Triäsa quickly changes into bedclothes and slips into her bed, trying to get back to sleep.
The next morning she is up early but seems oddly pensive after being so joyful the previous night. She quickly finishes a light breakfast and is ready to head out for the day. "Sounds good to me Daventry. I've not really got anything I'm looking for but visiting Sorcerous Sundries does sound like fun."
The group of you reunite in the main hall of the Three Kegs early in the morning. After a quick bite to eat you gather your things and prepare for a day in the city. As a first matter of business you set out to peddle your goods looted from the downed foes. Going stall to stall in the Wide is not productive as the monster's former items are in very poor condition. You decide that since you are heading to the Lower City anyways to take try your luck there. After a few curt denials you finally find merchant willing to take them off your hands for 50gold, it seems to be a take it or leave it offer.
You then try to collect bounties and if it were at all possible this goes worse. Most people are repulsed as you show then the ears and just turn away swiftly. One guard over hears your conversation and approaches you about a strange report of a group of dead jackals that were found this morning in a building though no one can find the occupants. He reluctantly lets you go having no real reason to hold you longer. You decide it best to stop trying to collect on the ears after that. Once you have sorted your business there you head off to one of the most intriguing locations in all of Baulder's Gate, Sorcerous Sundries.
The unusual architecture makes this building easy to find any local will reluctantly give you brief but accurate directions. The building is a round structure with a high dome of stained glass roof. Inside you find several open-air floors that rise upon wooden pillars, connected by staircases and ladders. It's late in the morning and their are only a few other patrons in the store. As you enter a small human male in pristine blue robes with elegant gold trim approaches you.
"Ah, fresh faces. Welcome to Sorcerous Sundries! The finest magic shop in all of the Sword's Coast. I am Rivalen Blackhand, owner and proprietor of this fine, fine establishment. What is it that brings to our humble shop, scrolls? Ingredients?" He looks over toward Ludolf, "Or perhaps a Potion of Remove Disease? You don't look well sir, you just might need it!" As he speaks you note his right hand is withered and frail.
"I'll be alright Ludolf, thanks," Triäsa says. "I had a very nice evening with all of you last night. It was fun, though I think three ales might have been more than I needed." She half thinks that might be true, dreams induced from drinking and being so tired. But she can't get past just how real the voice and face of her mother was. And she was clearly in pain. She continues to think about these things and is not likely paying as close attention as she normally would.
When they get to Sorcerous Sundries she seems to perk up a bit and does listen attentively to Rivalen. She smirks at the comment he makes to Ludolf. "I just want to look about," she asks Rivalen. "Is that allowed?"
Daventry ditches the rag of ears right after the incident with the guard, tossing the wrapped set into an all-to-common pile of Lower City refuse. "Least the rats can have a good meal. Worth a shot."
Once in Sorcerous Sundries, Daventry has the look of a kid in a candy store, or rather a kid who was never allowed past the door of the candy store in the first place. "Pleased to make your acquaintance, Master Blackhand. I'd love to browse your arms and armors, if I might. Recently I've had a nasty habit of needing to hunt weres. Not a scratch on me, thankfully, but not a scratch on them either, so I'm looking for a small blade that might help even the odds... Be it a bit o' magic or silver."
Rivalen smiles but you can tell it's a bit forced, "Ah window shopping my dear lady. Yes you can look but stay on the first floor and don't touch anything. There are lots of dangerous and powerful items here!" With that he turns away from you rather curtly as he sense that you are not here to buy.
As you wander the aisles you see a number of different strange items. There are potions to be sure, different shapes and sizes. There is a shelf with a few potions of healing. A whole aisle with spell scrolls arranged by school of magic then alphabetically. Plants line the walls higher up, odd shaped creations with thorns and flowers snapping at bugs that happen to pass to close. Behind a counter of glass you see a variety of bags, all sorts of colors, shapes and sizes. There are racks of cloaks some astonishingly plain others overly ornate. Yet another case has rings everything from simple bands made of metal to gaudy jewel encrusted monstrosities. If your heart can imagine it there is a chance you will find it or something like in these walls.
Rivalen then turns to Daventry intrigued by her request, "Ah! You must be a blossoming hero! Soon to be a legend, your tale told in Taverns from here to Neverwinter and beyond! You come to me looking for a weapon to carve your name into history. It would be my honor to outfit you and give you something worthy of your skill."He looks over your current arsenal you think you see a hint of disappointment but he carries on. "Come, come" He leads you to a counter with a variety of weapons. He waves his hand, mutters something under his breath while clutching something in his pocket. There is a faint glow over the weapons that dims quickly. He pulls a rapier down from the rack accompanied by a dagger. Laying them on the counter before you. The blades match perfectly. The set is a rather plain though well made set of a highly polished silver. The hilt of both is a clean black leather with elegant spirals of silver wrapping around the hand piece in an elegant fashion. "There are the finest in silver weaponry. Made by the greatest of dwarven smiths and brought here just for you. 250 gold pieces for the set. A steal to save your life against the werewolf around the corner."
