After speaking to Gabriel Amadi turned his attention to the guards. The one that had punched Gabriel, he seemed the most likely target to attempt to manipulate. None of these were in charge they were following orders, even if they didn't quite understand those orders or why they were issued. Amadi would do his best to try and work that to their advantage.
Using his telepathic ability he spoke in the man's mind, Amadi hoped that the guard would not know it was Amadi speaking in his head. (see previous deception roll of 17)
Call the City Watch. Prove to the Gundwynd you are worthy of promotion. Why hide in the stables, are you sure this is the right course of action? Why the stables? What is going on? Call the Watch, call the Watch, call the Watch! Prisoner's in the stables? Why why why? Call the Watch!
Amadi is trying to sow doubt and confusion in the man's mind, manipulate his emotions and second guess himself and what they are doing.
Silent like a shadow, Sylvio find his way inside the manège. Inside the building, the elf searches for company. A guard, a stable hand, a horse trainer or maybe even a rider training. Nothing. The space was both empty and unlocked and noticing that the rogue opens its door, inviting Sunny and Sweeps to enter. From there it would be tremendously easy to observe the mansion without being noticed.
Inside the mansion Amadi focused his mind, first into trying to reach mentally, the apparent commander of those troops. Sadly for Shadeflame, he was brought downstairs before he could try and his message was rendered unable to reach its intended target. It was a pity, for the man was older, more battered and clearly experienced that most of the others. Even if there was not a command chain in Villa’s garrison it was pretty clear to the cleric that such warrior was a leading figure, a commander of sorts, and persuading him would have helped.
Instead, he does the next best thing - he reaches to the guard who punched Gabriel. That was not a man of measured words or, at the very least, was a man fast to action. More about emotion than the others.
Confusion takes hold of the guard’s expression as the voice, unfamiliar to him, invades his mind. The City Watch have no power there and he knew why the prisoners were being taken to the stables. Calling the watch would not bring him promotion, but punishment. At best he would lose his job, more likely than not he wouldn’t be able to work in Waterdeep anymore and if he was unluck… Maybe his lord was adept to using Lhestyn's Court. He looked at Gabriel feeling enraged. That prisoner was a caster, that voice was his work. Had to be.
“I warned you.” The guard says pulling a wharhammer from his belt. Without a moment of delay, he uses the weapon to hit the assimar in the stomach.
“What the hells?” Ask other of the guards confused by the sudden bout of violence from his brother-in-arms.

@Jynne and @Gunner, what do your characters do? Do they follow Sylvio inside the manège or take a different action? If your characters follow the rogue there is you do not need to roll a new stealth check (since he opened the way to you there is no challenge in entering stealthy, so your old stealth checks are still in effect). @Jynne make me a perception check for Chewyn, with advantage. @Gruba, Gabriel takes 7 bludgeoning damage. Once again an autohit because Gabriel is not a position where he can resist.
Gabriel takes the hit with a HOOF but says nothing else. Partially in his determination to follow instructions, but mainly for fear of revealing any detail about Amadi's casting. If the spiritual warlock must fall so that another soul can effect a rescue, so be it...
Not the outcome Amadi had hoped for but he knew death would be found in the stable so he decided to sew as much chaos as he could. He hoped Gabriel was up for the hits because as long as these guards thought it was him he would have time to do as much as he can.
Choosing the other guard that spoke he telepathically in his mind.
He's going to set them free stop him!
To another he speaks again telepathically
This is Gundwynd! They will ruin everything stop those guards!
To another
Shar is coming the prisoners are key, keep them alive
To another
The Villa is on fire get out now
He speaks into their minds with a frantic tone. He hoped he could cause enough confusion an opportunity would present itself.
Then he takes chance and reaches out to try and speak to Sylvio telepathically
Sunny follows Sweeps without question trusting his choices. They must trust each other in this situation, hesitation could be dangerous. Encouraging Chewy along quietly behind her. (Chewy stealth roll 16 )
As soon as they are within the Menage and out of view, Sunny quickly assesses her distance from a view of the fire and suggests that Sweeps and Sylvio look for other exits from the Menage just in case.
Sylvio pokes his head out the door and whispers urgently to Sweeps and Sunny. “In here-a! This place is-a empty and we can-a watch the manor to see where-a the others may go.”
He then ducks back in to watch for signs of the others and get the lay of the land. He searches through the room to find anything of use. 13 perception
Sweeps follows Sylvio and Sunny into the manege and shares his suspicions about the sewers “The stables will probably be our best bet to find the sewers. There are typically entrances to the sewers behind the main house, the barracks, and the stables, and the stables will probably have the least guards at this point.”
He searches around the manege, looking for any equipment or items that may help them escape. He then looks out the window, searching for any sign of Amadi and Gabriel and trying to identify where the guards are located around the grounds.
Sunny looks nearby for how the yard about the manor is illuminated and for anything remotely resembling a sewer entrance as surprisingly, she's had little experience of this so far. (of possible note - her passive perception and insight is 16 which is actually better than Chewy's)
As she gets closer to Sweeps in the Menage, she realizes that his injuries are still worse than her own. She glances over to Sylvio to see how he's fairing and offers to wrap his quickly - Healer's feat with healer's kit heal - > its 1d6+4+his level so should heal him completely as she hasn't used it on him since last rest (none so far that I know) but has definitely on Sweeps and possibly herself. Given enough time with them watching out for guards, she will also cast cure wounds at second level for Sweeps. She has two more first level slots depending on who needs additional healing. I have not added these rolls yet as unsure of how much time we have.
Sylvio looks down as Sunny wraps his ankle in bandages. “Sylvio is-a ok. Just-a twisted the ankle on-a that drop form the window-a.” He doesn’t protest too much though and immediately his ankle feels more secure and stable. “Thank you Sweeps-a, those undead-a things never touched Sylvio, but his ankle feels better-a.”
Following Sylvio’s cue, Sunny and Sweeps enter the manège. Once out of view for any passing guard, the genasi tells the rest of the trio that their best chance of escaping to the sewers would be through the stables. The tortle starts treating both of her companions as her mastiff smells the air, alert to anyone approaching. The elf listens attentively while looking for something, anything, that could help their situation. Maybe a hook to tie in a rope, maybe a complete grappling hook. Sadly, he had no look in his search, finding nothing but a horse cell a dozen feet or so away from him.
Inside de mansion Gabriel is faithful to the telepathic instructions he received, enduring in silence the unfair aggression of the confused guard. Honoring the name of his bloodline, the aasimar is decided to endure this ordeal to protect the secret of his brother in arms. Amadi, takes advantage of the situation to look around the room. They are in the main hall of the villa’s mansion and while four guards escort them, one at each of their sides, around the area there are six more and that not counting with the man upstairs. Brightflame did not know how many troops were there, but at least a considerable portion, if not the vast majority of it, should be there.
The cleric then uses his telepathy to send to each of the escorting soldiers a message, trying to confuse them. To the one who questioned the strike against Gabriel he suggests the aggressor intended to release the prisoners. To another the cleric try to pass for Gundwynd and incite a confrontation. To a third he speaks of Shar and keeping the chained alive. To the last of the four he warns of the fire, tells him to run.
“He’s speaking in my…” The guard with the wharhammer starts to speak.
“Mind. He’s saying you want to release them.” Says the one who questioned the violence.
“To me he told Shar is…” Says the man at the cleric’s right side.
“You do not speak of the Lady of Loss!” Shouts the last of the guards, the one to which Amadi tried to pass as a member of the House.
Both the prisoners can easily notice that the eyes of every guard in the room is now centered on the arguing soldiers.

