Two disgusting, demonic creatures loom into view. They resemble giant hybrids of humanoid and vulture, their gnarled, bestial bodies and broad wings stinking of offal and worse. Neither lands on the Golden Empress, rather they hover nearby, eyeing the ship and its occupants with covetous, hungry eyes. All of you feel in your minds, rather than hear with your ears, the greedy voices....
Mine!
Mine!
Mine!
Captain Neck grimaces as the throws a level and the sound of the engines grow quiet. "We can't just stop for long. The current is still taking us downriver and the collapsed bridge isn't far ahead. I will need to be able to maneuver. Your men will need to wrap this up fast!"
While Cosetteis hiding in the shadows on the second deck, Raqisat finds his own hiding place under the stairs and Aubreyducks below the upper railing. [All three start this round hidden.] Grugga, I need a stealth check if you want to remain hidden.
The Vrock at the front of the ship lazily raises a wing to turn out of the path of Grugga'sexploding crystal. It flaps both its wings to maintain its distance 10' above the lower deck. It locks its eyes on Leelan, ignoring the two constructs for now.
The Vrock at the back of the ship hovers at the level of the top deck, just off the starboard side. It seems to grin at Rohuzar, inviting him to approach.
[Vrock tokens on the map are clear on the level of the ship equal to their vertical position, slightly greyed out on other levels.]

Rohuzar'sfirst strike fails to connect, but his second finds its target, slashing the demonic bird and sending feathers and black blood down to the river below.
Rohuzar:
While you definitely hit the monster, your silvered sword doesn't appear to have done as much damage as you would have expected. Whereas it cut cleanly through the wererats just hours ago, this creature seems resistant to the attacks.
The creature flies just overtop of Rohuzar(without leaving his reach or inviting an AOO) flying 5' above the middle of the ship's top deck. It emits a horrifying screech that Rohuzarmust try to endure. Rohuzar must succeed on a DC 14 Constitution saving throw or be stunned until the end of the Vrock's next turn.
The other Vrock near the front of the ship cocks its head to look at Raqisat, the latter having given up his hidden position in favor of a quip. It flies forward until it is above Leelan'sposition... and then shakes itself and its dark feathers. That foul, acrid stench from earlier is back... now overpowering. A 15-foot-radius cloud of toxic spores extends out from the vrock. The spores spread around corners. Leelan, Raqisat and Grugga must each succeed on a DC 14 Constitution saving throw or become poisoned. While poisoned in this way, a target takes 3 poison damage at the start of each of its turns. A target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.
The Vrock then flaps back to its original position, 10' above the lower deck and just off the starboard side. As it moves away, Raqisat can take an AOO if he has his whip equipped (10' reach), if he chooses to.
Everyone else is up, then Rohuzar to start the next round before the Vrocks go again.

The smell released by the creature makes Leelan feel nauseous and ill. Being out in the open, he tries to look for a more advantageous position. He runs to the barrel south of his position, behind Grugga’s constructs. He then conjure an icy arrow that he attempts to shoot at the creature despite his condition.
Action: ray of frost (if hit, target’s movement speed is reduced by 10 feet) Attack: 20 Damage: 6
He then focuses his senses on the monster, looking for weak points to exploit.
Bonus action: Slayer’s Prey
As a bonus action, you designate one creature you can see within 60 feet of you as the target of this feature. The first time each turn that you hit that target with a weapon attack, it takes an extra 1d6 damage from the weapon.
This benefit lasts until you finish a short or long rest. It ends early if you designate a different creature.
The noxious wave washes over Grugga and the Orc instantly begins retching. He drops to his knees for a moment, eyes watering and nose running, before he manages to momentarily compose himself. He rushes out to the deck, ordering Zap to his side. ((let's say, Grugga will be 4 squares left of where Zap is now, and Zap will be one square to the right of him.)) Grugga uses what little breath he can muster to issue a challenge to the beast, "Here beast! Here and die!"
Grugga will use his action to hold an attack.
Attack: 15

Zap will use its Deflect Attack reaction to impose disadvantage on an attack against Grugga IF the Vrock is within 5 feet of Zap. Zap will use its action to dodge.
Grugga takes 3 poison damage
Con save at end of turn: 16 (rolled in game log)
After throwing down the gage on the bird monster, Grugga promptly vomits onto the ship deck and he looks much better.
No opportunity attack for Raqisat as he was intended to hidden with two daggers not realizing his voice would be enough to give his location away... Regardless, he is distracted by his watering eyes and his lunch's sudden decision to try to mount a comeback and escape one way or another. He is too distracted to be that quick on the attack. But he does manage to step out into the open and up into range of the creature before doing his best to launch a couple of daggers at it. ((3 poison Dam taken to start round...))
Dagger 1: 17 or 24 to hit and 4 damage
Bonus Action Dagger: 23 or 24 to hit and 7 damage
The daggers go better than Raqisat expects, considering the wave of ick which washed over him. As he draws a whip and a dagger to be prepared for whatever comes next he also tries to draw upon his own fortitude to fight back the feeling...((End of round Con Save... Also an 8))
Aubreyunleashes twin beams of force at the Vrock threatening Rohuzar. One of the beams just misses, while the other slams into the bird-fiend, sending feathers flying.
Leelanhits the Vrock at the front of the ship with his ray of frost, an icy sheen forming over the demon's wings.
Both of Raqisat's daggers connect.
Raqisat:
You're sure you hit the monster, but it barely reacted to the daggers. While Leelan's magic seemed effective, the creature appears to be resistant to more mundane attacks.
