Rolling his eyes again (it's an eye-rolling competition now between Badger and Macreadus), the gnome writes a series of questions and works through them with the ghost-face.
Did you die when the Summer Star activated? Are you aware that the Summer Star is now fixed and completed? Do you have any further purpose here at this cabin? Are you waiting for someone? Are you waiting for Copper Knobberknocker to return? Would you like for us to activate the Summer Star? Is there anywhere specific that you want it to be activated?
(Does anyone else have any questions for dead-Macreadus?)

Badger relays Kurik's questions, although the second one will take longer with yes/no questions, narrowing down numbers and periods.
If the answer to the first question is 'yes', Badger will ask Macreadus if he will prevent them from taking the star and activating it at a time and place of their choosing...

Mal moves her head back and forth between Badger and Kurik, then sighs and walks over to a chair and sits down. "Let me know when we have a plan to deal with the ghost. Until then I am going to take a nap." As she rests her head down on the her crossed arms on the table.
Badger sees the head responding to Kurik's questions.
Do you want us to use the spell here? YES.
How long will it last? It's flaming eyes roll backwards into its head in a frustrated manner.
Can I have some of your wine? It's flaming eyes seem to intensify. NO.
Badger begins attempting to narrow down how long it will last....but it only takes a couple questions to get the answer. The ghost believes it will be permanent.
Will he prevent you from taking the star and activating it at a time and place of your choosing? YES.

When Kari understands the answer to that last question she snorts out a humorous huff. He's a dead person that can't even make marks in the sand. What's he gonna do, stare at us? Oh, ask him about that wind, if he knows anything about the wind that can hurt people.
Badger relays Kari's two questions, and another of his own...
1. What are you gonna do, stare at us?
2. Do you know anything about a wind that can hurt people? Reading this question aloud sounds banal, so Badger modifies it: Do you know anything about an evil wind that hunts people?
3. Would it not be more charitable to activate the Star inside Bryn Shander or one of the other towns, rather than this remote cabin? Perhaps at the Shrine of Lathander, to do honor to the Morninglord... Or somewhere that will hinder the Frostmaiden...
Badger really doesn't want to activate it here, nor in Bryn Shander or one of the towns, but is simply trying to convince the ghost that any other option is better.

"Over the shire of the morning star... I like that. Seems fitting and probably would draw alot prayers from others. But... on the other hand, who knows if the frostmaiden may harass the area affected." Kurik says and stops to think. "I wonder, can another one be made? I mean, Badger added a third ring, maybe he could eventually make another. If so, better to test this one in a remote area incase it drops fire from the sky or something. Ya know, go too far the other direction in corresting the waether."
1. What are you gonna do, stare at us? It glares at you angrily.

3. Would it not be more charitable to activate the Star inside Bryn Shander or one of the other towns, rather than this remote cabin? Perhaps at the Shrine of Lathander, to do honor to the Morninglord... Or somewhere that will hinder the Frostmaiden. NO. It seems adamant.
Badger found enough to repair and add the third ring, but unfortunately the thing in the middle has much in common with a Mythallar of the ancient Netherese empire, and the book that Macreadus used to create it was burned up. Badger can't re-create it without more information.

He seems pretty set on us activating it here, I wonder what's so special about this place? She looks around at the crumbling shack, in the middle of nowhere, and can't seem to see anything interesting. At least it would be safe here, away from people and such.
Badger shrugs and says to the others: Oh well, easy come easy go. If it means not being haunted for the rest of my days, then we might as well turn it on.
If there are no objections, Badger will fire up the Summer Star.

Everyone takes a bit of a step back in the darkness of the tiny cabin, with only a dim fireplace flickering in the hearth. The flaming eyes of the ghost open wide and a look of ecstasy fills its face as Badger triggers the item.
There is no blinding flash of light, instead just a strange rush of steady wind that seems to burst from the thing and blow outwards through the room and through the very walls and then is gone. Badger has activated it, and the Summer star ceases to be magical in his hands and he loses attunement to it. The ghost...with a sigh....seems to simply evaporate.
It continues to be dark outside, but, the howling wind has stopped, as has the blowing snow. Taking a step outside onto the deck and looking around, the air is...cool...but no longer deathly cold. It feels close to zero...so hasn't suddenly become summer, but it is no longer 20 below, and the storm has stopped, and an overcast sky stretches above in the snowy darkness.
Each of you feels a powerful warmth flow up through your bodies from your feet to the top of your head and can't help but feel as if you've been touched by something holy. Even Mal, with the icy ring shrieking in upset in her head, as the warmth moves through her, feels.....the dull icy cold that has filled her body for months, get pushed back every so slightly.
(Each of you have received a blessing from a holy power. You gain 10 temporary hit points each day at dawn.)
After days and days sitting in this house, it seems the deed is done.

Mal stares at the ring on her hand. Good I am glad you hated that, expect worse in the coming months.
"Are we done here now or do we have this ghost thing to still contend with? I believe we have some others to hunt down." Mal says as she starts to ready her equipment fore the travel ahead. A slight shiver runs the course of her body and she laughs.
Kurik looks at Badger waiting for a response. "If we can leave. Then best make on with the day. I do wonder though. If he did cross over, can we take the wine? I had thought. If there is something with in me, I wonder if I can pickle it."
The Summer Star failed to be the solution to Mal's ring problem, but legends of possibly a solution within an ancient city called Ythryn, that may contain an anvil that can destroy artifacts has been determined by Badger. And the brotherhood are seeking the very same city, so perhaps one of these brotherhood members knows something about it.
Using his memories of the wizards from the boys head, Badger once again attempts scrying on them. A few minutes later he turns to the group.
"Found that lady wizard, or rather, her Owl. She seems to be at some prison looking place. We heard information about some place called Revel's End, a prison up north by the Sea of Ice. I suggest we go back to Lonelywood and ask for directions to this prison. Unless any of you have a better idea, which...I doubt....lets mount up and go."
