Seeing the others arrive at the sewer entrance, Sylvio quickly sheaths his scimitar and pulls out his thieve’s tools. He quickly bends down and attempts to unlock Gabriel’s feet. 19 thief tools check
Sunny turns to Amadi, "My existing spells only allow me to subtly affect existing flames and there are too many animals around. I should have thought to do so within the manor but there then I'd have been locked up with you and Gabriel. Besides, we want to stay on the right side of the law as much as possible." She pauses looking as apologetic as a Tortle can. "I'm sorry we left, there was just something about how they were approaching us that didn't look right." The looking at the darkened interior of the sewers pulls a torch from her pack and proceeds to light it. "I'll follow at the back of the group so this doesn't mess with any of you that can see well in the dark."
Sylvio snorts at the Tortle’s apology. “Sorry? What is there-a to be sorry for-a? If we-a had surrendered like-a these fools, who would-a be doing the rescuing now-a?” He shakes his head “I don’t-a know where-a you come from but-a Sylvio has-a been on the streets enough to-a know that these noble types make-a their own rules and-a the laws of-a the city, end at-a the gates of their beautiful estate-a.”
”Come! Let-a us make our escape-a! Sylvio would have-a been away long ago if-a anyone would-a believe what has-a happened today. Without you all-a, sharing-a the story, who is-a to believe only Sylvio?”
"I do not run, at least I didn't. I'm running now. I misjudged the weight of the law. I do not know where they were going to take us but with Shar involved I do not wish to find out either. Thank you for coming back for us, you owed us nothing and yet you did. You are in my debt." Amadi responds. "I'll see what I can do about jamming the sewer lid in place."
After the others are down and out of the way he grabs his tools and sees what he can do with some pitons, a crowbar, and a small hammer to make the sewer lid jammed closed.
Sunny nods a little sadly her bright spirits dampened not by Sylvio but the realization that these people are not like the ones she's used to. "It is true, I had traveled very far to reach this city full of wonders and such diversity, but the reality of it has stolen some of the brightness of the adventure. I have spent much too much time within the guild walls, its made me naive." Watching alertly as Amadi works with speed and proficiency on the grate, ready to punish anyone attempting to hinder his progress.
Once he succeeds (hopefully with that 20) she attempts to channel some of the illumination of the torch into her Aquan face. She takes a soon regrettable deep breath and says, "Lets find our way through these opportune tunnels and to the Field Ward. We are on a quest to save the children of this city." Turning her head briefly as the intense fragrance of the sewer fills her large lungs and sinus passages, watering her eyes for a moment.
The sound of hooves and the scream of men took hold of the air as the four guards made their best to not be stomped by the herd of beasts unleashed and incited by Sweeps. This freed the five adventures of any pursuit, at least for enough time to the entirety of the group find its way to the sewer. Sylvio, experienced in dealing with scoundrels and having to evade their antics, knew at a glance how much the chains at Gabriel’s ankles would slow both aasimar and the party as whole, if they decided to wait for Bryte. Something that, considering their escapade, was the most likely to happen. The elf takes his thieves tools and release the manacles with unbelievable naturality, as if it was the easiest thing in the world. A few, gentle and extremely precise touches and it was opened.
Closing the entrance, the genasi remembers how the smith contained the monstrous crow and asks if Amadi could not seal the manhole. Shadeflame agree and starts to work, as fast as he could. Even there precision can be noticed in his handiwork, as one would expect from a follower of the Wonderbringer. Sunny light a torch and apologizes for not staying with her formerly captured companions, prompting rogue and cleric to speak of the reality of law.
The group then discusses their next step, while the ranger mentions how the true face of the world could extirpate the light of an adventure, admits the limitations of her vision in darkness and suggests moving to the Field Wards. Sylvio then releases Gabriel’s hands and a marching order is decided. Amadi and the elf at the front, followed by Sweeps and Chewy with Sunny and the aasimar at the rear. During the entirety of the process no one hears even a single attempt from soldiers to enter the tunnel. Releasing the horses seem to have kept the men at arms at bay.
Notes
Because both Sweeps and Sylvio have the City Secrets feature, the group is traveling twice as fast as any pursuing party so, basically, no troops will reach you guys.
@Paladin and @Althax, you an have each of your characters make a Survival Check or one of them make a Survival Check with Advantage. DC 15 to find an exit and DC 18 to find the way to the Field Ward. You may discuss what to do in the OOC chat. @Jynne, make me a Perception check for Chewy. You can have Sunny use the Help Action to give him advantage. @Gruba, Gabriel is now free of chains. He can move and fight as normal.
Gabriel rubs his sore wrists as the party makes good their escape. "Thank you greatly my friend, you are truly gifted with those tools" he says to Sylvio.
Discussing the guards, his mood darkens "Those were no agents of law, they were out for retribution or an easy answer. Had I known their rotten intents from the start, I would have braved the jump out the window"
Nevertheless, the aasimar resolves to not change his view of all house guards in future, and instead focuses on the next steps ahead.
Working quickly Amadi is again able to use the pitons this time to seal the manhole. "That will hold for a time, but how long, who knows." He then moves to the front of the group and with help of Sylvio tries to guide the group towards the Field Ward. Secretly he hopes to at least find an exit and not become lost down below. He has heard rumors of the thieves guilds and other more nefarious things that may be found in Waterdeep's sewer system. And the smell, oh the smell. Awful to say the least.
Sylvio scans about the sewer tunnel wondering aloud “Where is-a the nearest exit? And where is-a the field ward?” He notices Amadi looking about as well and offers to help him with what knowledge Sylvio us of the sewers. “It is-a easy to lose your sense of-a directions down here-a.”
He then turns towards the group and asks them as a whole “What is-a our goal? Why were we-a sent on the errand? Was-a the captain sending us to-a our deaths? Do they even care about-a these killings? Sylvio does not trust any of-a this and wonders if we should just-a leave and be happy with our-a freedom and-a our lives?”
Sweeps follows along closely behind Sylvio and Amadi, letting the torch light from Sunny illuminate his way and trying to help the party navigate the sewers. He was no stranger to the maze of tunnels winding underneath the city, but even he did not know all the paths and dangers within.
“I fear it is too late to run my friend” he answers Sylvio “Our freedom would be short-lived now that the family believes we killed a member of their staff and fled the house. I am sure that they will pin the deaths of the children on us as well. We will be hunted throughout the city. No, our best bet is to solve this mystery and clear our own names. We should make our way to the harbor to follow up on the significance of the number four, but we need to rest first. I am on my last legs. We should be able to find a space away from prying eyes in the Field Ward.”
Sunny takes another look at Gabriel and then speaks to Sweeps, "Could you hold the torch for me for a bit? Gabriel could use some bandaging as we walk." She asks trying to pass the torch to him for a minute or two as she reaches in her satchel for a Healer's kit. "Gabriel, if you'll let me, I can do something about those injuries." She will work quickly on the various injuries Gabriel's suffered over the short time in the manor as they walk within the Sewer tunnels.
DM permitting, if she can use during battle, should be ok just walking? Healer's Feat - 1d6+4+char lvl (5) = 14

