@Klin -- You are (reluctantly?) whisked away to a crowded clearing just in front of the band. Music fills the air and your red headed companion sways back and forth with you. "M'name's Maddy in case you were wondering, a bit rude of you not to ask but I'll forgive you... once..." She winks and continues on, "You're a pretty good dancer! Generally that means you haven't had enough to drink but we will fix that right up." Out the corner of your eye you see your friends head off into the Bored Weasel with gnome. The band finishes Welcome to the Jungle and the tempo changes dramatically as they slow it down with their well known power ballad Knockin' on Kara-Tur's Door. Maddy looks at you with a drunken gaze as she throws her arms around your neck.
The rest of you head into the Bored Weasel and find it rather empty as most everyone is outside drinking and listening to the music. Mr Grosvenor recognizes you immediately and smiles sincerely. "You're back. Did you find what you were looking for? Was Vermeillon everything you expected it to be?"

"Good evening Mr. Grosvenor. Vermeillon was...interesting."Ludolf starts. "The curse that once befell your village has now been lifted and should anyone so desire it should be safe to return there and resume activities in the platinum mine. We also visited your parents grave Mr. Grosvenor, put Snowdrop Blossoms there, I hope they would have appreciated those." He continues. "I'm certain that they would be proud of you Mr Grosvenor, making it in life." He says, looking around in the inn. "Now we would need five rooms for the night, one with an extra bed if possible. We have a gnome with us back who is not at all well. If you know anyone in Maerin that could take a look at her we would most appreciate it."
The old man smiles, another tear gathering at corner of his eye as the weight of Ludolf's kind words hits him hard. He takes the dirty bar rag and wipes them dry."Thank you. You have no idea how much these words and efforts mean to me. I wish I could repay you for this kindness...." He gathers himself before continuing, "Unfortunately I don't have 5 rooms... the festival has us booked nearly to capacity. I have one room, it's got two beds... plenty big for all of you though. It's yours for as long as you want it. Free of charge."
He shakes his head when you ask about a healer, "Closest we have is Wynather, elven lass has some talent with potions. She will be plenty busy tonight, makes a potion that washes ale right out of your system. Popular at the festival.... Sober yourself right up and start drinking again. Think Maddy has already gone through 2 or 3 of them...."
"So you did meet Thavol?"He says toward Daventry "Good kid he is but always a loner unless you count his pipe... No family here in town I don't know much about him or where he came from but there was a young Goliath that used to come by that was pretty sweet on the boy, quite the odd couple but they both loved the mountain."
He would talk to you as long as you want. In addition to the free room he also lets you drink for free tonight should you desire.

Pardot smiles and says, "Thank you. One room will be enough. I'm happy on the floor, and these skins,"he points to those on the ice sled, "Will be soft enough for me."He then looks to the group and says, pointing to the sleeping gnome, "We should get her settled first. Do you think she's ok to leave alone in the room? I would love to check out the festivities, and see what has happened with our friend outside."he adds with a laugh.
"Six people for two beds. Well, it sounds like we will have to make it work." Triäsa shrugs. "We should just keep one just for Fistandia." Triäsa then looks over at the others. "I can stay with her. Go enjoy some of the festivities Pardot. You too Daventry. I'm sure you could use a bit of recreation time."
"I'm not really in the mood for festivities, you go ahead if you want Triäsa, I think Daventry wanted a girls night out or something. I will stay with Fistandia." Ludolf says, sounding tired but content.
Daventry gives Triasa a wink. "Come, then. We'll leave Ludolf to... reflect? Brood? Regardless, I don't want to miss the bards! After the past few days, could use a bit o' life and warmth in my life!"
She will proceed directly to the festival, then directly to an alestand inside said festival, and then directly to dancing. She'll keep an eye out for Klin, but not much of one.
Hearing Ludolf's suggestion he would stay, Triäsa hesitates only briefly. "You are sure Ludolf?" She is however quick to follow Daventry as she heads out. Just as she leaves, she stops to give Ludolf a quick smile. "We will certainly miss your festiveness while we are out!"
Following Daventry, Triäsa grabs an ale as well. She actually kind of forgot about Klin. And Pardot for that matter! But she is very interested to hear what the musicians are playing and to join in with the dancing.
"This is nice. All the people. All enjoying themselves," she says to Daventry.
"If you need a break, or want a pint, send Edgar to find me and I'll bring one right up!" Pardot says after making sure that the room is set up, and that Ludolf is ok to watch after the poor gnome. He then heads downwards and accepts the first, of likely a couple too many, pint from the friendly innkeeper before heading out to explore the festivities.
"It makes me glad we faced the darkness up there... I could only imagine that nest growing more and more and eventually bringing it's horror down the mountain..." Daventry grins at the music, the lights, the feel of the crowd. "I much prefer life. Steels the resolve, you know?"
"I had not thought of that way, but you are right Dav," Triäsa says. "Maybe the saddest part about Vermeillon was that nobody was there anymore. Seemed like it might have been a nice little town before. You suppose someone will go and try to reopen the mine?" She sips at her ale, not quite fully into the celebratory mood of the place quite yet.
"What is the plan for the night?" Triäsa then laughs. "Although I suppose 'plan' is not how these things usually work!"
The room you are shown is actually very nice and quite large. There are two queen sized beds with empty footlockers. Night stands flank each bed. Two large windows look out over the market giving you a nice view of the festivities down below. The night sky is clear and there are hundreds of star dotting a crystal clear night. The rest of the room contains a desk with chair as well as two larger wingback chairs near a hearth and coffee table.
Ludolf heads up stairs and settles the gnome into the bed. She continues to toss and turn in a fit of restlessness with beads of a cold sweat on her forehead. You do your best to make her comfortable but nothing seems to help. As her fits continue you try to make out the words she mumbles but it seems to be incomprehensible ramblings of a mad women. Her torn and dirty robes are soon drenched in sweat with the gold necklace tossing with each movement. It seems like hours but eventually she passes out from exhaustion and you are left alone in a silent room.
Maddy wraps her arms around Klin and tries to keep him close as the music changes but Klin, Master of Dance, smoothly steps to the side and starts to engage in the crowd at large. While his moves are coordinated and rhythmic, most folks pay him little attention. Thankfully, this applies to Maddy also and he is able to slip away from the women and make his way to front of the inn just as the other are walking out.
The crowd is starting to get pretty rowdy and drunk but there are few quiet wooden tables to sit and watch the music. The ale being served is all the same, it is very good. It has a deep rosy pinkish coloration to it. It has a taste that is a refreshing mixture of fresh berries with a hint of citrus and hibiscus flowers. The stage is about a hundred yards to the north with a clearing filled with people from all walks of life drinking, dancing, singing and drinking more. Behind the crowd sit a number of wooden tables most of which are empty. The entire area is flanked by a variety of vendors selling ale, candied apples, chocolates and small toy swords and shields. It's rather late but there are still children running and playing in the grass as their parents drink and dance.

