With the warrior so close to him, Mordekai's deadly blasts seem slightly off.  Each one deflects off of the gith's armor, sending magic zaps blasting off to strike the stone of the walls or floor. 

Kari!

 Even in her rage Kari knows that now is not the time to abandon all caution, so she turns to one of the gith (9) and makes a couple of quick attacks then attempts to grab them by the neck and use them for cover from a couple of the others

Attack: 15 Damage: 12 Slashing, 3 Rage

Bonus Action Pole Attack: 29 Damage: 9 Bludgeoning, 3 Rage

Extra Attack, Grapple: Athletics: 22, if successful use whatever movement is needed to maneuver the gith into cover from gith 4 and 10

Kari's long weapon slashes out twice at the nearby Gith, hitting her with two vicious blows. The while she's still reeling from those blows, Kari reaches out, grabbing the warrior by the neck, and twists her around, using her as a human shield, twisting her into place between the other Gith who growl and advance. 

The Gith, though doing minimal damage to many of the group continue swinging their heavy blades, knowing they'll score hits if they keep trying. The gith at the end of the hall steps forward, appearing in the spot over the body of the Gith near Mal and swings at her twice...

Attack on Mal: 11 Damage: 12 + 2 psychic damage.

Attack on Mal: 5 Damage: 12 + 7 psychic damage.

The two battling Kurik continue cleaving at him...

Attack on Kurik: 15 Damage: 4 + 3 psychic damage.

Attack on Kurik: 11 Damage: 6 + 4 psychic damage.

Attack on Kurik: 8 Damage: 9 + 6 psychic damage.

Attack on Kurik: 21 Damage: 8 + 10 psychic damage.

The one in front of Zendrak, swings at him some more....

Meanwhile, one of the Gith fighting Kari takes a swipe at her....

And then the one battling her tries to break her hold on him and escape.  Kari athletics check vs  21.

Zendrak takes a step forward, his huge blade vibrating with energy as he strikes back...

Attack on Gith8: 22 Damage: 12 + 13 force damage.

Meanwhile, the Gith warrior at the end of the hall with no target steps forward and appears next to Mal, swinging at her. 

Attack on Mal: 6 Damage: 7 + 4 psychic damage

Attack on Mal: 16 Damage: 11 + 8 psychic damage

While the warrior in front of Mordekai, bolstered by Mordekai's errant blasts, swings at him....

Zendrak takes a nasty blow, but then strikes back, and his second blow drops the Gith in front of him, and he glances around with crackling eyes looking for his next target.....

The last Gith fighting Kari swings uselessly towards her as she pivots her 'human' shield back and forth in front of her.

(OOPS: Mordekai.  I need to add +5 to both those attacks.  So AC 19 and AC 9.)

Kari, Kurik, Mal and Mordekai are up!

Mordekai takes 16 damage and Misty Escapes (60ft teleport) down the corridor to just the other side of the dead dragon.

Then he'll cast Darkness on himself and send some Bardic Inspiration (d8) to Mal.

Mal laughs again, "It would be easier for you all to just drop your swords than continue to attack, as all that is doing is just marking you for the next ones to die, like this poor soul here." She says as she swings her crossbow around again and fires at the Gith that just attacked her.

With one hand occupied Kari takes an opportunity in the fight to headbutt the gith that she has grappled, as there's no better foe than the one in your hands!

Kurik continued to side step and swipe attacks away.  His flaming sword a whirl of light as he flashed it about.  This time, rather than going for a big swing he took two quick and measured attacks against the nearest foes.

Attack nearest one, if enemy drops after first attack, attack 2nd nearest.  Move as needed.

Attack: 28 Damage: 6 + 4 fire + 4 necrotic

Attack: 18 Damage: 7 + 4 fire + 4 necrotic

Free action: if one is slain by Kurik then Kurik will raise it as a specter under his control.

Kurik lays into one of the Gith warriors, his flaming blade splashing fire while leaving behind a deathly haze.  The warrior grunts from the blow, but the second well measured blow is deflected by the warriors own blade. 

Meanwhile Kari, already having slashed the Gith warrior two fearsome times, just smashes her head into the womans.  The nose is pulverized and the second blow breaks his orbital bone with a grinding crack.  The Gith's eyes roll backwards and her heavy body goes limp. 