He sets these aside and reaches under the counter and pulls a bundle of fine purple felt on the counter. He delicately removes a gold lace tie and reveals the most elegant set of rapier and dagger you have ever seen. Both blades shine like pure platinum adorned with rubies and emeralds, "If you are serious about saving the world from the wrath of Tiamat then this is what you need. Not even I know where these blades came from they just appeared mysteriously but the quality is undeniable for the a low price of 500 gold each. If you buy them both I'll reluctantly part with them for 900 gold." (theses are +1 weapons)
As they walk through the streets Pardot approaches Daventry and quietly says to just her, “Hey Dav… Kind of a strange question… but, by any chance was there any change in your tattoo last night? Or… did you feel anything from it?” Regardless of Daventry’s response, he explains why saying, “Though I can’t explain it, I could swear that I saw one of the stars from the Sisters drop out of the sky last night. I’ve never seen anything like it.”
Once in the Sundries, Pardot looks around wide eyed at everything. Such an interesting collection items. Magic was always something that the stars brought, but to see it all here, and touchable, is almost as unthinkable as this city itself. He asks, “Do you happen to have a special waterskin by chance? I might also need some ruby dust.”
Rivalen barely looks to Pardot as he states his request, "Ruby dust! Ha what request. A young mage trying to control fire I suspect!! A formidable ability for sure. 50 gold worth I am assuming? As for your water skin let me check the ledger." (roll a d20 1-10 no water skin; 11-20 he has it; if he has it the price is 500 gold pieces.)

8"I may have to place an order for the skin once I can save a bit more coin... Though I don't know how often we'll be in town. Do you arrange shipments to Candlekeep?"Pardot says, his eyes again going wide at the prices being discussed. Though he already has more gold than ever before, it seems the real world economy was yet another something he could never imagine. Then thinking really quick adds, “Or, maybe is there something that you need done that we could help with in exchange?”
He then turns to Daventry, in the shop, and says, "Dav! Last night as I was watching the stars I learned some new things and saw some new connections. I may be able to put a flame on your sword for you. Werefolk don't like fire right?"
Having wandered around a bit, Triäsa comes back over to stand next to Daventry. "Oh, those are beautiful! Do you think we have enough to get them both? I suppose we should be dividing things evenly. But a good sword in your hands Daventry might just save the lot of us in the long run." She laughs lightly, "I mean, I could use them, but with much less deadly efficiency!"
She gazes at the rapier and dagger again for a moment, admiring their beauty. "I would imagine there would be opportunities for the rest of us down the road."
When she finds an opportunity she would ask Rivalen, "What does it cost for healing potions? Especially if I were to buy more than one."
Daventry pauses at Pardot's question. "Well... Yea, actually. Something did change." She shows the halfling her shooting star addition, just under her left collarbone. And she raises her sleeve, to see if Pardot recognizes anything different with the main part of her brand. "I had a strange dream that I was sailing the stars... And then everything came crashing down." She glances around. "We should talk more tonight."
------------------
In the store, Daventry looks in awe at the weapons. To Triasa, "It would be awesome to wield this set," referring to the platinum rapier and dagger, "and perhaps best to save coin for it." Turning to Blackhand again. "The silver dagger by itself, how much?"
To Pardot, she gives a grin, "Well, I can certainly think of a few tricks. Perhaps a flaming dagger, one I can throw where light is needed... And summon back into my hand at a thought."
Ludolf follows along to Sorcerous Sundries looking around the shop with curiosity, following Triäsa around, not really looking for anything in particular. "Thank you for your concern I feel just fine, you should consider taking more care of yourself though, that looks nasty, like a curse performed by someone powerful that you offended, intentionally or not." Ludolf says calmly glancing at the proprietors withered hand. Unless asked to lend his gold for some purchase he is ready to find transportation back to candlekeep when everyone else is.
The shop keep looks at Triäsa with a bit of surprise. "Healing yes we do have some potions but they have been very popular lately, the Flaming Fist almost bought our entire supply yesterday. I think we have 3 left. If you like them they are yours for the low price of 50 gold! But we are running a small special for pretty young ladies like yourself if you buy two we will charge just 100 gold and all three can be yours for 150 gold!!"
Rivalen waves to a clerk who quickly processes Ludolf's request. The items are placed in fine felt sack that perfectly matches Rivalen's robes. He thanks you for your time and business as soon as the transaction is concluded and turns back to the others hoping to earn a bit more gold this morning.
At Pardot's request of deliveries to Candlekeep, "Yes, we do have an agreement with the Keep. All you need to do is place the request at the Erudite Outfitters and Clothiers. There are some fees associated with the service and a small amount of risk but we try to fulfill any reasonable request quickly."
