(Merry-o Christmas, and a Happy Holidays to all!)

Having completed clearing the debris out of lesser known and now long forgotten smithy, it was time. Time for Dreadwood, warforged cleric whose eyes and chest jewel faintly glowed orange,  to put aside the hammer, and earn some side coin. Though without the expertise of true hunters and gatherers of yore, he took only a book and pent to jot down the venture in hopes of using the details in future exploration.

----> Using Overdrive(Artist Insight) as often as necessary.
----> Large Sized Creature(DC 20): 23.

Entry 1 - 1st Hour
Dear Learning Square,

I have made progress into the eastern forest. I think it is called El'dunah. It is known to have plentiful material, both mundane and more. It is also known to house great beast, who either as a result of the incident that befell the city, or as a consequence of consuming the vegetation, has grown to great size. Their retrieval should be easy enough.

Entry 2 - 3rd Hour
Dear Learning Square,

I have failed to find these great beast so far, but have run into plenty of fauna. It is most peculiar. How do beast said to be as large as human man of average conditioning mask themselves so well? It is most vexing. Additionally, it feels as if my path is being altered in some way as I precede deeper into the forest. Nevertheless, I will endeavor.

Entry 3 - 4th Hour
Dear Learning Square,

After an hour I have discovered the reason for the obscurement to be the fauna itself. Unfortunately, aggressive measures seem to have backfired, as I am currently being digested by an abnormally large Venus Flytrap. This will significantly delay my hunt. But, I will persist.

Entry 4 - 6th Hour
Dear Learning Square,

I have successfully escaped the aggressive fauna after approximately 1 hour, 37 minutes, and 22 seconds. Unfortunately, its internal juices stench that has stained my armor seems to act as a deterrent for the local game. Even given the advantages of entering an Overdrive state to at least keep track of them, and subsequently formulate alternate means of capture. Furthermore, As washing has failed to remove the scent. It would seem I must conclude my hunt here for today, and return to the city to inquire into a remedy.

"If you're looking for Anyone, last I saw, that punk is with Everbody over at Someplace trying to trick Somebody into losing a game of cards against Nobody."

A voice answer from the rooftop of one of the shorter abandoned buildings on the block. Looking up Firefeather sees a young, white-furred and haired but dark-skinned female Satyr laying on the edge of a roof, staring down at her. She appears somehow curious and bored at the same.

"But that's Tieflings for you. They're always up to no good on this world I here. If you keep going down the road you'll hit the main hub. Most people tend to gather there since this place got fuuuuu'd up. Or that Skay-uul place with all the books and the thinkers and the magic bahaws and stuff." 

"Well, thank you. I just thought someone was here, so I said that."

"Ohhhh! You meant the word not the name. I feel you, I feel you."

The Satyr snickers to herself before sitting up and pulling a pair of bongos into her lap.

"Well, you found me! I wasn't stalking you or anything by the way. Just chill'n here until my next match gets called. Though it looks like that'll be a while." 

She rolls her eyes, then shakes her head. 

"What are you doing in this part anyhow? Seeing like the rest of those scrubs if you can get some place fixed up off the side to claim as your own? Or perhaps something even more nefarious!"

The last part she adds with a twinkle in her eyes and wide grin.

 "Maybe. I was thinking about finding a way to get around spells, primarily because... well, my last match didn't go so well because of spells."

"Oh yeah! You're that girl! I saw that match. Left her friend there high and dry for quite a bit there."

The Satyr snickers again.

"Why you spend so much time hiding behind that anyways? You afraid to fight or something? Because if that's the case, why did you jump into that anyways?"

 "Well, uhh..."

She looks both flustered and afraid.

"Yesss?~"

The Satyr goaded on with a sly look.

"Was it a bad bet, I take it? Money problems? Or, are you like some those other nuts in it for the glory, but didn't quite now how best to go about it?"

 "I'm... not exactly... supposed to talk about it..."

She looks like she's about to say more. But it's like she physically can't.

(It's on her patron's orders.)

"If you say so~ And--"

The Satyr frowns and scratches at her head for a bit.

"What were we talking about again? Oh yea! So, you were thinking about coming up with ways to get around spells, right? Well, that'll be easier said than done without landing on the right teammate. Which, as a wee bit of an advice, don't count on that. That Dorkas dude is one prime example for more reasons than one."

She giggled at that before shaking her head.

"Luckily, he's wound up teamed up with some powerful friends a few times. And I have to give it to him for at least being persistent about this whole gig. But, uhm, back to your thing... What is that you can even do? Apart from the whole summon a spear and hide very poorly?"

"I can... cast spells? Like... make fire? And darkness?

"Well, the darkness aughta help a bit. Most of the wobbly woo spells I've seen in action kind of need a target. Only downsides you have to worry about is blocking the wrong person's field of vision. As for Fire--"

The Satyr produces a pen and paper from off to the side.

"Fire hurts a lot, so I recommend using that more too. But, all of this is of course up to you, and getting the right baubles along the way. Oh, and figuring out how to deal with the sneakier sort. Because aside from people like Tinman and Pretty Boy Nock, a lotta people are getting craftier by the day. Almost to the point that other peoples spells might be the least of your problems."
