At the magic shop, there's no room for two people to pass each other between the cramped little aisles, let alone three. When Banjo arrives he finds a couple either making googly eyes at each other in the corner or they're trying to get by each other without being too awkward.
Maybe they know something?
(Rothander's axe was seriously bloody. He'd obviously attacked someone with it...)
Marmaduke goes to clap her hands together. But realizing the ink bottle in one hand and papers in the other, she stops just short. "Woof... Twice in one day." She snorts. "Sorry. You were -- Wait, r-right. You see this here? Not cheap. Not cheap at all. Ink? Sure. The rest of it? Not so much. It's ridiculous!"
Marmaduke sighs. "I s'pose I should be more grateful. That we /all/ should be more grateful that Muradin didn't have a heavier hand in these sorts of things. You humans would never live long enough to scribe even one proper spell scroll." She says before letting out a hearty chuckle. "I must admit to being curious. No offense. But you don't 'xactly strike me as the magic wielding sort. And... Mmmm… if you... No, no! Just take my advice. If its like a trick or two you wish to learn, I teach you. But anything else other trinkets I would'n bother." Marmaduke pauses to let her words sink in. "You see. My old company had a saying... A dwarf divided.... is pretty much dead dwarf." She giggles so much that she starts snorting.
"But what do I know? You humans grow so fast, you pick up things quick."
Ignoring that the one before him seemed to be going all over the place with their thought process (it wasn’t his business anyway), Liam responded,
“Well...I’m actually here for a friend. They need one of these...Arcane focuses. Yeah...that.”
Now Liam just caused a bit of an awkward moment himself, and he never liked just having that silence between himself and another, so h decided to go on.
“Anyway, have you considered simply haggling for it?”

Aodh: Level 20 Half-Elf Cleric of Life - Not really. It's a strange being that had possessed and broke down a level 20 Cleric of Life Domain, gaining his knowledge and power.
"*****": Level 1 Tiefling Sorcerer - Her family is dead, and her will is broken. She follows orders so that those that command her will allow her to die.
Still pretty embarrassed after rambling somewhat pointlessly before, a blushing Marmaduke can only glance up briefly when addressed before looking away. "Y-yeah... I-I-I mean no... P-part of the process of creation I-is part what one places value in. Sooo… to haggle, well... it diminishes it...Sometimes... uhmm..." She glances over to any nearby focuses.
"... That staff there." She points over to one that looked more like a simple quarterstaff with a few inscription along its two end points. "Its n-not very flashy. B-b-but in a pinch, your friend w-will at least have a half-way d-d-decent bludgeon."

And what makes one family noble over another? Aren't we all just people? The Forrest is all survival of the fittest. We have to fight for everything. Nobility isn't a concept i know little about. Doesn't make sense to me that the civilized works so similar yet so differently. Grianne looks a little vexed.

Liam lifted the Crystal into view.
“I’m not entirely sure how much this is, but I spent a lot on armor a few days ago after everyone finally stopped trying to chase me down.”
Liam wasn’t sure if it was a good idea to mention that, but regardless...
“Haggling isn’t that bad. Besides, it’s not as if you’re trying to rob them.”

“With that logic, the cheaper you think it is, the lower quality it becomes. However...Lowering its material value does not mean the same as lessening its true potential. To equate an item’s power to how much one has paid for it would mean that you have chosen to limit it in such a way.”
Liam realized that his words were not his own. The other one was speaking through him. He didn’t mind, since he hadn’t the mind to fathom it all just yet.
“I ask you this, then. If one were to steal such an item, would it lose all power, since they have given nothing in exchange for it? They have not paid its value, so what would be the use of it?”

"Ehhh... As I said, magic is touchy like that. While there is some truth in that the individual has chosen to limit themselves, it is not without due cause. To do otherwise using while manipulating a force that can quite frankly produce both great wonders and travesty on a scale few mortals can even remotely comprehend is... is just madness."
Marmaduke rubs her forehead while being careful not to brush her bangs off her horn.
"As for stealing. Its... For one. You should not do it. Anything worth having is better off earned the right way. But, technically speaking, doing so would be exploiting a--" She clears her throat and looks around nervously for a moment. "A loophole. Of sorts. One with its own set of complications and variant cost. As I at least understand. A proper wizard perhaps can explain it better, seeing as admittedly much that /I/ know is part self-teaching, and for better or worse... instinct."
