"Matreous, seems we're lucky ta find ya. The Avowed were searchin' the keep proper, but no one thought to look in the Pillars 'til us. Seems like Seeker was an apt title... Anyway, I'm Daventry O'Wyrwood, and these fine friends o' mine have been most excited ta meet ya."
She motions to the others to allow them their own opportunity to introduce themselves.
"We are Seekers, Mastreous. And we are all certainly pleased to find you. Though probably for selfish reasons. You seem to have been assigned to gather our research." She comes over and gives the man a smile. "But we ARE glad to find you unharmed. And this place seems fabulous."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Yes, you don´t seem too grateful over us novice seekers seeking you out, but you should know that it took us a matter of minutes to do what your esteemed avowed didn´t manage in four days. But it may of course be that you are not that greatly missed by your brethren." Ludolf says dryly to Matreous with some contempt over his less than welcoming attitude. "I take it you are trapped here then. Does the command word don´t open the gate in the other direction?"Ludolf says as it dawns upon him that Matreous otherwise would have simply returned to Candlekeep on his own accord. Arcana to investigate gate from this side:6
The aged elf looks the group of you over and sighs, "Really, they assigned me to be your errand boy... been eons since I was given that task..."He looks longingly around the mansion and continues, "You are right this place is fabulous and I can't just leave there is so much left to see. There is no telling what secrets Fistandia has hidden away here."
When Ludolf mentions leaving you seem him get a bit uncomfortable clearing his coat and fidgeting with his collar, "Ahem... well you see... I am sure I would have figured it out eventually but you are right the command word to open the portal does seem to be different on this side... but that doesn't matter now you are here and the way is clear. Tell you what. I am old frail elf it would take me a very long time to explore this place. Why don't you all explore the place, find whatever you can and I'll get to work on your requests. I can arrange a ritual on the other side of the portal to keep it open indefinitely so you don't have to worry about getting stuck."
Pardot as he is speaking you see him fidgeting with a gold trinket it appears to be some sort of brain shaped statuette.
@Ludolf -- The magics on this side are even more powerful they seem stable and confirm your earlier suspicion this is some modification of Mordenkainen's Magnificent Mansion
"Seeing as I have little else to do with my time while waiting for you to collect the books I´ve requested I will definitely use this time to explore these facilities." Ludolf says looking around the foyer. "This seems to be some sort ofmodified Mordenkainens Magnificent Mansion. Who is Fistandia? The wizard who created this place?" He then turns and asks the aged elf. Arcana/History to recognize the name Fistandia:9
Triäsa quickly responds after Ludolf. "I would certainly be willing to explore this place while waiting. Certainly better than sitting in The Hearth, as nice as that place is."
She then steps closer to the elf. "And it would be very interesting to know how this was done! It's so interesting. Well, not that we have time for such an in depth discussion right now. Anyhow."
She looks a little flustered as her curiosity ran away a bit. But she quickly composes herself. "You will return when you have our information then? If so, I am all set to look around."
"I wasn´t much impressed with the service at the Hearth." Ludolf says dryly, but is clearly pleased over having Triäsa by his side while investigating this pocket plane.
"Who is Fistandia! You step into a permanent interdimensional pocket without any insight into who created it. Fistandia is second only to Mordenkainen himself in the creation, maintenance and use of pocket dimensions! Novices..." He blurts out in an exacerbated tone. "As far as this dimension is concerned I have not strayed far as I was concerned most with reopening the portal. I did find a cat wandering the halls. There is also a kitchen with some food and a pair of harmless homunculi if you get hungry"
As it seems the group is accepting of his offer he continues, "Well then it is settled. You find whatever nuggets of knowledge and secrets this mansion holds and I will go play secretary. I'll send your books to the front desk here at the Pillars once they are ready."
And with that he turns to move through the portal unless any of you have anything further for him.
Here is a visual of where you are. You are standing in the foray marked M1 the portal is behind you where the double doors are located. The stairs lead up.
"Knowing who Fistandia is didn´t do you much good trying to leave this place during the last four days it seems." Ludolf says dryly, while making a mental note of doing extensive studies into the works of this Fistandia.
"Yes you do that, and don´t forget that ritual to keep the portal open."Ludolf says as Matreous leaves through the portal, thinking the aged elf´s winning personality reminds him of someone...
"Daventry, you and your shield could perhaps take the lead? Let´s try to investigate the manison in some systematic fashion, going from left to right for instance." Ludolf suggests to Daventry as they are ready to investigate the manor. Perception when needed:21
(OOC: Not sure if marching order is an issue here but Ludolf could come in second.)
"Well. I certainly have heard of Fistandia," Triäsa says softly, to no one in particular. She politely thanks Mastreous as he goes, then turns her attention to the group.
"I agree that we should be systematic in our investigation here. Left to right works for me. Let us be on our way!"
(If we need an order she'll file next right behind Ludolf.)
Daventry nods. "Aye. Up front's fine for me, but keep an eye out for anything amiss before I go steppin' in interdimensional cat shite or worse."
She looks to the closest door, and nods towards the left/west. "We'll check that room first, and work our way down that hallway." Before approaching the door, and making sure no one is close to it, she raises her right hand and snaps a finger. Ribbons of blue energy swirl down her arm and around her hand, coalescing into a ghostly form that resembles her gauntleted forearm and fingers. Her irises seem to shine a vibrant, icy blue, intensified and glowing from her normal dark blue eyes. The spectral hand separates from her own and glides to open the door.
You'd notice that a similar blue glow comes from a spot on Daventry's upper right arm, just below the shoulder, about four inches in diameter. You can barely see it from underneath her linen shirt sleeve.
OOC: Turns out everyone has decent enough passive perception. Assuming no explosions, she'll enter the door and check out the room beyond.
"Aha, young Daventry, there´s more to you than sass and a blade it seems. Bravo." Ludolf says appreciatively, standing behind Daventry as she reveals her arcane abilities.

((damn y’all are active! :D ))
Noting the scholar’s nervousness and handling of his skull icon, Pardot files it away for later, though sensing no danger from him, finds no reason to mention it. He does however take special note of the mention of a house cat. Being out in the desert for so long studying the stars, Pardot often had few companions but animals, and finds that they are often better people than, well, people, are. He then is happy to follow behind the others as they explore, keeping his eyes peeled, as everyone else is, for anything moving, or out of the ordinary (though that’s tough to know in a pocket dimension, which, itself, is out of the ordinary.
Perception (in case higher than passive): 14
At Klin saying that she doesn’t trust him, right in front of his face, Pardot simply raises and eyebrow, but mentally shrugs and continues on his way.
"Ahh, secrets, there is nothing more intriguing than secrets. But I will read you like a book, and I will unveil them all in time young Daventry." Ludolf says, leaning in whispering the last part.
"And you might want to give your protegé some more social advice." He adds, still whispering in Daventry´s ear.
