As he finally completes his research into the name of Yellowcrest, Ludolf realizes it is quite late and he hurries back to the mansion, quickly heading for the kitchen to ask the spicy twins to fix him a night sandwich and a beer. He then finds Triäsa and gives her a look of apology. "I...I am sorry Tri, I was so caught up in my research, I didn't realize how late it was, have the others gone to bed already?" He says, taking a seat in the dinner room, waiting for his sandwich and beer to be served.
Triäsa is sitting just playing her lute. She stops when she hears Ludolf's voice. "Oh, I've not been here long. And I don't think any others are back yet. I'm afraid I mostly found that Matreous seems to have had no friends. A kind but nosy old woman seemed to be the only one that even kept any tabs on him. She mentioned the bag like we heard about at the stables. And she said he seemed more preoccupied than normal. So perhaps something was up for a bit, but I don't think I really learned anything new." She gives Ludolf a smile. "How about you?"
"Oh, not much really, but apparently the Yellowcrest murders were pretty big news when they occurred five years ago. Lord Viallis Yellowcrest was away on business when his entire family was gruesomely murdered. His family included two sons, Malik and Janus, and one daughter, Tianna and his wife Maria. The family owned several tanneries and shoemaking shops in Waterdeep, but most of it's wealth was inherited on Maria’s side. As far as I could tell the case is still unsolved. Not sure what this old story could have to do with Matreous but I have a feeling we will find out eventually." Ludolf explains, glancing frequently over at the kitchen for the spicy twins to deliver his order.
The twins bring your food as you all talk and report your findings and discuss your plans for the next day. The remainder of the evening will eventually pass without note.
(I'll move along to the next day sometime tomorrow, 16ish hours from now, feel free to do whatever I'll check in and post as needed.)

Pardot is in the dining room with Greenie discussing plans for the following day. Knowing he only has one day to kick things off, he wants to make sure the Keep can become sustainable without his oversight.
Pardot sits talking with a half-orc at the end of the table. The man is a strange amalgamation of farmer and.... well..... orc.... He wears the dirties overalls you have ever seen (Obviously there is no shirt underneath) with a straw hat on a bald head. He has a very large great ax strapped to his back and he eats veraciously from any and all meat that is put in front of him. He quickly throws any plant based food on the floor. His skin is grey and you would put him at 6'8" 275 of pure orcish muscle.
He listens intently as you discuss your plan and you can tell he is very enthusiastic and eager to start at first light.
"It's an excellent f***in' plan!" He almost screams between bites, "I got a Godd*** question though."He drinks heavily from his mug of ale, "Any rules for this f***in' job? If I am goin do it then I am gonna do it my f***in' way. Crops need tough love, can't be raisin' no sissy corn or anythin'. You let me do it you'll have meanest mother f***in crops on the coast."
Daventry rushes into the room, a look of relief on her face as she sees the others. "Right. Dinner. Glad I didn't miss you all at least. I found something - seems like there's a darker tale to the history of Grippli, where that village is." She looks at Ludolf specifically. "This might be right up your alley, though you and everyone else should steel yourself... what I'm about to show you is... kinda disturbing, to say the least.'
Daventry clears off her space at the table, shooing off the Spice Twins before they can serve her food, and plops out a ball of wet clay. She removes three intricately carved wooden cylinders, which she puts into a specific order and starts rolling out the clay into a sort of unbaked tablet looking creation. Upon this tablet is a series of panels, filled with pictograms and dwarvish inscriiptions. She offers to translate the dwarvish for anyone who needs it.
The first cylinder in a mixture of dwarven script with a variety of pictograms. The pictures display a simple Grippli, proud and strong he stands on what appears to be a coast line looking at the horizon. In dwarvish a single word next to this panel says A New Beginning.
In a middle panel shows to Grippli and many giants crabs some of which are captured in nets and cages, in dwarven it reads Food.
In a bottom panel 5 Grippli are shown loading cages of crabs onto boats with the word Prosper scrawled next to it.
The second cylinder shows a snake crawling through the grass toward a village the word Danger accompanies this. In the middle panel the snake has grown very large with the arms and top of a human, similar to Yuan-Ti but something seems off about it. Dead Grippli liter the ground around the creature and another is in the creatures mouth being devoured. This panel reads Death. The bottom panel shows hundreds of crabs escaping from cages and running to the sea, it reads Despair.
The final cylinder is one large picture. At the top is a single, large word YIG. It shows a ruined temple standing amongst the destruction of a village. In the forground is a creature the likes you have never seen. It's lower body is that of a snake, tail scales just as you would expect but as you look at the creatures top you see that it has a hydra like thicket of snakes as a head swirling around a single eye.
Daventry looks to Ludolf after finishing the tablet. "Have you ever heard of this YIG thing? Looks horrifying, and if that's what's befallen the island..." she trails off.
Pardot smiles at the orc, knowing that his excitement is exactly the reason he could be trusted to get it done. Adding, only somewhat matching his friend's speaking style, "Greenie my friend, I'm just gonna bless the ground and make it ****in' rain tomorrow. After that we got shit to do. From there, you're the man! The Keep needs to be able to feed its people. Anything else you need from me? Or anything I can pick up on the trip?"
"You make it rain and I'll bring the f***in' hoes and other farming equipment." Greenie smiles, "But I don't need a damn thing. You take care of whatever hero shit you got and when you back you'll have corn up to your mother f***in' ears" He holds his fist out for a bump to seal the deal.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Pardot reaches up and across the table to return the fist bump saying, "Get some rest tonight. Tomorrow we got work to do."He then makes his way over to his companions looking at the tablets and trying to think of what he knows of Grippli, as well as what the YIG creature might be.

