Ludolf listens and tries to be patient with the child. As she finishes he leans closer to Triäsa. "Ask her if she knows where we can find the shadow." He whispers.
Triäsa repeats Ludolf's question to Gailby. "Do you know where this shadows is?" She pauses and then adds, "I am sorry, this all is scary to me too. But we're trying to put a stop to it. And you're really helping us!"
"You want to find the shadow?!"Her eyes grow wide with awe "You must be very brave Miss. The only place I have ever seen it is my brain when I close my eyes real tight. I don't think you can you can go in my brain.... can you..." She steps back a little toward Crinkle.

"Well, it's a fairly complicated procedure." Ludolf says plainly, then taking a step back again, letting Triäsa do the rest of the talking to the child.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Daventry looks to the little girl. She's not too sure how to handle kids, but does pipe up.
"Gailby, we will find a way to drive off the shadow. Our own shadows tried to be mean to us, earlier, but we taught them to go back to their proper place on the walls and floors. We can find a way to do that with yours as well, I promise, and you won't come to any harm. Have you ever seen any other shadows act weird?"
Arcana: 13 - Daventry tries to connect the dots for the possession? Connection? that this girl has, and when they too were attacked by shadows.
Pardot joins in just to add to what Daventry is saying, "She's right. Shadows belong on the walls and floors. Not in our minds. But thank you for sharing this with us. You're quite brave too."
@Daventry -- You have no idea if the child is possessed or simply cursed. It is near impossible to tell the two conditions apart as far you know. As you try to reassure you the girl your voice cracks and quivers for moment. Needless to say the girl does not seem to be emboldened by your words.
Gailby looks at Ludolf and sort of cocks her head to the side as she tries to figure out what his comment meant. She gives up deciding that was too much thinking for the moment.
Just as Pardot finishes speaking the entire room goes deathly quiet. There are about 20 others in the central room sitting with their backs on the heavy heavy book cases. All at once they stand, getting to their feet in an awkward jerky motions. Their eyes roll back into their heads so that all you see is white. In harmony all of the occupants begin chanting the song in a monotone unnatural voice. They do not move, they just stare at all of you as their voices rise in volume.
Besides the five of you Varyn, Gailby, Crinkle and Fembris do not seem to be affected.... for now....

"Think we'd be better getting to one of the stairs? Seems better than being in the middle of... this," Triäsa quickly suggests. "Unless someone has a better plan." She doesn't draw a weapon but seems on the alert should there be an attack.
1. Klin's whole body starts wrenching and jerking in a spastic awkward manner. His eyes roll back in his head as his voice joins in the chant. Stiff as a board he becomes unresponsive the only sound the strange chanting escapes from his lips.
2. An inhuman ear piercing scream is heard from the north "high security area." Once the scream stops a similarly deafening high pitched singing rises above the chanting coming from the same area.
Fembris and Varynr throw their hands over thier ears in panic and pain. "What in blazes is happening now?" Varnyr sounds exhausted.
Crinkle quickly wraps her arm around the girl's ears "Time to go my dear let's go see the fireflies downstairs..." She then ushers her quickly to the stairs and out of sight before you have a chance to react.

Triäsa will also follow the others downstairs. As Klin starts acting oddly she hesitates just a moment, but quickly moves on. "We'll be back for you Klin. Hang in there."
Fembris nods as you all head toward the stairs. She sticks her fingers in her ears and calls out to you, "I'll go see what is making the screaming noise... Doesn't sound good...We can rendezvous with you all here under the giant stone book. Good luck, I hope you figure this out... I am getting worried." She then turns and head to the north door. Varnyr gets up and silently follows her.
You make your way back down the stairs. You pass the chanting husks as you do. They make not movement toward you but their creepy white eyes seem to follow your every movement. Their rhythmic chanting haunting your ears and the screeching high pitch singing from the north rings out over top it all.
As you get back to the bottom floor you find it quiet. The chanting carries a bit into the long hallway but by the time you get back to the kitchen you can't really hear it anymore. The door to the east is open as you left it. You see Crinkle and Galiby enter the door at the far end of the hallway. There remains a few other doors that are unexplored down here.

Ludolf nods at Triäsa, ready to follow Daventry into the next room she chooses to investigate, hoping to find the accursed shadow before madness breaks them all. Perception: 19
Moving into the hallway you open the first door on the left. This appears to be a rather bland dormitory type room. Two beds, positioned on opposite walls, flank a washbasin in an otherwise bare room. Both beds are made, but the blanket on one of them is a bit rumpled. There are no other obvious items as you enter the room.
Ludolf listens and tries to be patient with the child. As she finishes he leans closer to Triäsa. "Ask her if she knows where we can find the shadow." He whispers.

Ludolf smiles awkwardly at the child after his comment about going into her brain.
"We should get back to those quarters and continue our investigation." Ludolf says making it for the stairs down.
As you head for the stairs two things happen:
1. Klin's whole body starts wrenching and jerking in a spastic awkward manner. His eyes roll back in his head as his voice joins in the chant. Stiff as a board he becomes unresponsive the only sound the strange chanting escapes from his lips.
