As he is instructed to make no sounds Ludolf will instead use his awakened mind to contact Klin. "What happened Klin, do you need help or can you get down by yourself?"
Triäsa gives Daventry a very brief glance, then responds to Klin. "We never made it over there." She scans around a moment for any signs of a monster or even movement. (Perception: 12)
"Do you need help with the injury Klin?" She walks over closer to him to take a look. (Medicine: 3)
"No, we didn't make it over there because we went looking for someone who went off by himself in spite of being specifically told not to do that."Ludolf comments, a bit grumpy again it seems. "Let's move on, together." Ludolf says as they are ready to continue.
Klin -- On third review a tie on an attack roll goes to the attacker. So that one attack was a hit and so you were down 8 HP from the encounter. Sorry for all the confusion. You are at 14HP
Assuming we realize Klin is badly hurt and that Triäsa soothes his pain with her bardic magic Ludolf then ushers everyone on to the stonemason, reminding everyone again to stay together now.
Triäsa sings softly as she sets a hand briefly on Klin's shoulder to cast Cure Wounds. (Heals: 12) 'I call upon the mystic weave, To mend this wounded body.'
She then looks at Klin with a smile. "Better now?"
Coming up to Ludolf, Triäsa glances to him. "I think we can move on now, Grumpy." She gives him a grin.
Reunited you start the short walk to the north and the stonemason's building. The front door of the stonemason’s home and workshop gapes open, with the remains of the door lying several feet away and covered in long brown grass. The roof has caved in, and remnants of rotting furniture are visible through the open doorway. Blank headstones stand in front of the house, and one beside the doorway is engraved with the words “Tiris Frosthair, Stonemason. Inquire at Back.”
Entering into the building you see a number of carving tools and implements. One headstone is on the work bench and reads;
"ADALYN CREEN
May you alw"

Triäsa chats briefly with Klin as they walk over towards the stonemason. "So what did you see? What gave you those injuries? I have to assume that whatever it is the thing is still around?" She then looks at Ludolf as she says, "Not just an illusion." Seeing him looking away, seemingly shamed, she comes over to him. Briefly putting an arm around him she says, "It was a joke Master Crowley. Mostly." She gives him a grin as she turns her attention to their investigation.
Now at the stonemason's home she looks around a bit, though takes great care to keep with the rest of the group. She tries to spot anything that might be worth a further look. (Perception: 6)
"No Triäsa, not just an illusion, but likely one of the things creating the illusions, or perhaps mind tricks would be a better name for what they are up to." Ludolf answers, still a bit grumpy. He then turns his attention to the stonemasonry. "This Tiris Frosthair seems to have disappeared mid-sentence." He says, looking at the unfinished headstone. Investigation: 25
"No, I don't think so Klin, it's a slow work and it was just never finished." Ludolf says as he completes his investigation. "Shall we move on to that large house at the end of the street then?" He says to the others.
In the Stone Mason's shop and home Ludolf finds a small pouch of 50 gold. A meager sum that seems to be the man's life savings. The remainder of the shop is rather unremarkable. There is evidence of a tremendous amount of work that was left abruptly undone. Given the strangeness that has been occurring throughout this town it is a little unsettling how quiet and uneventful this building is.
Assuming you move on to the large building in the center of town as Ludolf suggested. You find a grand, two-story brick house has fallen prey to time and the elements like the rest of the village, but it remains in better shape than the smaller houses. Heavy wooden double doors are flanked by dark windows, and chimneys anchor the building at each corner, their masonry crumbling. In front of the house looms a wide, leafless tree. Its gnarled branches reach toward the clouds like twisted fingers, and its rough bark is pockmarked with large knots and beetle holes

"The mayors residence I would presume." Ludolf comments as they approach the building. "Perhaps we will find something more enlightening in there." He adds and motions for Daventry to enter. Perception: 18 Investigation: 18 Meanwhile Edgar keeps on scanning the village from above. Perception: 9
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Keep your bird in close contact, Ludolf. I'd like to know if any creepers make their way to a window or door while we go inside."Daventry holds her blade aloft, the bright blue light illuminating the interior as she makes her way to the main double doors. She releases the blade a moment, the rapier spinning slowly in place as if it ignores gravity's call. A hand gesture, a flash of magic, and the mage hand appears in front of Daventry to push open the double door. It looks different, this time - more defined and less ghostly than you remember, as if each joint were a point of light and each bone a connecting bright line.
"Klin! Are you ok?! What happened?" Pardot calls up
