ship gets out of the city faster. The gnome doesn’t want to linger any longer than he needs to in this city in the nighttime.
Climbing about, Raqisat has no job or task to perform so he lingers on deck keeping his head up and his eyes open. He watches the direction they themselves came from in case they were followed but he also keeps an eye to the skies, on lookout for more Giant flying beasts.
It’s a nice ship and all, definitely more comfortable than the sewers and ruins they have explored so far, but he can’t help how often they will be able to retreat back to the ship once they really get into things. Poking at the outskirts is one thing, but once they are delving deep into the mysteries of the city it may prove impractical to spend most of the daylight either heading out from the ship or back to it…
But for now he watches and guards and looks forward to a comfortable bed. He tries not to think about if the itch under his skin, as if new fur were growing, is real or imaginary…
Grugga posts Zip and Zap on guard duty around the railing of the ship while he himself takes a seat in the mess. He keeps his armor on in case there's trouble before they get out into the bay, but works on Mending the frays in his armor from the fight. After knitting up a few slashes, he stops and worries over a wound he finds but apparently didn't feel in the heat of the battle. He pokes it tenderly and says to no one in particular, "does this look like a bite or a sword wound? It's pretty small, but it looks like a sword wound, right?"
After convincing himself that it's surely noting to be worried about - after all how could their teeth punch through his chain sleeves? - he bandages it and then pulls the chalky blue crystal out of his bag to take a look at it... just look at it, then put it away.
Upon first sounds of Cosette’s boots hitting the deck, Bruno comes barreling over and comes skidding to a halt at her side, bumping into her leg. She greets him warmly, his tail wagging wildly in his excitement of her return. Next, the clip clop of the mastiff’s feet could be heard following Cos to the bridge. She’d participate in any briefing with Captain Neck and the crew. She was curious of any occurrences during their absence.
At one point Cosette would peek over to see if she could offer any insight to Grugga’s wound. However, the truth was, she probably couldn’t tell, and she was most likely out of view of him during his attack to be able to confirm one or the other.
Post briefing, Cos would send her loyal mastiff on a mission, then she’d slink off about the ship. She’d find somewhere quiet and a bit secluded to perch herself. She’d take out her newly found compass.
Thumpthumpthumpthumpthump...
When Raqisat looks, sitting like the bestest boy, the brindled Mastiff is at his feet. There was a pile of drool piling on his boots. The moment his eyes meet Bruno's, the dog leaps up onto Raqisat in excitement and starts slathering him in slobbery licks.

The crew of the Golden Empress is able to report no misadventures while you were ashore. They retreated to the bay after dropping you off, and again after you failed to return to the rendezvous point at sunset. They waste no time turning the ship around and starting the trek back out to open water.
Navigating the narrow river, especially near the collapsed lower bridge, is a different animal in the dark. Mr. Faerondaerl is stationed near the prow of the ship with a wildly bright lantern somehow connected to the ship's power system. He is shining it into the water ahead and calling out directions to Captain Neck up on the bridge.
Leelan finds a perch next to Mr. Faerondaerl, able to provide a second set of eyes as they watch for hidden hazards ahead.
Raqisat is nearby, scanning the skies and shoreline for danger while trying to keep the lanterns from rendering him night-blind. Bruno incessantly licks at his hand as though lubricating it to swallow.
Aubreyjoins Captain Neck on the bridge, observing how she operates his the ship while simultaneously keeping a wary eye on the skies with the help of his familiar.
Rohuzaralso finds himself on the top deck. This affords him the best view of the city streets lining the river.
Gruggasits in the mess. He can hear the sound of Mr. Howie laboring in the kitchens as he examines his crystal.
Gruggadiscovers something gut wrenching. Despite his best efforts to protect it, the enormous blue crystal has fractured, perhaps during their battle with the wererats. There is now one large piece (still as large or larger than any sample he has ever witnessed) as well as two smaller pieces, roughly equal in size. In addition, there is an abundance of chalky, whitish blue powder.
Cosettetakes a quiet place on the second deck, outside her state room. Leaning on the railing, she can listen to the sounds of the ship and those of her companions and crew.

As the Golden Empress nears the lower bridge, those in the front of the ship as well as Aubrey spot something in the air just above the surface of the water ahead. Large, feathered wings are just barely visible in the light of the front-facing lantern as a creature approaches, clearly making a beeline for the ship.
Up on the top deck, Aubreynotices something else. From behind the ship he can hear something... another set of flapping wings. A second creature is approaching from above and behind.

With the incoming threat in sight, Leelan calmly turns to Mr. Faerondaerl.
"Mr. Faerondaerl, I would invite you to evacuate the bridge of the ship and return to your quarters for safety. We will advise once it is safe to come out."
He then turns to Raqisat, who’s the closest to him at the moment. "I hope you still have some fighting spirit left in you for today. This may get rough."
With that, he pulls out a pinch of powdered silver and mumbles a few arcane word around the fighter.
Rohuzar calls out to Aubrey: "Flyers, coming in fast. No vay to know how smart, so let us assume smart. Guard the essential bits, and keep eyes out for things trying to use the flyers as cover for concealment." He draws his silvered sword and places himself in position to guard the helm (I believe that's what I'm near).
Raqisat nods to Leelan. He's not exactly sure what they cast upon him but he assumed it was a good thing. "Best scram below deck," Raqisat says to Bruno, giving them a quick rub atop their head and absently also wiping their hand off upon their fur. "Bark up a storm, warn the others, eh?"
"I'm not the best at a distance," Raqisat admits once the dog runs off, drawing a pair of daggers as he does. "But hopefully not useless..." Raqisat ducks and looks for something to hide behind, a box of cargo or the rail or something he can glance around and keep an eye on the approaching creature. (Stealth needed? 24)

Noticing not only the feathered adversary approaching from the front but also another flyer coming up astern, the young noble nods at Rohuzar, then calling out a warning in a firm voice to the rest of the team. "Be adviced, winged attacker from the front and another one coming in fast from astern." Aubrey then turns to Captain Neck. "Make a full stop and keep your head down captain, this will be dealt with swiftly."He says in a calm confident voice. He then moves quickly out beside Rohuzar and gets into cover behind the railing, ready to peek out and blast the feathered attacker coming in from the front.