Enjoying a second pint already, Pardot wanders around often looking up at the stars. Though he loves some good music, he's less a dancer, and more a listener, so will be walking around the festival looking to see if there are any groups of people gathered around sharing gossip or stories of the region and camp down to listen.
"Yes, well I'll just stay here brooding."Ludolf says with a weak smile as Daventry and Triäsa leaves. "Thanks Pardot, that's kind of you, I appreciate that, we'll see if my mood gets any better."He says to the halfling before heading up the stairs. Up at the room he ceates a mental alarm, excluding the others. He also creates an unseen servant to help him out with taking care of Fistandia. He then moves a wingback chair by Fistandia's bed and takes a seat, trying to make her as comfortable as possible, using magic to keep her cool and clean her up. He tries his best to discern what she mumbles. When she finally passes out Ludolf's own living nightmare comes back to haunt him, assaulting his mind with images of the Far Realm. After enduring this torture for a while Ludolf realizes the brooding is not helpful at all and sends Edgar out to check on the festivities. Edgar perception if relevant: 18
Daventry looks to Triäsa. "Plan? Hah! Forge forward and find what destiny has in store!" She heads to the front of the crowd, a '**** it not only did I almost die in a dank cave, I almost lost all my friends the same' cavalier attitude. She will find the first willing lad or lass and dance with them.
(Before she left the room, Dav would have also dumped all her stuff at the room with Ludolf and Fistandia, including her blades, though she kept her armor on.)
(Triäsa would then leave most her weapons, keeping her armor and 2 daggers. And of course her lute.)
Triäsa really has no reply for Daventry's comment. She sticks around with her - not too close if she's dancing with someone - and just dances by herself. She tries to pace herself with the drinks and just enjoys listening to the performers.
You grab one of the festival ale's and start walking through the crowd. You come across a group of elves who have traveled from the north. Naturally the conversation turns to your new "home" (if you call it that). The elves are scholars and were hoping to gain entry but were promptly turned away. Not because their books were not good enough but because the Keep was suffering some sort of curse and is quarantined. Dejected they decided to come to Maerin having heard of the festival and intend to return to Candlekeep in a few weeks when they hope it will be open again.
@Daventry
You head off into the crowd! It's a wild and crazy place there people swaying and sweating and singing along with the music. You drink you laugh and you make friends with a good number of people. Of particular note you come across Maddy who does not seem to be too upset after Klin ghosted her. She has moved on to a rather stout dwarven female. You have a tremendous amount of fun, it has been a very long time since you let your hair down. Just as the music is winding down you find yourself dancing with one of Maerin's locals. A kind young man maybe 20 years old, an above average dancer with dirty blonde hair, you have no idea his name and perhaps you don't care but he does offer you a more comfortable sleeping arrangement.... You may have advantage on your next social skill check regardless if you go with him or not.
@Ludolf
You sit by the window and look down the festival. It's hard for you to pick up faces or recognize people but it seems like everyone is having a good time. Edgar takes to the sky but not long after he leaves you finds a pile candied nuts on the ground and spends all his time eating snacks off the ground. You soon get bored staring at the ground and so you look up. It is a beautifully clear night. You can see hundreds of stars against the mountain you just descended. You stare at the stars of a while probably too long. You see a shooting star, then a second one and then a third. How very odd.
@Triäsa
You dance with Daventry for a while as she hops from partner to partner. You soon find yourself alone in a mass of people. You look around for Daventry or Pardot or Klin but you don't see them. Then out of the corner of your eye you see someone moving differently. An older women, not too old but a bit out of place in the crowd. She looks familiar, she's a bit shorter than you... rich auburn hair and darker skin.... She walks away from you as you watch... and just as she is about to disappear into the crowd she turns around and looks at you with unmistakable metallic gold eyes. She smiles.
