"Yes, happy to use my symptoms to help guide. I felt the weakness heading west before we arrived here." She moves a little about the small space to see if the direction has changed now that they are closer. Looking to the woman to see if her symptoms are worsened in any position within the home.
“It was twenty-three days ago.” Rob said with the precision of someone that could never forget the day. “Can’t say for sure we where the first, but I haven’t heard of anything like that happening before.”
It all seemed to align. The time of the first victim, the date of the possible last. Six deaths, four days separating each of them. As the facts sit in the minds of the adventurers, Gabriel notices a possibility, to follow Sunny quite literal gut feeling. The tortle confirms the likelihood of this plan working and Sweeps prudently reminds that the creature they fought in the Magnificent Mansion could appear once again.
The group bids farewell to the poor couple and outside of their shack start their unconventional search. Southwest, the body of the ranger seems to scream at each step she takes in the direction. Following in this direction the party soon finds an empty lot. It rests halfway between the squalid houses of the Fieldward and the Trollfort. An abandoned court, large and covered in tall grass. Here and there a small dirt road, used by the locals to make a detour. Here and there a piece of trash could be found. Stray animals loitered in the lawn. Probably cats or racoons, you all think.
Before long you are on the road to the fort, then on the houses west it. By then Sunny’s feeling seems to change direction, more acutely to the occident.
Notes: Yes, I just put notes on the start to make you think a battle was starting. In case of doubt, as always, feel free to as in the OOC chat.
@Everyone, make a perception check. @Jynne, Sunny can make the check with advantage.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Sylvio thanks the couple before leaving “Thank you for-a talking with us. We will-a do our best to-a stop this thing from-a killing anyone else.” He then moves with the group, following Sunny’s feelings. He keeps his eyes and ears sharp for anything around them.
Sweeps moves out across the Field Ward, maintaining an easy pace and staying close to Sunny as she follows the signs of her pain. Keeping Sunny in the corner of his eye, he scans the surrounding fields and alleyways for any sign of threats.
"We are very close then." Amadi says grimly. He turns to the others. "We free her of this pain by destroying the curse. Let us go and find this thing." He then moves out with the others keeping a sharp eye out for trouble and where the box may be buried.
Sylvio shrugs “As Sylvio has said-a, He is fine but-a we do not know what-a we are facing at the moment. If this is-a guarded or dangerous, are we-a prepared for a battle after the day’s activities?”
Sweeps looks at the others “We have some time, we know the next killing should occur tomorrow night. I am fine, but It may be better to rest. We could come back and follow Sunny’s symptoms tomorrow. What do the rest of you think?”
Sunny nods to Sweeps, "A rest is welcome should any of you need one. I can draw again upon Selune's grace for her blessing and support of us for this purpose, it has been many hours since I've said my thanks. But as a Ranger, my strength endures if we must press on." The strain on the Tortle's face is evident in her spirit though not reflected by her physical health.
Step after step the tension increases. Each and every one of the five can feel they are enclosing on danger, on battle. Sunny could feel more than the others. The sickness she felt was almost damaging, enough to make her think if it was a good idea to follow that way before a longer rest. Thoughts that are given voice first by Sylvio, then Amadi and finally Sweeps. In the distance the sound of flapping wings seems to echo through the air. The crow, the entire groups think as soon as they notice the noise. It was impossible not to remember the creature on the Magnificent Mansion, especially for the ranger and the barbarian, she a victim of its curse and he thought crazy or high by mentioning its existence.
Following the Tortle’s symptoms the adventurers find themselves walking in the direction of the walls of the Trollfort, the construction separating the Fieldward of the Outer City. More specifically, to a section of the walls outside of the visual range of the sentinels positioned at the fort’s gate. A pungent smell assaults the group’s nostrils. Sweet, sickening, putrid. Gabriel recognizes it from when the sigil triggered in the Gudwynd Vila. The smell of death, nay, of corpses. The avatar of the kotoribako didn’t exude such fragrance, but it was not alone when Bryte last felt it. More undead, he can deduce. It is not a single enemy that lies ahead and if their last battle served as any indication, it wouldn’t be an easy confrontation either.
How much further could they go before starting a battle? Could they wind a battle in their current state or was it better to wait and strike at full force? There was time, right?

@Everyone, would you like to advance or retreat for a long rest?
Sunny hesitates, unable to go on with the pain in her gut starting to overwhelm her. She reaches out to halt the others. "I must rest before we continue. We should face it at full strength. While we can, lets head back to the inn and take some hours of rest before continuing." Her expression pained at not being able to continue, but knowing they'll surely fail if they don't recover their strengths.
“I can find this place again easily enough” Sweeps looks around their surroundings, making mental notes of their location near the Trollfort. The sound of the crow in the distance brings back eerie memories of the fight against the shadow creatures in the mansion and the difficulties he had in making them fall.
“I too think we should be well rested before we face whatever lies ahead. We should return back to the inn tonight.” He moves to lead the other back to the inn if they are all in agreement and willing to go.
Sunny follows willingly back to the inn thinking back to the battle within the Mansion. As she does, she remembers the other creatures they faced at the start of the battle. "What were those other creatures? The spirits we fought? I'd forgotten until now with the Crow so set in my mind. Do you remember how we defeated those? It feels so long ago now."
"A rest, yes. At full strength we will be ready to take on evil" says Gabriel, concerned for his friends and the task they face to save their fellow Waterdhavians.

Sylvio hesitates. “Should we perhaps rest-a before we attempt this? Sylvio is-a fine but are not your Magic’s depleted?”

"If we have time to rest that would be best so we are at full strength to deal directly with this threat." Amadi says in response to Sylvio.
