Grianne stares blankly for a moment......I've never heard of creatures like that, but you don't look like a monster to me.

"Never heard of... Wait." Eldin looks a bit serious all of a sudden. He looks the elf in the eye and says in a concerned voice, "Grianne... Where did you spend your childhood?"

Grianne thinks hard. She doesn't know why she knows what little she does of humanoid society. In..In my forest...i think. I don't remember much before the Forest.

"I see" Eldin says, "Do you remember your parents? What were they like?"

Well, there was the mama bear that let me into her cave when it got too cold out and showed me the best fishing spots. OH! and there was that wolf pack i spent a few years roaming with. And  one summer i was looked after by a panther. He taught me how to climb. There was this giant snake that game me shelter once, but she tried to eat me so i don't thing that counts.

Eldin responds, "I... see." He looks down and mutters, "I suspected as much." He looks up at the elf again and says, "Well... I guess in a way, you're kinda like me. My 'parents' don't look like me either."

(Grianne has no concept of race. she is technically unaware she is an elf) I didn't know there were so many ways for people to look until i got here. It's confusing. 

"Well..." Eldin ponders a bit on Grianne's words. They've made him think about how different the various races actually are in the grand scheme of things. "Think of it this way, there are different animals in the forest, right? Like the rabbits, deer, monkeys and what have you. Think of the people as different peace-loving animals of the forest. The forest animals are different but at the end of the day, they have to get along with each other or else the forest would just be empty. The city is like the forest and all the different kinds of people here are like the peace-loving animals. We look different but we all get along together... more or less. Sure, we fight sometimes but that's not really how we want things to be. Unlike the forest animals however, we have gotten so good at working together that we work together like colony of ants or like the bees in a beehive. This teamwork has allowed us to create all you see around you; this is our beehive." Eldin slumps back into his seat and looks at the magic screen. "Of course, this isn't the most accurate explanation but it's the best I could come up with."

Grianne giggles picturing some of her new friends making honey. I think im starting to understand. Its a lot to think about but, Thank you Eldin.

Eldin simply smiles back.

So, um..you said something about finding a large pot?

("He must go to fetch the wa-ter; 'Til the day that he is grown...") Someone in the distance hums...

"Oh yes, the pot. You said you wanted a hot bath. I didn't find a hot spring but I found a waterfall. I have a very very large pot with me and if you want, we could fill it with water from the waterfall and then heat it up. That way, you can get hot water for your bath."

Griannes eyes begin to sparkle like an anime girl. OH THANK YOU ELDIN! she throws her arms around him in a tight embrace and puts her cheek against his in a kind of nuzzling fashion. I'd lick you but i think that's just an animal thing. she says cheerily as she releases her hug.

 Eldin's face goes from green to read as he stutters out, "D-d-don't mention i-it. It was r-really nothing. Whenever you're ready w-w-w-we c-could go to the w-waterfall and uh uhm get your b-b-bath water ready." He looks straight down at his feet.

(she has seen animals lick as a sign of affection but not humans so she assumes they don't do that)

(Got it. I figured as much)

So how long will it take to gather and heat the water ?

"Well, I have the pot in my room and a shovel so once we get to the waterfall, it shouldn't take more than 20 minutes... I think."

(Shovelling water? 20 minutes? Wow, Eldin is pretty clueless when it comes to those kind of things.)
