Olaerys says “I have been traveling these roads for just the last couple of months, along the Trade Way. Usually we are further south than here, but this time we came down through Triboar and now into Red Larch. I grew up in Waterdeep, I used to be on the city guard of Waterdeep, but I’m working with this trade caravan now.” Olaerys becomes pensive, a dark pall comes over his face for a moment and then vanishes, he tries hard to hide it and keep the conversation going. He looks up and waves to Gerlach and Jess as they walk into the tavern. “I’ve told them, the next leg of the trip I won’t be joining them, I’ve got to look into what is happening around here. It sounds like we have some of the same ideas and goals. Perhaps we could ..work together?” Olaerys finishes his tankard and flashes a big grin to all of you.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Everybody only saw Kay bringing hot bowls of rabbit stew and cold drinks to the table but from Fr'reona's mind this is what she saw as kay stood over her with the big bowl of milk.
She saw kay take the bowl from her hand raise it above her head while looking majestic. As a light came down from the heavens to illuminate her in a mystic glow. As a glorious and beautiful sound of a angle started to sing a single note. "Aaaaaaaaagh! Then another angel joined the first. "Aaaaaaaaaagh! While yet another angel voice came forth. "Aaaaaaaaagh! And in harmony the trio combined voices "AAAAAAaaaaaaaagh!" before silence capped the song as Kay delivered the bowl of Milk to Fr'reona!
Fr'reona put her left paw to her mouth covering it as she took a deep breath while biting down on her lower lip. With the right paw she reached out and touched Kay arm holding it briefly while a emotional "Thank you!" coming forth.
"If you folk intend to look into the bandit problem... I would like to come with you. I was thinking about trying something on my own as it was but hadn't worked up the nerve yet." He frowns and looks down at the table. "Some friends of our family... of the whole town, really... went missing. The Gladhams. Bero and Nerise. They aren't wealthy, but they have always found a way to give and help out when other families in town had need. Years ago I had to look after my sister and cousin... there were some rough times and I'm not sure we would have made it through without the Gladhams."
"I cannot say for certain the bandits are responsible, but it seems like too much of a coincidence, right?" He looks back up, no smile or frown now, but a grim expression in their place. "If you are going to seek out the bandits, I'm coming with you."

"I think bandits are easier than ghosts, let's go check on your friends, aye? I think it best we focus on recovery, unless we have a hero among us, non?"
Her smirk is hidden behind her layers of clothes, but the mirth is evident in her voice.
Melchor’s eyes unfocus for a moment, and then return to the room. After taking another careful sip of the wine he starts to eat the stew, taking great care to not over-fill the spoon so as to avoid his trembling spilling any food - but it clearly takes his full concentration, and he doesn’t talk for the duration.
Melchor communicated with his familiar, Glimmer, asking her to fly and scout towards the south-east for a little while looking for traces of camps - wood smoke or flashes of unexpected colour or the like, before returning to brief him.

Glimmer Investigation: 7 (Passive Perception is 13 too)
In a brush-choked dell a short distance from the Cairn Road, about a mile from town, is a makeshift camp in front of a cave entrance. Nearby is a wagon with a wooden cage atop it.
Melchor finishes his stew, having been careful not to spill anything. The more observant might spot some beads of sweat on his brow and some twitching mucles in his hand that give an indication of how difficult that was.
He's taking another sip of red wine when his eyes get something of a distracted look, and he nods in satisfaction. Replacing the glass on the table he looks around the group.
'There's a makeshift camp outside of a cave entrance about a mile from town, just off the Cairn Road. There's a wagon with a wooden cage on top, so there could be prisoners. Seems like a good place to start our investigations...'
Fr'reona places her hands together then bows before the meal as you hear her say. "May Goddess Hestia bless this meal. Thank you!" After she says her prayer she digs into the stew and the big bowl of milk. She finishes rather quickly as she was starving from a very long day of heat bearing down as well as line dancing to boot. She takes another look around the place as if once again trying to find something. Upon finding nothing she simple turns back towards the group then puts on a smile.
"If there's crime to be stopped, then I think that is as good as place as any to start. And if there are prisons we could be the answer that they are desperately seeking. So I'm in."
as she starts to clean her paws and skin from the stew and milk.
Kaylessa wishes the group good luck as you finish your meals and depart the Swinging Sword. She's excited that you are going to look at the bandits that she refuses to charge you. Harburk is equally excited and offers a reward should you come back successful.
Heading south east down the Cairn road, you travel for about 2 miles before you see a break in the foliage along side the road up ahead 200 metres, around where Melchor suggested. You might have missed it had you not known to look for it.
Olaerys crouches down, excited at the finding. “Right. Who is the stealthiest of us, who wants to go have a look? If I march up there then we will surely be heard. Anyone venture a go at it?”

Before they ventured out, Randall raced back home and donned his gear. Shortly, you would have seen him return with an old but well-cared for set of chainmail armor, a round wooden shield, a short sword at his hip and a long spear in hand. With that, he is as ready as he will ever be. He looks serious... but also very excited to be taking such action with you all.

Panga stealthily moves through the brush and into dell, without being heard. About 100 feet in she sees 4 surly humans around a fire pit, roasting a boar. There appears to be a cave entrance. Nearby, a wagon with a wooden cage on it sits on broken axles. Inside the cage, is a black bear.
After observing this, Panga sneaks back to the others and relays what she just saw. Her face contorts slightly as she mentions the bear, clearly upset about this.
