Triäsa gladly helps out Daventry with a Prestidigitation spell to clean up after the rotten tomato. She then does the same for herself. She intently ignores the perpetrators, allowing Daventry's reaction to suffice.
After that she looks uncomfortable though she tries not to say anything. She is quie intrigued by the places Daventry names. Finally, as they reach the Wide she says, "Do you suppose there is somewhere I could clean up?"
She looks about to see if there's any sign of the shop they want to visit. But an inn might be nice too.
"Well, I know a couple of good enough places in the Lower City..." Daventry says, "But I'm loathe to drop any more coin into the Flaming Fist's coffers just for the pleasure of finding a familiar inn down below."
She thinks on it, trying to remember if her old Captain happened to stay anywhere in the upper city, or had passengers who mentioned any place in particular.
Triäsa as you all are walking the perimeter of the Wide you note a placard on building with Three Kegs lashed together. It has the appearance of a respectable Tavern. There is some light music coming from the door.
Daventry you remember hearing off hand comments about the place your prior crew avoided the place as it was popular among the Flaming Fist and other military and low enforcement types, both active and retired.
@Klin -- You look around are simply overwhelmed by everything you see. It's almost as if your sense perceive too much as you soak in all of the sounds, smells and sights. Fresh foods, music, trinkets of all kinds. Without some sort of directed search it is going to be rather challenging to find one particular thing. You do notice the Guard here looks notably different than the ones you saw in the Lower City. They are wearing rather common armor adorned with an emblem of a boat floating on water. You all see a man with an imposing and commanding posture talking to a group of merchants he appears to be telling them where to set up their goods.
"Mmm. Careful with the Three Kegs. It's a place where those of... less than reputable lifestyles are most definitely not welcome. My old crews avoided it like a plague ship adrift at sea. But... this is a different life I'm leading now." Daventry looks to Triäsa. "So it'll be safe enough from the riffraff, as long as you don't go afoul of the Watch or the Fists."
Triäsa nods to Daventry. "I cannot imagine that we would get on the wrong side of the Watch, right? So you think the Three Kegs is a good place to stay?" She looks to the others in the party. "I guess... are we staying in Baldur's Gate tonight?."
Daventry nods. "I'd imagine so... don't intend to camp out in the woods when we're back in civilization's grasp, even if it's just barely that. Though it's early enough that we can secure our rooms for the night, you can do what you need to freshen up, and we can hit the Wide again before they close down for the evening, if you want."
(Two hours from camp to the edge of the city limits, probably an hour through each ward, we're looking at early afternoon right now?)
She points at the watchman directing the merchants. "Though we should probably ask that fella if he knows where the 'Dune-something' bookseller has set up shop first."
Only half listening to Daventry and Triäsa's conversation, Pardot simply smiles at hearing the two in high spirits after the stress of the previous night's ordeals. He then is almost dumbfounded by the city, and clearly at a loss for words, saying only, "I've never imagined something to large. With so many people. And... so much filth..."The biggest 'town' he'd been in before might only match the population of just the line of people waiting to get past the first gate. And the impact on the nature of the area was something he's having a very hard time comprehending. To the group, as they walk, he adds, "I'll just follow you all for now. This is a whole new world that I'm not quite ready for. Though perhaps a good meal and a drink will help."
Daventry chuckles at Pardot's comment. "Aye, this city's got more folk than every other village from here to Amn combined, and when it comes to filth, it's the prime Balduran export. I wouldn't trust anyone in this city, to be honest - the poor will try to rob you if they think you're rich, the rich will stab you in the back if they think they'll profit for it, and the merchants will try to scam you if you look too innocent." She looks to all four members of her group. "Maybe you all need to make a mean face, or something."

"Alright, let's see about a room in the Three Kegs! Should we share a room Daventry? Then the boys can fend for themselves?" She smiles, then looks over where she is pointing. "I'll go talk to him first!" And she quickly steps over to the watchman.
She waits until he is finished speaking to the merchants then steps forward, "Excuse me good sir, do you perhaps know where a bookshop is here in the Wide? The name was 'Dune'-something, or maybe something-'Dune'."
Daventry nods in regards to the room. "Seems a good idea to me."
As Triäsa goes up to the man, Daventry follows. "Aye, was telling my friend here about all the good penny pamphlets and saucy chatbooks they had there, though I couldn't remember the name outside of Dune. I told her such an important man of the Wide would certainly know where every shop in his domain'd be, and for a few coin would point us in the right direction." She clinks two gold between her fingers.
The man is tall human with black hair and a pointed mustache wearing an obviously very expensive black and blue clothing. As Triäsa approaches him he promptly ignores her and continues on with his tasks. However, Daventry seems to have briefly caught his attention, "Ah, I am sorry little lady I didn't understand you initially but it seems your friend here speaks a language I understand. If you are looking for books check all the way in the back of the Wide far down in corner is a small storefront, Amberdune Books." He snatches the gold from your hand and promptly goes back to his work.

