Just before surely being walloped by the first attack, Daventry drops to a knee as she tries to brace. She has a look of both determination and panic in her eyes, before, for just a split second, she closes her eyes and appears to let go. She appears shocked by the sword's disappearance and the blast of energy that seemed to accompany it, her hair standing on end. In her surprise at her blade disappearing from her hand, she lets her guard down, and takes a glancing blow right to the face from the second attack. A bit of blood trickles down from her nose, but she winces and holds her sword arm in pain, just below the shoulder, as if that was where she received the blow instead.
She snarls, and finally aware of it, wipes the blood from her face with her hand before pulling out the dagger she'd taken from below from out of her belt. "Is that all you've got, you misbegotten set of penny dreadful pamphlets?"
She breathes deep.
Bonus Action: Second Wind 10
She charges in, her magic enhancing the dagger as she spins out of the way of a bookish flail, the small blade leaving a trail of light as she strikes.
Looking a tiny bit unsure of what to do, Triäsa throws her dagger at the bookcase. She looks concerned as she sees Daventry bleeding, and creeps forward a bit to be just behind the woman, hoping to not get hit again by the creature.

Relieved that Triäsa is back on her feet, Ludolf quickly realizes the foolishness of his action. He uses the powers of his deranged mind to push the chained books back in order to get them out of striking range. (Bonus action shove save str 15) He then moves back to Triäsa (possibly taking an attack of opportunity if the shove doesn't help) and turns his furious piercing grey eyes on the animated bookcase and blasts away. Triäsa casts a long glance at Ludolf as he appears to be stuck by the bookcase. Seeing he seems ok, she then turns her attention back ahead of her. Shortsword in hand, she presses forward a bit to try and get a blow in on their opponent. As she does so, she starts to sing softly:
"Golden-haired one with warriors heart, with music's refrain may you be inflamed."
(Attack: 15, Damage: 2 pierce)
(Bonus Action / Bardic Inspiration to Daventry: For 10 min may add 1d6 to one ability check, attack roll, or saving throw. May be added after seeing the roll.)
(OOC - I think Daventry's initiative is before mine. So it probably should apply to attacks AFTER this round. But if a save happens after it could be used.)
Ludolf staggers and grits his teeth as he is bludgeoned by a book, but his pride is even more hurt. "Enough of this" He furiously exclaims as his grey piercing eyes flashes again and grey eldritch force blasts the flailing chained books. Eldritch blast: 22 Force: 2 Necrotic: 5 He then mentally pushes the animated bookcase back. Save Str 15.
Daventry feints forward, then retracts, forming an intricate dance with the shorter blade. She goes for defense, instead of offense, her feint turning to parry and her feet shifting as she keeps her shield ready to block. As she moves, she continues taunting the library. "Why, not even a five year old could learn a thing from you, much less an aged gnome. Useless, you are!"
Her taunt released and her dance continuing, she hears Triäsa's song.
OOC: Will save that inspiration for the next round.
Edit: If Ludolf's shove is successful, Daventry moves forward to maintain being the only one in melee range, assuming that the shove pushes the library out of range of Triäsa.
Ludolf's blast lays into one of the chains holding a large red tome you can see, just for a second, the arcane bonds around the library weaken with the strike and then if by chance or skill Klin's dart flies through the air and strikes the chain at the exact spot. The combined strike causes the chain to shatter and the red book with the chain still attached falls to the ground with a loud noise.
The library recoils, not in pain, but in defense. It draws all of the tomes back to their shelves as chains unwind from behind the bookcase wrapping the tomes securely behind a wall of thick iron chains. The arcane energy leaves the Chained Library and the room is still, except for the sound of your deep, exhausted breaths.
You are out of combat. Good work!

Panting, blonde hair disheveled, and a bit of blood still trickling from her nose, Daventry starts laughing.
"By Umberlee's soiled underwear, if I had thought that a trip to Candlekeep would have had a set of magical books trying to bludgeon my face in, I might have stayed on the damn ship..."
As she speaks, she steps up on the desk and grabs the hilt of her blade. She gives the library a kick in the shelf as she dislodges the weapon. "Mine, you worthless street corner news stand."
She drops back down and looks up to the others. Between Klin's previous bludgeoning and the books slamming into Triäsa and Ludolf, Daventry looks genuinely concerned. "Are you three alright? That might have been... well... not so much what you scholarly sort signed up for."
Daventry wipes her upper lip with the back of her gauntlet, though there's a bit of blood still smeared on her face. She sniffs, then picks up the fallen red book, before holding it out to Ludolf.

Triäsa says, "I am fine now. But only thanks to that potion you gave me Daventry. I really appreciate that." She takes a moment to glance at the others, assuring herself the group is still intact. She then goes and retrieves her dagger from where it landed after throwing it. She looks about for the book that was sitting on the desk when they first came in, to see if it is still somewhere that can be reached. If so she picks it up and takes a glance it. (Investigation: 18)
"You're welcome, Triäsa. If we work together, we gotta depend on each other..."
Looking at both Triäsa and Ludolf, Daventry notes, "Though at some point we should have a chat on defending yourself... and maybe get you a crossbow, Triäsa..."
Triäsa nods a bit sheepishly. "Yea, I have... not really fought much. I have never carried a crossbow, but I have used smaller ones before. So that would be a good idea." She takes a deep breath. "I can heal people. But that does not really mean much if I am the one getting hurt!"
"I never even really considered traps either. I guess my curiosity got the better of me."
Looking over the book that fell free of the chained library you see it is a tome entitled, "Martial Attack Techniques, Vol 5. Flails." This seems to be a book dedicated to the mastery of flail weapons. Ironically, the book with the chain still attached you think would make an excellent flail. (Mechanically, with dedicated study this book will give the reader proficiency in flails. If you already have proficiency in flails you will get another +1 to damage with flails. The book on the chain is a +1 Flail when used as a weapon.)
The book on the desk fell to the floor in the chaos but is nearby though it seems to have a bit of blood on it, might be yours. Otherwise it is just like the other letter books throughout the mansion except it bears the letter L as you noted earlier.