Mal cackles at the new enemy in front of her, taunting him, but a moment later two feathered bolts slam into his chest....blood spraying out his back....and the gith warrior drops next to his dead ally. 

Meanwhile, Mordekai *bamf*'s away down the hallway, a protective layer of darkness springing up around him, in addition to having the dragon's carcass as cover.  He sees that to his left there is a passageway and an opening into another room where these warriors must have been. There are other passages and leading from there. 

The Gith meanwhile continue their fearsome, but so far minimally impactful attacks.....

Two Gith still face off against Kurik...

Attack on Kurik: 12 Damage: 6 + 7 psychic damage

Attack on Kurik: 8 Damage: 8 + 9 psychic damage

With her Gith body shield going limp in her arms, the warrior facing off with Kari seems emboldened, leaping to the attack.....

Zendrak turns to face the Gith that was battling Mordekai, and swings twice at it....

Attack: 19 Damage: 16 + 8 force damage.

Zendrak's blade sweeps twice, cutting down yet another Gith and leaving only 5 facing the group....slightly more even numbers.  

The Gith fighting Kari turns to Zendrak, seeing him cut down Gith after Gith, and takes a couple swipes at him.

Attack on Zendrak: 20 Damage: 10 + 2 psychic damage

Attack on Zendrak: 12 Damage: 7 + 5 psychic damage

Kari's spirits seem to leap to the defense of Zendrak, swarming around the warrior trying to fight him, and deflecting the blade away from him completely with their spirit bodies.

Kari, Mordekai, Mal and Kurik are all up again!

Kari screams in pain and rage, her focus narrowing to the two creatures left in front of her and Zendrak. With what might be the last of her strength she flings the limp body at one gith, grabs her glaive with both hands, and attacks the second gith.

Shove attack against Gith 4 (prone): Athletics: 26

Glaive attack on Gith 10: 26 Damage: 7 Slashing, 3 Rage

BA Pole attack on 10: 20 Damage: 7 Bludgeoning, 3 Rage

Reaction: If Zendarak takes more damage, reduce by 10 (Spirit Shield)

As another gith falls dead before her, Mal looks at her companions and sees how they are faring during this battle. Upon seeing the blood flowing freely down Kari's body from several deep wounds, Mal shifts her aim and fires at gith2.

Then she will further her attacks using her action surge, attacking gith10.

She will then use her last superiority dice to do a precision attack on gith2.

Kurik flinched as the blade cut him and he felt the psychic energy try to erode his mind too but his armor rippled at the intrusion.  His passenger buffering the assault.  Not pleased with such tricks, Kurik continued his assault against the Gith.

Mordekai will move to make sure he has a clean line of sight down the corridor, if he didn't already - even climbing onto the dead dragon if needed.

3 more Eldritch blasts come flying out of the darkness, targeting Gith 10 first of all.

And as a bonus action, Mordekai will cast Healing Word on Kari at 5th level for 18 hp. (Just realised it has a 60ft range)

A body is tossed at a Gith sending him toppling to the ground.  Bolts fly, blades swing, blasts of magic lance about.  But a moment later the groups enemies are all defeated.  Mordekai's blasts are enough to kill the last warrior as everyone unleashes the combined might of the party at the Gith warriors.  The only sound is a hazy, otherworldly groan as an indistinct form of a Gith rises from one of the dead next to Kurik...hover up and taking a position just behind his left shoulder. 

With the battle abruptly over, everything is strangely quiet for a moment. The clatter of armor, grunts of pain, yells of fury are all absent from the hallway and just the heavy breath of the group is left.  At least for the moment. The distant calls of numerous dragons can be heard echoing through the caves.  The dead bodies of the Gith lay scattering the floor of the hallway...most of them trickling blood across the smooth stone floor. 

Zendrak, his eyes still nothing but blue crackling energy, his muscles swollen with power, says, "I did not maintain my focus on the phylactery, and choose not to let my current swell of energy go for such a thing. Besides, we are in a system of caves and passages, it was up...and that way. Good enough for now."  He glances up towards the darkness at the end of the hallway, "Tiefling, is there a way forward that way?"
