"That might be a wiser course of action, Mr. Raqisat.", comments the gnome. "I’m not entirely convinced we have the means to counter such a powerful spell. Not to mention a possible creature with petrification capabilities. The rest of the Universitae could be worth exploring yet.", suggests Leelan.
"No, I'm certain it was you who made that suggestion, but thank you though."The young noble says to Raqisat with a quick grin. "Let us hope we will all resist the enchantment this time and those who don't will need to be drawn or pushed outside to try to resist again. Hand me a rope and I will go in first this time." He continues in a more serious tone, ready to slowly proceed inside once tied, also ordering Furvus to watch the perimeter from outside to warn the team of any threats following them inside the House of Glass and Mirrors.
Cosette would fall silent to mask her disappointment that there wasn't much they could do to assist the petrified woman. She'd make a silent promise to herself to return when she does find or have the means of releasing her from her stone prison. Bonus points if she could figure out what caused the petrification in the first place.
Listening to the boys discussions Cos couldn't make out if they were trying Raq's plan or going somewhere else to explore.
The party once again enters the gloomy halls of the House of Glass and Mirrors.
Raqisat and Gruggamust make WIS saves.
Furvus remains outside.

[Leelan, detect magic would have run out while Grugga was still reassembling the petrified elf. Was there something he wanted to examine before that expired? He would have had a little time to do so.]
It takes several tries, with Raqisat and Gruggaentering the building, falling into a passive malaise, having to be dragged outside and then repeating the process. Eventually, after another 10 minutes, both of the successfully resist the strange magics at work here.
When the party enters together for the last/first time, they all feel a sense as though they are submerging in a lake of murky water... but then their minds reject the subtle influence of the illusion and they find themselves inside a long, rather mundane looking hallway. Doors and magical torches line the hallway at regular intervals, and another hall intersects at the middle point, apparently connecting the large dome structure, the narrow tower, and this hall. At the distant end of the hall you see another vestibule and doorway like the one you just entered.

(Leelan would have tried to see if there was any fluctuations in the whirling mass of arcane energy causing the illusion that might indicate the source of the effect. More specifically, does the party triggering the illusion effect influence the magic in any way that might help reveal its origin?)
Raqisat complains about feeling like a yo-yo who that is way too high... But only for a moment before being yanked back up. "I should at least get to enjoy it a bit first..." But once he finally makes it through successfully he is eager to throw one end of the rope back to the others and have them come in. He steadily pulls them through the spellified area so that even if they stop walking he ensures they keep making progress and do not get stuck.
Once everyone is through he chimes up with a disquieting thought: "What if the spell area grows and grabs us all in the middle of this place?" Still, one has to take chances. If he wanted to play it safe he would have stayed in the Empire and grown up in the lap of ease and comfort...
"What we checking out first?" he asks, ready to continue on.
After 10 brain-mushing minutes of acclimating to strong illusion magics, Grugga finally resists the century-old magic and pushes his way into the hall without stupefying in the entryway. With a hand to his head, he wobbles down the hallway after the others. "Hopefully it's over now. If we want to be a bit safer, perhaps we could tie a note to Furvus' leg and leave him outside the college so he can get help from the boat if we all freeze again."
"The end of this hallway leads out, right? So through the middle hall, I think." As they make their way to the middle hall, Grugga runs keeps his hand pressed against the wall, a solid surface to anchor himself in the house of illusions.
"I sincerely hope any other mind affecting illusions in here will not catch all of us at the same time. If this should happen again to one or more of us I suggest the rest of us will patiently withdraw from the area until everyone is back to normal. If we would be so unlucky that all of us will be trapped at the exact same time I am certain Furvus is capable enough to somehow get Captain Neck here to rescue us." The young noble says, seeming fairly confident in spite of the recent problems. "Our objective here is to find whoever entered here recently, but regarding in which order we should explore the House of Glass and Mirrors I would leave that to you as our front man Raqisat." He continues with a polite and appreciative smile to the anthropologist.
With a nod Raqisat sets off leading the group down the hall to the midway point, assuming no problems. Once there he will turn left and check out the larger domed area first...
While Gruggawas piecing the statue back together you took some time to study the eddies and currents in the pool of illusion magic permeating the interior of the building.
The magic seems to be 'thickest' near the middle of the building, where the halls intersect. Likewise, it is 'thickest' the lower you get, like it is flowing up from the floor.
The party moves down the hallway through the flickering light of illusory torches.
Passing one of the closed doors, a muffled sound can be heard. It is a voice, speaking in a dull monotone, but the words can't quite be made out.
Reaching the intersecting halls, to your right you see a short hallway that opens up into the base of the narrow tower you saw from outside. A curved staircase hugs the outer wall, leading to the upper floors. In the middle of the tower base, there is a pit 15' across. It descends down a great distance, 100' at least, where something is burning and smoldering. It looks like simmering magma or red-hot coals. There is no way down; no hand holds or steps, just smoothly cut stone blocks.
To your left, a slightly longer hallway leads to a set of closed double doors. These are more elaborately carved than the other doors in the building and a plaque near the ceiling reads 'Aruspic Memoran Testudine di Visorum Caelestium.'
Old Imperial:
'This dome of heavenly visions stands in memory of those wizards who came before us.'

Well Raqisat cannot help but fish out a gold coin, give it a quick kiss and the flip it up and away into the pit... He watches it twinkle in the light, flipping side over side up into the air until gravity takes over and starts dragging it down the depth of the pit. Raqisat watches but also listens, trying to track it all the way down.
"Garbage disposal, you think?" he asks of the others.
Aubrey, Leelanand Raqisat[passive perceptions 14 or greater]immediately notice the sound. They see the coin fall down towards the burning pile before losing sight of it in the reddish glow. But they hear a 'tink-tink - - - tink-tink-tink - tink - tink-tink - - - - tink-tink-tink-tink....' and then the sound of the coin landing, spinning briefly, and coming to a rest. As their brains wrestle with the inconsistency of their senses, the deep pit and fire melt away, revealing a narrow spiral staircase leading down into gloom. Unlike the deep pit, this appears to only drop 30' or 40' before ending.
Once they point this out, Grugga and Cosetteare likewise able to pierce the illusion.

Aubrey would have stopped to listen at the door with the muffled voice. Perception: 21
"This dome of heavenly visions stands in memory of those wizards who came before us."The young noble reverently reads to the others, standing in front of the plaque above the double doors. He would then join Raqisat and the others by the pit, realizing that it is actually a narrow spiral staircase leading down. "I suppose we should expect many more illusions here."
Cosette blinks as well. Surprised, maybe even a little impressed, but she wouldn't admit it. Though, Cos was starting to see a pattern to this place so to speak, which Aubrey points out. One couldn't exactly trust their eyes, or other senses completely. She'd follow along.

Raqisat blinks.
Then blinks again and scratches his head. "Huh. Was not expecting that..."
He then glances left and right to the others and adds "The coin is mine!" and then begins to, cautiously, climb down the staircase.
