Though accustomed to being alone, Pardot is starting to understand that in a group, everyone has things that they do well. He knows he’s quiet, thoughtful, and able to focus on his surroundings. Following the glowing hand forward he leads with his walking stick and peers down the hall, and then into the, now open, southern door.
Triäsa follows the group back out of the room, waiting for Daventry to open the next. She mutters to herself, "So we have 'I' and 'B' and..." She comes over to Ludolf, "How many letters do we need to find?"
Opening the door to the East you find a small narrow hallway with a second door to the east and one to the south.
On high alert you slowly make your way down this short corridor to southern door which again gently swings inward when pushed by the etheral hand. There are no traps or other signs of danger. When Daventry opens the south most door you see a dark, stone-walled room containing only a few objects. A five-foot-diameter circle of intricate runes covers the floor. There’s an empty wooden bookstand opposite the door and bronze braziers at the other three cardinal points of the circle. Whatever material they contained has long ago burned to cinders, but the room still smells of charcoal and sulfur. Sitting next to the bookstand on the other side of the room is a warty toad. There are no other doors or exits once again the only way out is the way you came in.

Daventry eyes the circle with a bit of trepidation. "Hmm. Pardot, want to chat up the toad? Be careful not to step on the runic circle til we know what it is."
DM: is the bookshelf/toad inside the circle, with like a path next to the wall, or is the entire room this circle?
While the others examine the arcane apparatuses Pardot goes over to the toad, and spends a few minutes going through his bag to see if he has anything a toad might like to eat. ((Again, ritually casting speak with animals)) Disappointed that he doesn’t seem to have much in the way of toad food, he says, in Druidic, “You know there is a kitchen and a well fed cat up stairs. What’s your name by the way? Not much to do down here by yourself eh? When was the last time you had some company?”
"There should be seven letters in total young Triäsa, supposedly the letters of the command word activating the portal from this side. I believe we only need about three more to figure that command word out, although I expect us to find all seven as we diligently examine the contents of this pocket plane, and I don´t intend to leave sooner than that, and neither do you I hope young Triäsa." Ludolf answers the half-elven bard before entering the next room.
Following Daventry into the room Ludolf glances around it. "This circle with runes was used in some ritual." He exclaims, while pondering the rooms contents. Arcana to discern purpose of circle and to figure out if the toad is simply an abandoned familiar:13
As Pardot approaches the toad with a smile and welcoming glance the toad's skin starts to shimmer and swirl, it's face becomes twisted and grotesque as it sprouts horns and elongated ears. In a matter of seconds it has grown to the size of a dwarf and no longer resembles a cute and harmless creature but some sort of abomination of the lower planes. It growls at all of you hungrily and you can feel the malice in it's eyes.
My Friends, it's finally time to roll initiative.

"Hope you did not tell that thing any of our secrets Pardot!" Triäsa says, trying to make a joke, but her voice betraying a hint of fear mixed with fascination.

Seeing the woodland creature suddenly shift into an angry looking horned devil creature, Pardot quickly takes a step back ((I’m assuming I wasn’t in melee? If so I wont do this as I don’t want to trigger an AoO)) and reaches into his pouch pulling out a few sling bullets, causing three of them to begin glowing. But he isn’t one to jump to conclusions, and not all ‘creepy evil things’ are actually inherently dangerous. Though he does slide a stone into his sling and begin to whirl it around in case it’s needed, he quickly says, “Sorry for disturbing your home! Maybe you can help us?”
ready attack: if the creature moves to attack or threaten anyone in the group instead of calming down to respond to Pardot’s question. Attack: 25 Damage: 7

"Look out Pardot!" Ludolf shouts and instinctively uses his mind over matter to drag the halfling away from the abyssal creature. (Bonus action, Telekinetic shove, moves Pardot 5´back, can choose to fail dc 15 str save to resist.)
Ludolf the readies to summon his eldritch powers to blast the creature to smithereens if it is the least aggressive or if someone else attacks it. Eldritch blast:24 Damage:3
Arcana:21 to identify the creature as a quasit, although if it is dwarf sized it is a pretty big quasit.
Daventry steps to the forefront, sword still sheathed but shield ready. With Pardot (hopefully) being pulled back, she makes sure that no friend of hers is between her and the creature.
"Seems like the lady of the manor has a penchant for summoning nasty critters. What'll it be, beastie?"
Wisps of arcane potential swirl between her fingers.
As you all stand at the ready waiting to see who will make the first move the creature hisses and growls at your words. It deftly launches itself into the air feeling trapped by the five figures around it striking out at Pardot as he speaks.
Its at this point Pardot releases his strike which sails through the air striking the creature between the eyes and it falls to the ground in a heap of of limbs and horns.
With one strike you are out of combat

Triäsa lets out a relieved breath as her hands fall away from her belt and her undrawn weapons. "So, I wonder what this creature is. And why it was just left in here."
She tries to recall if she had ever read anot such a creature, in addition to returning to confirming her evaluation of the circle. (Arcana: 12 for creature - forgot the+5, so 17 total, and rolled previously for circle.)

"Nice shot, Pardot!"
Daventry keeps her shield at the ready, moving back towards the door to peer out into the hallway. "But if there's one on the loose, there could be more. Keep a sharp eye out..."
As the beast falls to the ground Pardot puts his sling and stones away quietly glancing around the room. If he sees nothing else that seems to be alive he'll head over to the bookshelf. Though the contents of these tomes do not really interest him, there seems a pattern of finding books with letters, and so he simply goes through the bookshelf with that focus.
