It is possible that unknown assailants have taken the Darklord. It is something my sire is looking into whilst we are to reunify the kingdom. Is there ought else you wish to know before i let you retire for the evening?
Not seeing any questions arise she watches you get up to leave. Cousin, hold a moment. She reaches out a taloned paw in the direction of Draskan A gift for you, for honouring the old ways still. A tendril of shadowy power coils down her talon and seeps into Draskan. After the initial shock of energy you find the dark not so impenetrable. Glancing up at her you she her nod before she withdraws back into the shadows.
Argetlam saunters over to you while you're helping yourself to a hearty breakfast in the mess tent. Morning Boys! I trust you slept well? Enjoy the meal and grab your gear I got an ambush to prepare and I need your help pulling this off. Now before you tell me where to poke it I want you to know its the Khargat we are targeting and it might lead to us finding out where the Baron holes up during daylight hours. We got a fair way to travel through the woods before we are near the route we've been told they are going to take so we need to get a wiggle on... you in?
Aye a few scouts left at dawn to make sure the road will be closed at the appropriate time but they ain't fighters hence why we have to schlep it out as well. Good to hear you're in. Finish your breakfast and I'll meet you by the gates. With that he gives a casual salute and walks out of the tent
Grabbing your gear while finishing your bacon sandwich you saunter over to the gates. Argetlam stands there waiting for you, having ditched the polearm for a sword and shield Come on then lets get going, we have a fair bit of ground to cover
Heading out through the woods you take several game trails in a north easterly direction, angling away from Martira Bay.
The hours pass by and eventually you reach the approximate area the scouts were supposed to have trapped. There is no sign of a blockade nor is there any sign of the trappers.
Argetlam stands there scratching his head but Sheridan nods to the others and follows the disguised trail of the scouts. It doesnt take you long and you find the ambush site. The trees have been felled blocking the way for any wagons or carriages and the scouts let you know they will wait further back along the road to cut off any retreat for the convoy. Now all you need to do is settle in and wait….
The sun sets and the mists draw in. You hear the moaning of restless spirits as they wander through the shroud for all eternity, it is more than a little unsettling but they pay you no heed this evening.
As it gets close to midnight there is movement on the road, 3 skeletal ogres shuffle towards you, a palanquin carried by two and a chest by the third, a cloaked figure and three guardsmen travelling with them. They pass within 30 feet of you, pausing at the fallen trees...
The spell resounds with a deafening cacophony, splintering the reinforced wood on the chest and palanquin and causing cracks in the bones of the undead creatures.
Both bolts slam into the figure but it doesnt seem like the damage is as severe as it should be. The shroud falls back and two pale orbs glow in the sockets of a bare skull. The creature raises a withered hand and points at Sheridan. Two sickly grey bolts of energy spear out at him. The first strikes him and as he spins the second goes wide. He takes 7 necrotic damage.
How can you be sure Rex is no longer in this realm and not simply being held captive

You head back to the surface and find an empty bunk house to rest.
The next morning feeling well rested you head out amongst the camp in search of breakfast

I am, as long as the others are.
If we know their route, I assume that we are going to ambush them? Or lay some traps? If so, we should definitely make a move as soon as possible.
