Triäsa gives Yalerion a long look, trying to see if she can place him. (Intelligence: 22) "Oh, you are from Silverymoon? How much time did you spend there?" She asks a couple of questions about places near the Vault of Sages, and names a couple of not widely known but people he might have conceivably met there, just to see if he knows them. (Insight check to get an impression whether he is being fully truthful or not: 17)
Eventually she relents and answer his question, "Well, I am actually from Silverymoon. And worked in the Vault of Sages some. My mother was one of the sages."
(OOC - You alluded to 'the wine'. Probably nitpicking but he got her a glass but never filled it. But assuming he did fill her glass she would take a few very small sips. Presuming it is good wine she doesn't do anything. But otherwise, she tries to subtly cast Prestidigitation to add a few added notes that better suit her tastes.)
Pardot has been listening all along and looking to the star mark simply adds, "The stars' influence are usually much less... direct... than that. But to have such a connection seems like a blessing! My studies have given me a connection with the nature around me, which is quite different from yours. The heavens really do bestow amazing gifts."
"Fascinating." Ludolf says as Daventry finishes. "Yes, a blessing perhaps, or a curse, the two are sometimes hard to tell apart." he pauses briefly studying the tatoo. "I believe we would all like to help you solve this mystery Daventry, maybe if you let me see that tome you keep. I am confident I will be able to get something out of it." He says to Daventry, gazing at her with his grey piercing eyes. (Eyes of the runekeeper should at least enable Ludolf to understand the words if not the information they relay.)
Daventry thinks a moment. "Perhaps after we figure out this mystery in front of us. There's a bit of a process for holdin' it, and it's not meant for a place so public."
(I forgot to mention that the brand lit up with blue glowing light when she cast that mage hand, the similarities to the constellation of the Warrior Women even more apparent.)
Triäsa you do recognize the man from the vault. He was there nearly constantly, he always paid the fees and was continually reading just as he claims. He was quiet and kept to himself as he went about his task. You never paid him much mind as there was work to be done and he was of little bother. You get the impression that he is being completely honest with you though he is starting to look a bit intoxicated. He is able to answer any question you pose to him about your home and most people though he struggles with lesser known people or facts. He blames this on spending the majority of time reading and isolating himself. He knows perhaps more than you do about the Vault of Sages.
He did fill your glass and would try and keep it full as you all are talking.
"Truly! You worked at the Vault! I can't believe I did not see it immediately but perhaps that's why I felt drawn to you! It seems the Gods have fated us to meet! Two souls searching for knowledge and perhaps they find something more!!" His face turns red with embarrassment realizing the wine might have loosened his tongue a bit too much. "Well I think it is time to take my leave before I embarrass myself further. I am here for another week or so I hope we can meet again."He stammers as he starts gathering his books and notes to leave. He does not take the wine bottle or glasses.
Meanwhile back at the Hearth Fembris comes bounding back to your table, "I know where we can find our last Seeker! He is a young tiefling knight of something or other from Cormyr!" She lowers her voice to a whisper and leans in close to everyonne, "I hear he is a bit of a grump... and he is sitting over there...." She points rather blatantly and obviously toward a table in a far corner where a you see a large broad shoulder tiefling. He was wearing well maintained armor and a very dour scowl on his face.

"Hah, grumps are my speciality. Takes one to know one." Ludolf says confidently, gets up from the table and approaches the broad-shouldered tiefling.
"Pardon us Sir Knight, we are sent by the First Reader Bookwyrm to trace down how a certain book came to Candle Keep. The title of the book is The Dark Hunger and unless we are misinformed you would be the person who brought it here. We would be most grateful if you would spare us the time to sort out how it came into your possession."Ludolf says with a slight bow to the tiefling, while signing for a waitress to bring them a bottle of the Hearths finest wine.
Persuasion to get the tiefling to cooperate: 25 rolled with advantage if help is given by Dav, Klin or Pardot, or if the wine or the mention of the Bookwyrm helps.
Daventry follows Ludolf, and takes a look at what the tiefling is drinking. She waves over the bar wrench and orders another for him. "A drink on us, in exchange for your time with my companion's question."
Triäsa gives Yalerion a smile as Yalerion turns red. With a soft laugh she replies, "Perhaps. It was good talking with you. I will be sure to look for you again. Another week you say?" She stands as he does. Before he goes she asks, "I don't suppose you made a copy of that 'Mazfroth's Digressions' book did you? Not really a part of my current research, but after talking about it I would love to see what sort of books YOU pick up in a bookshop."
The tiefling looks up at the group of you and in a gruff voice says, "A monk, a tree hugger, an old man and a gnome that smells like piss. The only one of you who look like ya might be worth my time is the women there." He lears at Daventry. "If ya wanna share a drink then have a seat but ya can leave the manners and pleasantries up your arse." He takes a big swig of ale and looks at Ludolf, "So ya lookin' for the book I brought. Ask one of those fools in the robes I am sure they will bring it round for ya. Damn thing cost me a small fortune just to get in the ****in' door. Bought it in the wide, Upper City of Baulder's Gate. ******* shithole that place is. Corruption everywhere couldn't be happier to get out."

