Ubly looks over to Bral in confusion, as they have been standing upright after only bending at the waist, then back to Strahd. "How interesting. Were there many residents occupying it? I don't suppose you and Lord Soth are old friends and you are just here to throw a welcome party?"
Bral nods as he considers Strahd's words, "I see, and just how do you plan on greeting him? Are you fine with permitting him to reside in Argynvostholt, or do you plan on removing him from your land?"

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Baudric climbs out of the wagon and takes a place at the rear, keeping an eye on the surroundings, worried that this lord may have brought minions, or attract enemies.

(Roll was a 17, in case it changes again, fixed a mistake in the original post prior to the roll.)
Strahd turns to Ubly and Bral once more. "If Strahd wants Argynvostholt, he can have it ... for now. There's numerous undead living in there, including old servants of Argynvost. I will deal with him when the time is right."
He turns to the group. "As I will deal with you, eventually. I must get to Barovia village and claim Ireena."
Strahd gets back on his horse and begins to leave. Everyone has a chance to do an action before Strahd leaves, whether it's asking a question or something else.
Baudric with your 17, you don't see any other minions. However you notice the crumbling statue of a dragon and it appears to be crying actual tears.

Bral watches Strahd carefully as he gets back on his horse and goes to leave. He wants to make sure that he currently has no intention of luring them all into a false sense of safety before charging at them on horseback.

Bral, you get the sense that Strahd doesn't want to attack you or your companions for now.
When Ubly asks their question, Strahd nods. "Ireena was once considered a companion but new information has come to light. She's now a vessel for a past mistake."
Strahd rides off as Rose steps next to Ubly. "Ireena is the Barovian Burgomaster's daughter. She's a dear friend and it's rumored that Strahd was visiting her, possibly to make her his bride. Then the visits stopped and Ireena was left alone, but she always felt Strahd was watching her."

"Right, so the wizard vampire lord is stalking an mortal girl?" he says as he raises an eyebrow and turning to Rose. "So, I'm thinking we might need to find her at some point as well. I guess we just add that to the list of things we need to save this land.
For now, Strahd says that Argynvostholt is full of undead, which Lord Soth is having to deal with. Let's catch up with him, deal with these undead creatures, and then we can find whatever it is that we've come here for."

Amelia grits her teeth, thinking of the glowing orb that hung in the sky. "Horrible things often seem deceptively normal. Or even good. Don't let it fool you."
Baudric nods his agreement, "The undead hordes may be deadly and implacable, but at least they are honest and straightforward in their intentions and actions. People can be a greater, and more subtle, threat, however, normal they seem."
You approach the manor and flagstone steps flanked by stone railings climb to a landing in front of a pair of tall, wooden doors with rusted iron bands and knockers shaped like small dragons. Carved into the lintel above the entrance is the word Argynvostholt.
Those who climb on the landing will be sprayed with a 60 foot cone of harmless cold air, then closes its mouth. The door is open and it reveals the foyer.
As you enter the foyer, this room feels like a king’s tomb. A grand staircase leads up to stone balconies held aloft by stone pillars and arches. A tall, faded tapestry depicting a nobleman in silver armor hangs from an iron rod above the staircase landing.
Six sets of double doors lead from this foyer. Along the walls, displayed on marble pedestals, are three alabaster busts of handsome men. A fourth bust and its pedestal have been knocked over, and their shattered remains lie strewn across the mosaic floor. Two chandeliers of wrought iron hang from the ceiling like monstrous black spiders.

Amelia steps out of the wagon, subtly summoning a blade. She looks directly at Strahd, but says nothing.
Estelle reluctantly leaves the wagon, standing timidly behind Bral and the others.

"That was the master of these lands? He seemed so...normal."

Bral sighs, as he places his crossbow across his back. "Let's get a move on. We've come down this for a reason and it's not to stand around talking."
With that he climbs back up onto the wagon.

Just to clarify, is the group going into Argynvost?

(I believe that was what was agreed upon.)
(Yeah, pretty sure that's what we are doing for now. Let's go and fight some undead.)

Before heading in, Baudric will take a closer look at the crying statue, "What do you all think of this?"
