Jimjar nods and turns back to the duergar, "We saw that something destroyed a lot of Sloobludop, we had no interest in putting on a show in the ruins of a town, so headed with the current down this way. There may be others who survived the destruction fleeing as refugees."

At the sound of Sloobludop's troubles, a few of the duergar exchange glances.
"Ah, probably a wise decision. We'll not hold you from your travels, you're about five days out from the City of Blades if the Darklake treats you right."
The duergar take up oars and prepare to row onward.

With his Undercommon still being very rudimentary, Galingal can't make out much of what the duergar say, but instead he focuses on their body language and the way they look at Jimjar and each other to see if they might be hiding more than they're letting on - especially when Jimjar mentions there may be refugees.
They totally see this as an opportunity. Refugees means people without the resources and support they'd normally have, making them vulnerable, and easy pickings in some manner or the other, as well as a whole city wrecked and ripe for the plucking. Even though Sloobludop was ramshackle, and band of dedicated looters would likely find something worth their while...
Of course, they know nothing of what caused that destruction, and in seeking to pluck unattended valuables, might themselves get plucked.

((Between Galingal being able to use remaining spell slots to top off your water barrels, and Stena's daily foraging (with help!), you're not doing bad on food and water. Don't have a lot to spare, but aren't in immediate danger of starving.))

You pole the boat onward through the dim and the wet, navigating onward, eventually stopping and anchoring.
((If you've the choice, would you tend to anchor in the pitch dark, or with glowing fungus or moss if there is any nearby?))
As you're taking your rest and settling in, the sounds of flapping and a burbling screech reaches some of you, bringing back recollections of the blood sucking stirges that beset the party shortly before most of you were captured by the KTs.

There is nothing in range of her darkvision just yet, and the echoes are bouncing around, making it hard to tell where they're coming from, when she sees a flit of movement to the stern of the boat, and spots a half dozen or more stirges flapping their way towards you.

Stena waves her arms to get everyone's attention and points in the direction of the stirge and gives the count she can see with her hand before winking out of sight.
She decides to take care of the issue before they can close and opens up on them.

Jimjar also asks in Common for the benefit of Lia and Gal, "We want to tell them anything about Sloobludop? Or play dumb?"

"Let them go," Galingal says to Jimjar. "Not likely see them again. If we look like we need they will try take advantage."
He keeps his eyes on the other boat as it floats away.
Stena keeps watching after long after they've vanished from her sight.
She utters a curse after them and spits in the water before coming back into view.
"Let's move."
She gets back to poling.
Lia considers playing a little more, after they leave, but instead picks up an oar and helps the crew make some more progress onwards.
