As he readies himself for the return trip to Candlekeep Edgar comes flying again and draws his attention to Daventry and Triäsa coming back from their walk. Ludolf sighs and walks off to meet them. "I'm truly sorry for what I said earlier Triäsa, please let me explain." He says to Triäsa as he comes up to them. "Can I borrow her for a while Daventry? The others are getting ready to leave I think. Tell them we will be back soon."
"Try not to jump to far realms, near realms, or really any realms. We've got a date over a bottle of wine to talk about boys and stuff when we get to Mieran." Daventry nods, giving Ludolf a sarcastic smile.
Triäsa is all smiles as she and Daventry return. "Ooo... are you going to tell me more things you have decided I need to know?" She says teasingly. "I would like to hear more about this apology though."
She comes over Ludolf. "Shall we take a short walk?"
Ludolf is relieved when he sees Triäsa seemingly in a better mood than when she left the chalet. He nods at Daventry as she leaves, a bit confused over her comment, he clearly missed something. "Yes a walk, I would like that." He says to Triäsa, turning and walking with her. Sometimes difficult conversations seemed easier when walking he thought. "About what I said before, I realize now how it sounded, condescending, but the things I kept out, well I'm not sure words could even describe them. I know that I said when we met that I would take you there, but now I know that I don't want for any of us to go there ever again."Ludolf says as he slowly walks with Triäsa. "But I fear I will have to eventually. I will not be able to stop you if you decided to follow me, but I hope you see that I wouldn't want you to and that that it is because I care for you." He says, going silent for a while, looking in the distance as he walks slowly further away from the chalet.
Triäsa shakes her head, "Oh Ludolf, it was REALLY condescending. Not like old grumpy pants Ludolf that was just mean. But new Ludolf that should have known better."
She still has a silly smile on her face as they talk. "Fine, I get you worry about me and don't want me in harm's way. But it is MY choice. I am not going to sit at home and do nothing. I will take risks if I want to! And I am just as capable as you are. If someday you must go back then I WILL need to know more so I can be prepared. But I decide if I need to know - not you!"
She gets quite loud and ends turning to you, poking you in the chest. "Got it old man!" Triäsa is definitely far from mad, and she seems kind of playful.
"Now, let's continue our walk."
She continues along the path they were walking and the two eventually make it back to the others at the chateau.
Ludolf follows along, content with just walking, Triäsa's presence chasing away his harrowing images of the Far Realm. Before they get back to the chalet he stops and gives Triäsa another hug. "You know, the thought of your lovely singing voice, of you, was really the only thing that kept me sane."He says, looking down at Triäsa with a grateful smile.
As they get back Ludolf seems to be in a better mood again. "Are we rady to leave?"
Triäsa is also ready to get out of this place; her walk seemed to have cooled her off. "I hate leaving knowing the silhouette man got that box. And there's still very likely a portal here. And I'm not sure the raven watchers are still here to keep an eye on it - whoever that woman was." She takes a breath. "I suppose it's best to get back to Candlekeep and let them know."
You all gather your things and set out back down the mountain. Edgar scouts the road ahead as you have all grown accustom to him doing. He flies back for snacks with Daventry every few minutes. Thankfully the Ettin you all avoided on the way up has moved on and does not bar your passage down. Pardot's sled works very well on the mountain but as you descend to the lower elevations you are reminded that it is indeed summer and you are forced to carry the gnome. Despite this you find the descent a much easier as your reach foothills before sunset. Pushing on you make it back to Maerin about an hour after the sunsets.
As you enter the town you find there is some sort of festival going on. Lanterns burn brightly and line the streets. The central open air market is filled with people eating all kinds of pastries and candies. There are three half-orcs on a makeshift stage playing a pleasant but rather aggressive sounding music. A banner behind them reads "Crossbows and Roses"
The people are Maerin are dancing, singing and drinking heavily. Very very heavily. The merrymaking is a welcome sight given all you have been through in the last few days. As you walk through the crowd, a well busty redhead nearly topples over as she crashes heavily into Klin spilling her ale all over his robes. She blushes and smiles in embarrassment, "Oh my!! I am so sorry!"She frantically apologizes. "Please let me buy you a drink I can be such a clutz. You look awfully tired... and very dirty...."She stammers as she looks drunkenly at the monk.

Daventry winks at Triäsa. "Tri, think you can clean up our monk friend with a bit o' that magic? I think he has suddenly found himself an adventure this night!"
Pardot looks all about him, and like all halflings, is quite excited for a feast and festival, though first is worried about getting their charge off her sled and into a bed somewhere to rest. As the band plays their signature track, "Welcome to the Jungle", Pardot makes note of some booths he'd like to visit and says, "Let us get her to a bed. Then I could use a pint or two after everything we've faced the last few days. Should we try to find a healer here? Or just a bed at an Inn?"
"Oh my! You have wonderful friends!" Impressed by his new look and fresh appearance the women smiles mischievously, then aggressively grabs Klin by the arm and drags him out to the grassy clearing to dance, her promise of ale forgotten in the excitement.

Daventry laughs. "Poor lad, think that might do him in. Aye, Pardot, let's go back to the same inn as before.. and maybe ask if there's a doc around town to take a look at her."She sighs, considering the festival, and suddenly not wanting to miss it. "Responsibility first, drink quickly after. Shall we?"
Dav will help Pardot get Fistandia to the inn, hoping to get a room and maybe some broth, and ask if there is a town healer that might be around.
"I will come with you Daventry," Triäsa says. "We should get rooms straightened out and you guys can get Fistandia settled in. I can track down a healer." Her gaze wanders to the various festivities going on. "Though chances are if we find a doctor, he is going to be drunk!"
"I don't expect a place like Maerin to have someone qualified to treat Fistandia..." Ludolf starts a bit gruffly. "..but of course I will help you look Triäsa." He adds quickly, gving her an apologetic smile, following along to the inn. "Is it really safe to leave Klin by himself?"He asks as they walk. As he gets to the Inn he tries to find Mr. Grosvenor.
Daventry shrugs. "After surviving one set of mountains, I'm sure he can handle another pair. But if you want, you can keep an eye out while we get Fistandia to bed..."
Ludolf chuckles at Dav's joke. "No, you're right Daventry, we'll see where we can collect him tomorrow morning though. I'm going to see Mr. Grosvenor." He says, following along to the inn.
(Yes, sorry, he disappeared earlier and I'm not sure when he came back. Or was he with me the whole time? Don't think we mentioned him.)

"Of course!" Triäsa hurries over to Klin. With a quick word and a motion of her hand she uses Prestidigitation to clean him up.
She gives him a pat on the shoulder. "Good as new, Klin! Go enjoy a drink with this fine woman!"