During the trek to Baldur's Gate, as Daventry and Triäsa fall a bit behind, Ludolf frequently and curiously glances over his shoulder but keeps Pardot and Klin company. He is still trying to comfort Klin and discreetely magically removes the ratbrain substance from Klin's magical book. Ludolf is relieved that the girls seem to have sorted out their differences from last night, a warm feeling spreading in his chest.
As they reach the outskirts of Baldur´s Gate Ludolf notices poverty in a way he hasn't done before. He tries to leviate some suffering by paying a generous price for some fruit they are offered, sharing it with his friends. He duly pays the fare by Wyrm's crossing. He also doles out coins to those who seems to suffer the most. The bribing by the gate doesn't sit well with him but it would have to be a fight for another day. As Daventry and Triäsa are struck by rotten tomatoes Ludolf feels an urge to share his view of the Far Realm with the miscreants, but quickly settles for a glare. Intimidation: 9 He then offers his help with clening up Daventry and Triäsa.
As they travel through the wards Ludolf listens attentively to Daventry's guided tour, making a note of visiting Sorcerous Sundries before leaving Baldur´s Gate again. As it gets more crowded Ludolf is mildly discomforted, but having lived most of his life in Luskan not nearly as much as Klin or Pardot. Arriving at the Wide Ludolf does his best to follow Daventry's lead only quickly glancing at the goods peddled. Seeing Triäsa and Daventry taking care of finding out where the bookshop is at, Ludolf turns to Pardot and Klin. "Gentlemen, as you might have noticed I'm an incessant snorer and will do you two a favor by having a room of my own." Ludolf says politely and promptly walks off to the Three Kegs, getting a room with a hot bath.
(OOC: Deducting 10 gp for fares, bribes, charity, fruit and finally a small fairly well-made scrimshaw depicting two dolphins racing across an ocean, bought at the Wide.)
Once she has the information about the bookshop, Triäsa thanks the man graciously, even as he walks away. She then makes for the Three Barrels. As they walk, she speaks to Daventry, keeping her voice low. "Do we really have to bribe everyone here for everything?"
She gets a room for both her and Daventry - something modest that will accommodate them. She then hurriedly washes herself up, making sure her shirt and cloak are fully cleaned up, then will head back out to the others.
The Three Keg Tavern is a nice respite from the madness on the streets. It is early afternoon and while the place is busy it has a welcoming atmosphere. The patrons that are there are all clearly military or ex-military giving you a feeling of security and protection. The bar is managed by a middle aged fellow by the name of Klalbrot Wintersides who is covered head to toe in warts. He is happy to give you as many rooms as you need but charges 5sp per person per night no matter how many rooms you are getting. He would explain then fee covers a number of other services including stabling, a plate of bread, bottomless ice water, cold baths and laundry service.

Daventry laughs. "Most folk here won't lift a finger for free, so greasing palms or showing a bit more of the bodice is the best way to get what you want!"
While Triasa does her full clean, a splash of water on the face and a loose ponytail are all it takes for Daventry to be ready for the next step.
Ludolf goes uptstairs to his room and relaxes a while in a bath tempered by practical magic. A bit later the sound of a baritone singing a Luskan sea shanty can be heard down to the taproom. When rested and properly cleaned up for a night in Baldur's gate, the most wretched hive of scum and villainy in Faerûn, Ludolf goes downstairs to join the others for a visit at Amberdune books.
Triäsa laughs, "A little more bodice?" she says in reply to Daventry. "That might work for you, but I do not think I could ever influence anyone in that way." She sighs lightly.
Once back outside she looks for the others. "I hope we can get to the shop before night." She speaks to Daventry and whoever else is ready to go. "Anything fun to see here at night Daventry?"
Ludolf catches Triäsa's attention as he comes out and she looks a bit surprised. "You certainly have been upgrading your outfits Ludolf." She steps closer, admiring the clothing. Then she steps back again.
"We shall all look to be your servants in that attire. I had not thought to bring any fine clothes with me on the road to Baldur's Gate. They are sitting in a chest back at Candlekeep."
She gives Ludolf a last look, seeming almost to almost say something before looking away. "Are we ready to be off then?"
