"Maybe. Perhaps she summoned it in the other room for study and it was trying to find a way back. Still, safest to keep your guard up, Triasa."
Daventry waits a few minutes as the others complete their search through the ledgers. As she waits, she sheathes her sword, running her fingers along the walls looking for any hidden passages, buttons, or other things of interest.

If nothing is found, she'll make her way back up the stairs.
"C'mon. We've got a few books and a lot of mansion left. Think we've discovered a bit of darkness to the mage... unless all wizards get into the weird like this."
You look over the tadpole but are unsure what the final color will be when it matures, you think if you new the color of the parents you might be able to figure it out. What you do know is they should mature reasonably quickly and this specimen has clearly been on display for a very long time suggesting the fluid has somehow suspended its development.
Triäsa -- The specimens are all very well preserved and all of them appear to be dead. With your nature roll you are able to identify a few more of the creatures as a small grell, a myconid sprout and a pseudodragon. Also with your roll you would estimate the quasit might fit in the jar though it would very tight.
Daventry finds many more jars of well preserved creatures, it's a rather impressive although disturbing collection

"Well, the rest of these seem to just be well preserved. Nothing living." Triäsa steps away from the jars and heads towards Daventry to go back upstairs. "Specimens like this are not terribly unusual for anyone studying something. You find deceased specimens and preserve them. It is a great way to learn. Although, I am more familiar seeing more natural animals than all these interplanar creatures." She pauses a moment before adding. "And well, the hands I cannot really explain."
"Yes, well, just be careful Klin. We could come back here later if you want to bring anything. It might be difficult carrying around that jar with liquid in your backpack. Now let´s move on." Ludolf says and follows Daventry up the stairs.
You all make your way back up the stairs away from the cold, dark basement you find nothing has changed in the study. Pockets is still laying on his chair but when he sees you all return he hops down and starts snaking his way between Pardot's legs.

"So, clockwise from here then Daventry?" Ludolf says to the shieldmaiden in front of him. "Did you get anything useful conversing with that cat?" He turns and asks Pardot as they are about to leave the room. New perception when needed:5
"Hey buddy."Pardot says in Druidic. "Good thing you didn't go down there. There's a lot of creepy stuff! Any mice up here?"he adds, chuckling to himself. "By the way. Any idea how long it's been since you saw Fistandia?"
Daventry awaits Pardot's conversation with the cat to see if there is any useful information, but seems ready to move to the next door to the east in the main hallway.
She resists the urge to pet the cat while it's... conversing? with Pardot.
"Yes, clockwise should work," Triäsa says briefly. "I have been trying to think of what the word to open the portal might be. Of course with just 'I' and 'B' out of seven it is a little tricky. So far I have only thought of 'bipedal' and 'biscuit'. They do not seem too likely. And of course that is just options beginning with our two letters. Getting one or two more though should really help."
She shrugs, "I suppose that means we should move along. I for one will be very interested to see what these other room hold."
"Yes, it will likely be quicker to find the other letters than to work our way through all possible words consisting of 7even letters even when we know i and b is two of them." Ludolf comments. "But either way, I am not planning to leave this pocket plane before I have thoroughly explored it. It is much too interesting, wouldn´t you agree young Triäsa." Ludolf says to the half-elven bard. "And going this way would be counter-clockwise, but no matter Daventry, as long as we proceed systematically."
Daventry responds to Klin. "At very least, we can take two adjacent rooms at a time. That way, if there is trouble, we're just a shout and a sprint away."
Assessing the group. "Hmm. Triasa, Klin, and myself to one, Pardot and Ludolf to the next?"

Daventry nods. "Sure, clockwise, counter-clockwise, either work. We'll sort out this floor before going down any more dark dungeons."