@Jynne roll the dice for the Healer feat and one cast of Cure Wounds. The skill check asked from the Chewyn was a perception check, not stealth. The value was counted as such and neither Chewy nor Sunny notice any presence. @Althax, probably because it is still early morning and the place was not yet used, but Sylvio finds nothing. @Everyone, what will your characters do now?
@DM Healer's Feat for Sylvio 12 . cure wounds @ 2nd level is 6 for Sweeps' healing. Adjusting Chewy's roll for perception would work out to 20 as the advantage roll was 14+6 instead of 2 (which is his stealth bonus) having not known if the pass without trace added 10 for Chewy so hadn't added that. Didn't re-roll above just bolded number and recalculated from original roll. Also - Does Sunny see any light sources at all within the Mansion grounds - she's looking particularly for ones of the flame variety. The mansion is too far away for her cantrip - she has as a result of her choice of fighting style - Druidic Warrior.
@Althax - Sunny can do Healer's feat heals once per short rest on a person who hasn't had it done yet, so huge benefit she plans taking advantage of and has quite a few Healer's kits. (17 uses left)
Gabriel looks at the scene unfolding before him, the bickering guards, through the blood filling his eyes. He thinks that he has an understanding of Amadi's plan, but waits for some sort of signal before taking any action.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Heeding Sweeps advice about stables likely having access to the sewers, a place Sylvio himself is very familiar with, Sylvio tries to remember if he saw signs of the stables as they entered the manor. 16 Investigation
”We must-a get out of here-a.” He anxiously worries to himself.
Smiling inwardly, Amadi hopes that the confusion has just begun. But he also notes that there are still many guards around. Too many to fight if they want to break free. But he also doesn't want to lose the opportunity that his actions are taking. One thing he knows for sure though, Shar is one they know well. He would leverage that to his advantage.
He waits to see if the arguing continues while they make their way out of the hall. He would prefer to be out of the main building and closer to or even in the stables and have fewer guards about. He lets them stew over their thoughts and waits to see what happens next.
Looking towards Sweeps and Sunny, Sylvio speaks quietly to avoid being overheard. “I think-a the stables are-a south of us. Usually these-a noble types want-a the smell of-a the horses far away from-a the house-a. If that is-a our way out-a, we should try to sneak in-a.”

The stables might be good as if they plan to transport the prisoners elsewhere. They'll need something to do so with like a cart or horses. I'm afraid to draw too much attention yet though as they might just secure them inside. If they come out, we might have a chance."
