"Thanks again Daventry." Triäsa gives her a big smile. "I will look forward to working with you."
She turns her attention back to the bookcase. "So, are the rest of the books just stuck inside? There must be some way to make this thing give up the books." She examines it, although cautiously, and ready to flee away if it seems to 'awaken'. (Investigation: 16)
As Daventry is about to hand the book to Ludolf, she realizes the book itself is of martial subjects, and probably of little interest to the man. Feeling the weight of the chain, she hmms. "Speaking of practicing... Klin, maybe with a bit of study you could probably put this book to good use, in more ways than one." She gives the book-flail to the monk.
As the books re-lock themselves up, Pardot walks up and offers a handful of berries to anyone who would like to take one for a small bit of healing. ((I should have 6 left by my count))
He then wanders around the room looking for any other signs of life or marks that might indicate something they haven’t yet seen. ((Perception 11))
"Yes, you can stop pointing that finger at me Klin. I was angry over my own foolish behaviour if you must know, it will not happen again." Ludolf says gruffly while helping Daventry to clean herself up after the bloody fight (prestidigitation). "I'm ok, thanks for asking, it was mostly my pride that got hurt by that unhinged bookcase." He tells Daventry while accepting three of the berries Pardot offers him with a nod. "But yes, this was not what I expected when standing in line for entry to Candlekeep."
He then joins Triäsa by the now dormant bookcase, continuing his investigation. "Are you feeling better Triäsa? I admit you got me worried there for a while." He says in a lowered voice. New investigation if needed:11
As Triäsa looks over the library the books appear to be completely encased in the heavy metal chains. Touching them or trying to move them seems futile and when you do so the chains to dimly glow in the arcane light that surrounded the construct when it was attacking you. The harder you try to move the chains the more it seems to glow.
@Pardot/Ludolf This room is bare of anything else as it seems the entire purpose of the room is to house these books. The recent scuffle and chaos make it hard for you to say if the room has been recently visited or used.
"Thanks, Ludolf. Blood stains are a pain to get out, and I don't have much in the way of spare clothes."
"Mmm. Maybe let's not anger the evil bookcase again."Daventry eyes the construct as the rest continue to look around. "Well... I think that's it, then. Shall we find our liberty?"
"Don't menition it Daventry, we wan't to look nice and tidy while adventuring, don't we" He says smirking.
Thinking about it Ludolf realizes, to his own surprise, that he has enjoyed the company of the others, and is a bit reluctant to go back, but their adventure in the pocket plane seems to be at an end. "Yes, I guess it is time to go back. It will be interesting to finally see what fate Matreous met with." He says, readying himself to go back to Candlekeep.
"Do you think this Fistandia would mind terribly if we came here for a visit once in a while?" Ludolf asks the others as Cummin and Coriander prepares five cups of Crème Brûlée for the intrepid adventurers. "I will miss our little excursion and I hope this wasn't the last adventure we had together." He adds, looking uncharacteristically emotional over soon ending this adventure.
"Hah. Yeah, this was fun." Daventry licks her lips, recalling the taste of blood that was there minutes before. "Bit of wonder, bit of adrenalin. Killed a demon and not one but TWO evil pieces of furniture. Maybe next time we can take on a fiendish gazebo or something!" She grins. "But, seems like some of our interests are aligned, so perhaps we can keep helping each other out while we Seek."
Triäsa looks disappointed as they are unable to get past the metal chains. "Thank you Ludolf, I just blacked out there a moment. I feel quite well now, thanks to Daventry," she replies without giving the man much of a glance as she is focused on the bookcase. She does accept one berry from Pardot - assuming there is one left - and quickly eats it.
As hints of the arcane light return, she does stops probing the bookcase, although she continues to look at it for a few moments as she grabs her lute and absently plucks at a few strings. "I have an idea, but unfortunately I lack the necessary components," she says with a sigh. Finally turning from the enchanted item, she follows the others out. "Yes, it is time to get back to Candlekeep and see what happened with Matreous."
As you all leave the Chained Library and head back down stairs to the kitchen the mansion seems to be at peace. Cumin and Coriander are in the kitchen. They both look utterly exhausted. There is an army of about 20 cats prowling the kitchen, eating bits of well prepared fish and chicken. There are bowls of milk on the ground throughout the room. They happily agree to make you whatever dessert you would like along with any drink.
Pockets joins you all a few minutes later weaving between each of your legs before nestling next to Pardot.

Back in the kitchen, Triäsa will just take whatever dessert Daventry asks for - she doesn't want to put Cumin and Coriander to any extra work. Then she follows along, out to the area they entered. "Oh, thank you Daventry. I would love to. She approaches the section of wall where they had entered and says 'Liberty'."
Then slowly you feel the hairs on your arm raise and the skin along your finger tips starts to tingle. The air in front of the front door becomes hazy and the colors start to blur. As the picture comes back into focus you no longer see the front door but a pathway back to room 5 floor 32 of pillar 12.
The room look just as you left it except for one minor detail.
On the floor the room you see Matreous laying still in small pool of blood.

"Ooo, this is fun..." Triäsa says as she feels the tingling at her finger tips and the portal opens. But then, seeing Matreous, she looks concerned. "He does not look good."
She stays put inside the pocket dimension, looking out to see if she can catch a glimpse of anything else. (Perception: 4)
Drawing her sword, Daventry steps out into the room, also attempting to keep a keen eye and ear out.
Perception: 16
If she doesn't see anything, she moves to Matreous, setting down her blade to check the man's pulse and perhaps see if he's been dead since about when the portal closed.
On the way out, Pardot looks to Pocket and says in druidic, "If you'd like to stay here I'll try to visit again. I'd like to study the stars more anyway. Or if you'd like you can join us back outside."
He then follows the others out and rushes forward to help check on Matreous and if there is even the slightest hope of life will quickly put a berry into his mouth squeezing it as he does to release the juices as quickly as possible.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"What irony, he escaped that prison to be attacked and possibly killed just as he left it. Be careful Pardot, whatever did that to Matreous might still be around." Ludolf says following closely behind Daventry, placing himself, if possible, in front of Triäsa.