Slowly eating his night sandwich and drinking his beer, Ludolf looks over at Pardot and the unknown half-orc invited into the mansion, seeming a bit annoyed over all the profanities and not overly fond of his attire either as Daventry comes rushing into the room. Ludolf quickly finishes his sandwich before joining the others to take a closer look at the items Daventry brought to the table.
The tablets are exactly as Daventry describes, the tragic tale of a grippli village. The first three seem mundane pictures and dwarven text carefully rolled into clay telling their tale. The fourth is different... horrible in the creature it describes. Even the word at the top, YIG, sends a shiver down your bones to your very soul. Like strange symbol you keep encountering this image is enough to shake even seasoned adventurers like yourselves.
Those of you who fail take 3 loss to your sanity, you lose 1 point on a success. You each gain 1 point in LotFR.
Unfortunately, Ludolf does not recognize this creature or the name.
Pardot -- You are familiar with the grippli at least in a general sense. They are race of anthropomorphic frogs which live in quiet, peaceful matriarchal communities. These communities are often secluded from civilization in jungles and swamps. Not particularly strong or skilled in magics they are often preyed upon by other races and monsters. They are skilled at trapping sea life and insects for food and it is not uncommon for them to be involved in trade for protection.

"Disturbing indeed." Ludolf says with a slight shudder as his piercing gray eyes studies the picture with the snake abomination. "I have never heard of this YIG but it would certainly be worth exploring." He adds, seeming more eager to visit the island now. "Maybe we should all rest now so we can be ready to leave with that ship tomorrow." He suggests, looking around at the others at the table.
Ludolf nods. "Yes, hopefully we will find something that will help us prepare for this...thing." He says, casting another quick glance at the disturbing picture of the snake abomination. "Sweet dreams now everyone." He says dryly and gets up to leave for upstairs.
Pardot, yawning as he heads to his room to find Pockets says, “I’ll be busy tomorrow out on the farm, I’ll catch you at dinner and you can fill me in on what you find. Sleep well…”
One by one you all retire to your rooms, it is very, very late. The night passes quickly and you have dreams, dreams of things you don't remember. You awaken with the memory of your forgotten dream fresh in your mind.
Pardot has long since left for the fields to start on his project the rest of you go about your morning routine and prepare for your impromptu meeting with Captain Jans at the Hearth. (Feel free to do whatever you'd like in the AM, again I don't think you can really get any substantial research in during this time)
As noon approaches the three of you gather and head off to the Hearth. A short walk through the Emerald Gate and Court of Air to your familiar destination. Typically on a day a ship arrives it cause of celebration; drinking, singing and more drinking all around. Today the feel in the Hearth is much, much more subdued almost sad. Soft music plays, no one is dancing and everyone is eating a very bland, thin and empty soup. The ship's crew are scattered about the large dining hall drinking in relative silence.
Mitor Jans, the captain of the Dog Ear, sits alone at a table by himself. He is drinking heavily from a large flagon of ale and smoking a pipe while he gazes out across the room with a hallow, empty stare. There are four empty seats across from him.
Captain Jans is not an imposing figure. A middle aged man who is clearly weather by a life at sea is surprisingly thin and of average height. His hair is an equally thin mess of salt and pepper on top of head and accompanied by a poorly maintained beard. He wears fresh, clean robes of the Avowed though the rest of him is flithy.
Pardot -- what is your morning and afternoon like, how are you preparing the grounds and what exactly are you up to?
