Cursewords interpose into Daventry's rhyme where she can muster the willpower, but that just serves to make it a far fouler version of itself.
After dropping the armoire, she looks to Pardot with sympathy, giving his shoulder a soft pat, before changing her expression to a look of concern as he mentions the Man in Black. Meanwhile the rhyme continues unabated from her mouth.
She motions back to the hallway, her mage hand serving as a beckoning beacon to lead Pardot back to the rest of the group.
You feel the wave of the rhyme wash over your body you see each scene described in the rhyme play out in gruesome gory detail in your brain. You can feel yourself lose control and sing the song but are helpless to stop it. The scenes of the song play out in your theater of the mind over and over again as the words slide from your mouth. Then as suddenly as it started it stops. You blink a few times and find yourself underneath the giant, heavy stone book on the middle floor. You companions are nowhere to be seen. Fembris, Varyrn and the other are gone as well.
You hear a horrid continuous screaming mixed with singing coming from the north end of the hallway near the north restricted area. Shortly after that you see a paniced Tabaxi run full speed up the stairs toward the upper floor. You have no idea where your friends are.
What will you do?
Triäsa You search the room quickly and thoroughly. It is clearly a temporary room for visiting scholars. You find a few books on the desk with a note that indicates they are for someone named K’Tulah. You are not sure but it appears the occupant has been in this room for about a week, maybe a little less. The oyster is a mechanical device and looks like it might play music. There is a small key in the top desk drawer that looks like it would fit in the back of the oyster to wind it.

Somewhat hesitantly, Triäsa takes the key and tries it in the mechanical device. If it fits, she would give it just a quarter-turn wind to see what it does.
The tabaxi ignores Klin's calls and continues sprinting up the stairs to the cellar entrance. "Let me out of here! We are all going to die!" The tabaxi screams as he begins punching the hatch you entered from. His strikes have an unnatural strength behind them.
The small oyster accepts the key and the clockwork device winds easily. As you release the key the device unwinds and soothing ocean sounds emanate from the contraption. The sounds are in stark opposition to the harsh song you have been singing. Perhaps it is coincidence or not but you all regain your composure and stop singing the rhyme.
...for now...

Licking his slightly chapped lips, Pardot, listening to the sounds of the ocean pulls out his waterskin to drink deeply, glad of the respite from singing. He then quietly says, not that everyone can hear, "I'm not sure if I just bumped my head... but I'm sure I heard the Man in Black laughing at me. Is it possible he's behind this? Or perhaps just watching?"then looking to the oyster music box adds, "That soothing sound... did it allow us to stop singing? Should we take this to the others and try again?"
Triäsa nods in agreement with Pardot. "I am not sure if it was the sound from this device, but it did seem to help. Let's hang onto it and go through the rest of the rooms. Then we can go upstairs and see if it helps the others."
She then turns to Ludolf, "You know, now that I can think a bit, when I hear or sing that rhyme, there's just something in my mind that something about it is missing. Though I cannot put my finger on it. It seems really risky, but I wonder if we could subvert it? You know, write our own lyrics or something?" She shakes her head with a sigh, "Though I don't even want to think about that to come up with something."

"The Man in Black, here? Could he be the shadow, this Shemshime the cursed rhyme mentions?" Ludolf ponders aloud.
"I'm not sure what you mean Triäsa, something missing? Do you think if we come up with a stanza of our own we could defeat this Shemshime?" Ludolf says, trying to grasp what Triäsa is saying. "But yes, let's keep the oyster, hopefully it can help others as well." He adds, turning to investigate the next room. Investigation:16

You all move to the last door on the right and open it. This room is the exact copy of the empty dorm like room you saw before. It is barren and plain. A quick but complete search does not reveal anything of interest. Disappointed you move back to the hallway when you see the small silhouette of Fembris coming bounding down the corridor in a gnomish panic. "Hey! Uh, glad I found you... Small problem... I think.. The walls upstairs.... are screaming... and bleeding... Not sure... didn't know walls could bleed..." She pants and spits the words out at you between gasps of air. "Everyone... Is still staring.... and singing... this is getting REALLY bad.... You should probably fix this.... soon.... please...."
Klin The Tabaxi whirls in anger as you grab at her, "GET OFF OF ME!! I WILL NOT DIE HERE." She then tries to push you down the stairs and away from her.

"I'm not sure what you think we all have been doing since we entered the Firefly cellar Fembris?" Ludolf growls in frustration as he has absolutely no clue what do do next. "Let's see if the oyster can somehow help." He says, motioning to Triäsa, Daventry and Pardot to follow him upstairs again.
(We have searched this level without finding any suspicious looking book or music box right?)
(You have searched all of the side rooms. The only door left would be the one at the end of the hallway that Crinckle and Gailby went through. You have not found anything other than the oyster)
"Sorry Mr Ludolf. I know you are doing your best. I am just scared and it just seems to be getting worse and worse. Now there is blood coming from the walls and all the people upstairs are just off staring at me with their creepy white eyes while they sing. It's all just a bit much."

Ludolf nods absentmindedly to Fembris, looking intently at the door at the end of the hallway. "There is something I must do..." He says and walks off, determination in his gray piercing eyes, going through the door to follow Crinckle and Gailby.
Seeing the door locked when Ludolf tries it, Triäsa then approaches it as Ludolf goes to follow Fembris. "Crinkle! Are you in there? We just wanted to take a quick look." She knocks quickly on the door as she speaks.
As Triäsa knocks the door opens a bit and the old kenku looks out. "Look around here?! For what cause. The only thing here are the fireflies and my personal affects." You can see a bit past her into the room. The room is crawling with wingless, larval fireflies. Hundreds of these tiny glowworms cling to every surface, shedding light throughout. A canvas hammock hangs between two pillars near the center of the room. You also see Gailby playing with a few of the fireflies who have landed on her the back of her hand. The little girl appears rather happy.

"It will be quick I can assure you, and then we will leave you alone again."Ludolf says making an effort to be gentle, adressing the kenku as he comes up behind Triäsa. Persuasion: 11 assuming help from Triäsa, otherwise go with first roll.
The kenku seems a bit reluctant she looks nervously over her shoulder at the little girl and then back at you all before acquiescing. "OK but please be very careful. The fireflies are very fragile and we would be lost without them."She steps aside and opens the door the rest of the way. The room is not terribly large but packed with the bugs. Crinkle moves and stands along the north wall as you enter. The bugs flicker and dance in the room providing a good amount of light. It's an impressive sight as the little dots of light dance in the air and crawl over every inch of the room.
Gailby smiles as you walk in, "Aren't they wonderful! Daddy doesn't let me come in here very much but it's my favorite place in the whole world!"She smiles widely as the bugs dance around her fingers. Outside of what noted from the door you also see an engraving of a goat wearing a crown that leans against the north wall. It's about 3 feet tall and you'd guess it weighs around 150lbs.
Fembris stays in the hallway you can tell she is anxious to move on as she paces a bit back and forth.
