"We may see you there," Galingal says. He waves a fairwell to the Ogrillon and nods in the direction of the mind flayer as well.
He then joins the others, slipping in with Ploopp's entourage and keeps an eye for any other KT that may be brave enough to start something even if the odds are against him.
Lia pulls her hood up to hide her white hair and pearlescent skin a little, wrapping the cloak around herself and holding her wounded side. She keeps to the centre of the group and walks painfully along after the long day they’ve all had, hoping for a safe place to rest and regroup.
As you move through the city, the Ploopp's entourage continues circling you, some of them cheering, some shouting threatening gurgles at passersby.
Thom, you spot a pair of duergar on the second floor of a ramshackle building, looking down from a balcony. They seem amused by you being escorted by the impromptu parade of KT. One of them calls something down as you pass.
(If Stena is paying any attention, it's in Dwarvish)
"False ore turns to slag in the forge!"
They seem to be congratulating one another, as they move back inside.
You continue on, Ploopp taking a circuitous route, whether it's to be seen or it's the easiest way is hard to say, but he is greeting some he passes. The procession moves past another of the fertilization pools that Thom was so taken by earlier. Those of you from the surface don't think too much of it at first, beyond the startlement of the cold and wet, as droplets of rain start to fall, but the next moment you realize that it's raining.... it hasn't rained on you once in the Underdark...
A moment later, it's turned into a deluge, the KT of Sloobludop seemingly somewhat used to it, but many make for cover, the streets clearing somewhat around the pool. Strange, but not alarming... what is alarming, is when the puddles start to move, running together and converging on the fertilization pool, where a large form swirls up and begins to take shape!
A thick ropy tendril of water swings out and knocks a KT and a slave child down, scattering them into a nearby stall.
((It is not definitively combat, but rolling initiative for the NPCs if needed. Party's call if you want to get involved or flee!))
Lia sees the gooey watery(?) thing, and grimaces at the thought of what’s mixed in there. She weaves her way back, a little way, within the crowd of devoted KT followers.
She considers attacking, but instead waits to see how the followers and Ploopp react. She doesn’t want to ruin what seems like an important part of the mating ritual just yet…
She’ll ask “What’s going on?!”, aloud and through the spoor link. And if she can, she’ll also ‘ready’ a vicious mockery, to cast if any of the party decide to strike at the thing.
((oh no… all the vicious mockery I can think of is just plain disgusting!))
((There are shouts of surprise and alarm sounding from the KTs, and frantic running about. It doesn't seem that this animation of the pool is a part of the normal process...))

Stena circles around the pool, staying clear of the elemental, and makes it to the child that was flung into the crates. Sarith is fast on her heels, and helps Stena pull the pale, limp form from the wreckage. It's a drow child, white hair falling against albino skin.
Ploopp calls out to his goddess, and he is surrounded by swimming shapes that swirl and circle around him, the contingent of KTs that had been following him thrown into chaos among the crowds and fleeing. The spectral fish don't seem to harm or hinder you, but as he approaches the writhing elemental, they plunge into it and burrow through to emerge on the other side.
Elemental WIS vs DC 14: 8 or 8, half on save
The elemental lashes out at a passing KT, a watery limb extending ten feet to pluck them off the ground and wrap around them, pulling the now limp form into the main body that extends above the pool.
Buppido is wary, falling back against the wall of one of the nearby buildings.
Lex seems unsure about charging into battle with Stool in her pack, and is trying to sling it off to set him down, but he seems to be mentally arguing with her.
Jimjar curses and pulls a bolt free, fitting it to his hand crossbow.
Attack: 15 Damage: 6
Shuushar pads over to Stena and Sarith, placing his hands on the child. <They are stable. Thank you Stena.> The kuo-toa pacifist seems genuinely touched that Stena's first instinct was to protect life.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The watery creature writhes as Ploopp's burrowing fish cause some of its form to lose cohesion and splash to the ground, but water (and other fluids) soon flow into the tunnels bored through it. Jimjar's bolt passes through, with minimal effect.
Lia makes fun of its composition, and the creature cocks its head at her.
WIS Save: 19
Stool is still trying to climb out of the pack to join the fray, and Lex has put down her blade to try to contain him.
Derendil cracks his neck and looks to Thom.<I've never fought water before... should I join, or leave Ploopp to handle it?>
Galingal feels a deep set exhaustion settle over his slim frame when the watery creature forms in front of them. He steps back from it and makes no attempt to draw a weapon. But from what he can tell, it does appear hostile.
He looks for an exit route away, but he keeps part of his attention on the elemental. His free hand closes into a fist and then explodes open. At the same time, Galignal says, very quietly "maksaa kuolleita."
Action: Casts Toll the Dead DC14 Wis Save or takes 12 necrotic damage.
He returns his attention to finding a route away from the creature.
There are certainly ways to get away from the creature, it seems for now to be centered in the pool, any one of many twisting alleyways would take you away from the pool and into other parts of the city.
A bell tolls for the creature... (WIS Save: 10)

Thom would stay close to Stena as the party makes its way out of the Beer Room with Ploopp and his clan. He would warily walk with them, almost drawing his bow at a few points, but not just yet. If he was privy to Galingal's conversation with the drow and potentially meeting up with them tomorrow, he'd say to Galingal "well, nice to have options then right mate?"
Then... once Thom sees the watery form emerge from the cess/sexpool (LOL), he'd say
"DAMMIT! This thing ain't no mating ritual, yeah?!?!"
Whatever the thing is startles the heck out of Thom, and he would've instinctively drawn his bow in a flash when it snaked up into the air at that moment. He sees the child being attended to and nods (although he wasn't going to go check on it one way or another).
He would crack a grin at Lia's remark to the creature, and then say "ah shite madam Lia, looks like you got it upset yeah?! Time to get wet...."
Thom would respond to Derendil "Uhh... Yes! Yes! Attack it, my prince!" and he blindly sends him towards the elemental, not really knowing if the prince will even listen to him.
Thom would also get an arrow out and shoot at the thing on his turn, again having no idea if his arrow will actually hurt this thing.
Longbow: 26 Damage: 11