The young man looks back at you with a bit of relief, "No I did not make a copy but perhaps the Avowed can bring you the original." He tips head, "I hope to see you again Lady Galadon" and takes his leave back upstairs.

So this is what real grumpy looks likeLudolf thought, smirking. I will never consider myself grumpy again. "Just tell us the name of the place you bought it and we will leave you alone, with the woman." Ludolf calmly says to the insolent tiefling, winking discreetly at Dav.
"Yea, guess I will ask the Avowed," Triäsa says, giving the man a smile again. She then adds, "Just was hoping I could get it from you," and she gives him a quick wink. "Anyway, rest well and we shall talk again soon." She then slips off back to The Hearth, scanning the main room for the others.

Daventry waves off Ludolf as she takes a seat, taking a draw of her own tankard. "Hah, every time we put into the port at Baldur's Gate we'd have to find a new cabin boy as the old would have found a dagger to the delicates or been hauled off to... "entertain" some Patriar somewhere. I can't think of a worse place on the Sword Coast. Wish that city would just sink into the Hells like it belongs." She tries to judge the man's background from his response. Sailor? Sellsword? Insight 20
"Must've been important for you to get in here, dealing with that shit. Who was it who sold you that book? And if you don't mind me askin', what is it you're seeking here that would lead you to such troubles?"
Ludolf motions discreetly for Klin and Pardot to follow him back to their table, leaving Daventry to take care of prince charming. When he sees Triäsa enter the Hearth again he can't help but smile and breathe a sigh of relief. "I'm afraid Daventry is busy being being swept off her feet by that charming knight over there..." Ludolf says to Triäsa as they sit down, tilting his head towards Dav. "...but please tell me, what have you found out."
"Old-timer?" Ludolf chuckles. "Yes, Daventry has really done an impression on you Klin. Soon you will be swearing, drinking and telling sassy jokes too." He says smiling wryly. "If you have to know, I was worried for Triäsa going off on her own like that, just after...well it was a bit dramatic for me at least." He says and walks to sit with Triäsa.
Triäsa grins as she slips into a seat at the table with the others. "The book Yalerion brought was the one that nearly killed you Ludolf. Though I suppose that if he was behind all this he could have had more." She glances over to the other table where Daventry is now sitting with a tiefling. "So who is Daventry talking to?"
She tries to catch the attention of one of the waitstaff to get a glass of water, then turns her attention to Ludolf. "So you were asking what I found out. Well, Yalerion was the same handsome, charming man I had met before." A faint smile comes to her life as she speaks. "Would you believe he is from Silverymoon as well? I should have known, the Highscroll family is well-known there. And he actually visited the Vault of Sages when I worked there. I had not spoken with him then, but I do recall seeing him there."
As her drink arrives she pauses a moment to thank the waitress. "Anyway, I am pretty sure he is just a scholar. He has money and touring different libraries is how he chooses to spend it. It was interesting though, he said he found the book he brought to get in here from a shop in Baldur's Gate. Can you imagine just finding a rare text in some little shop?"
“Sometimes you can find some amazing things in small shops.”Pardot says, adding, “Do you think that it is suspicious? It seems unlikely a book was left in a shop hoping someone would buy it just to bring it to here. Though stranger things have been known to happen of course.”
The tiefling watches you all walk away then stares directly at Daventry. "So ya spent sometime on the sea, eh? That ain't no place for a lady. Out there isolated with all those men I bet you kept real busy" He sneers in a disguising manner. "I ain't got time for talk I have a lot of drinking to do before I leave tomorrow. You want to know about the book I'll tell ya so you leave me be... unless you're lookin' for a bit company..."
He chugs down his entire pint of ale before continuing. "You see I am bounty hunter, used to be military but the coin in the military is ****in' shit so I left. I figure I come here learn everything I can about monster's and creatures and the like before going out there and making my fortune. I am no fool and I don't need to die cause I went hunting some abomination without any idea how to kill it." The waitress comes by quickly drops off a second pint of ale before scurrying away. "Anyways I went to some book stall in Baulders Gate. It was in the Wide, in the Upper City. I walked in said 'Give me the rarest damn book ya got' and that's what they gave me. Cost me a small fortune but it's worth it. I learned everything I could to kill and not be killed. Before you ask, no I don't remember the name of the place. No I don't remember the name of the ***** that sold it. I looked for books, found them, gave them a lot of god damn money and they gave me the book. Hell I wouldn't even remember the name of it if you hadn't said it."