“Well-a, now is-a the time for Sylvio to start-a looking ahead. Try to be quiet-a as we go.”

Gabriel accepts the healing from Sunny gratefully "Thank you friend, I fear the guards may have been a bit too committed to their work when trying to restrain me, compliant as I was"
Addressing the group, the aasimar recalls the connection they made between the number 4 and the eastern religions: "If we can find travelers from those regions at the harbour, maybe we can uncover a connection. A lead to a group that has taken residence within the city perhaps, or a supplier who might lead us to Waterdhavians with a penchant for such evil"
"I apologize Gabriel. You took the blame for my subterfuge and attempts to turn the guards against each other. I was not persuasive or devious enough and failed. I will make it up to you." Amadi says
Sunny smiles back at Gabriel, "I'm glad you both made it out of there with only this. We feared where they would take the two of you, especially with the magic transportation we experienced."
Sweeps, "We likely all owe you much for getting us out of there via the Sewers. I don't know how we would have fared going out the front or trying over a wall."
Gabriel places a warm hand on Amadi's shoulder and says "It was a bold effort, and more than I could muster once they cowed me. If the best I could offer was to distract their blows, then that's what the divines planned for me"

Sweeps nods in appreciation back to Sunny “People, especially Nobles, don’t often think about the refuse that flows beneath them. Luck was on our side that it was unblocked, but don’t rest easy until we are out of these tunnels and in the Field Ward.”
Sweeps thinks back to his connections and memories of the Field Ward for the location of an inn or stable that they may use to rest. History: 12.
The Sword Coast knew Weterdeep by its bay and port, the crowded streets pouring millions into many markets. Each one a world in itself, full of wanders and mysteries. There was the Castle, the Blacktaff Tower. City of Splendor indeed. But that was just the face. By comparison the sewers were the bowels. Dark, putrid, damp and hot. A labyrinth of tunnels in which it was more than just easy to get lost.
Were it not by Sylvio’s and Sweeps exceptional knowledge of the streets, the five adventurers would certainly lost their way. Maybe to never again find the light of day. Fast on their feet, they were not sure if any guard of the mansion had gave them chase. The only thing they could be certain off was that no guard had reached them.
The group was led by Amadi, that with his vision enhanced by the power of the giant Stone rune, was able to notice and avoid many perils. Holes, collapsing structures, dead ends, wandering creatures. He noticed and avoided them all, guiding his newfound friends, after a couple hours or so, to an exit.
Light and fresh hair took hold of their senses, as the five finally left the gutter. Surrounding him squalid buildings and dirty streets, filled with craters and rodents and the sound of a myriad people too busy with their own days and worries to pay attention to anything or anyone. It was a sad, dark place, abandoned in comparison to the rest of the city. They had arrived in the Fields Ward.
Elf and genasi were familiar with the area. Or, at least, familiar enough to know, by the proximity of the outer wall, that they were in the Trollwall Way. Of the two the barbarian is the first to think about a place where they could rest. He knew the five of them could find cheap rooms by the taverns and brothels of the Fieldway - a large street south from where they stood.
