As Bral enters into Argynvostholt, he draws his sword, taking hold of it in two hands. He doesn't flinch as the cold air blasts him. After all, he is colder. He admires the sights found in the foyer, but not for long. He expects that Lord Soth must have come through this way into the manor. He paused for a moment considering which way Lord Soth must have gone. Probably through one of the doors.
Bral turns to the others and in a quiet voice he says, "That must have been the lord of the manor."
He gestures with his sword at the tapestry at the top of the staircase. He treads carefully into the foyer before stopping to listen for any sounds that might be heard in the manor.

As they enter the manor, Estelle touches the shoulder of Baudric and then Amelia, granting them dark vision of 300 feet for the next hour. “Selune walks with you,” she says. “Go carefully.”
As you walk through the foyer, you hear a skittering coming from the ballroom to your right. To the left is a den where you hear a faint hissing noise. Ahead is a door with the words "Wine Cellar" written near the top. You hear a faint crash. In between the wine cellar's entrance there are stairs that go to the next floor.

Bral turns to the others, "It seems that there is a lot going on in this manor. I suggest we go carefully and quietly. We must stick together. We don't know what dangers are lying in wait."
Bral then turns his attention towards the ballroom, "I think we should go this way."

Bral, as you look inside, rubble is strewn throughout much of this vast chamber, caused by the partial collapse of the rooms above it. On the pink marble floor, fallen chandeliers lie amid broken chairs and other furnishings. Thick webs stretch from wall to wall, and moving among them are too many giant spiders to count.

Bral spots the spiders in the room and whispers, "It seems that there is not much in here, apart from the giant spiders. I don't know how you feel about spiders, but these are rather big."
He then quietly closes the door, "I don't know if it is worthwhile investigating that room. What do you think?"

Bral, you peak into the next room and you see a fire erupting in the dead hearth and assumes a draconic form. It hisses, crackles, and unfurls its smoky wings. It turns toward the door, seemingly addressing you and says," My knights have fallen into darkness. Save them if you can. Show them the light they have lost!”
With that, the fire burns out.

Bral turns the rest of the group, "Okay, did any of you just see that fiery dragon?"
Bral then swings the door fully open before stepping into the room. He begins to investigate the room for clues for more information. Anything about the knights that have fallen into darkness or the light that they have lost. Failing that he will look for the source of the dragon form and who might have had the power to conjure such a thing.

Estelle, you notice some tapestries depicting a golden sun. You recognize that as the symbol of Lathander, the Morning Lord. You know that dragons don't usually worship him, but it's not unheard of.
With that 19 History, you begin to feel a tingle in your mind ...
You find that you're still in the manor but it's clean and there are people around. You see a man in armor surrounded by others. "Gentlemen, welcome to the Order of the Silver Dragon!" The man in the middle shouts.
The other men salute and chant his name "Argynvost! Argynvost!" The man's shape changes to that of a silver dragon.
A sad, old voice rings to you in your mind. "I wanted to do good in this valley. My knights and I, the Order of the Silver Dragon, sought to help others and vanquish others. And then that fateful day came."
Estelle, you now find yourself on a battlefield where you see Strahd strike down Argynvost in his dragon form. You also see knights are either slain or they flee to the manor. At the end of the battle, Strahd has his minions take Argynvost's body, saying it will make a fine trophy in Castle Ravenloft.
"The devil took my life and my body," Argynvost's voice says to you. "My spirit lingers here, hoping my comrades can be restored. Perhaps your companions can do that."
Estelle, you find yourself back in the manor as it was with Bral next to you.

Baudric instinctively raises his bow before registering the message and slowly lowering it and looking around, "Yes, I saw it as well. And I'm inclined to at least look into its request." Turning to the locals, "Do you know much about this lord and what happened to his knights?"

Amelia could already see in the dark, courtesy of the father she’s never known, but she can see a lot further now. “Appreciated.”

Baudric nods his thanks for the gift of nightvision and hefts his still glowing hand crossbow, "I will bring up the rear, lead on."
(Anything from the statue?)
Amelia summons a blade. "Ballroom it is." She begins heading in that direction.
Bral heads towards the ballroom, and pushes the door open to look inside.

Amelia grimaces. “I’m okay with normal-sized spiders, but I can’t say I’m a fan of the giant ones.”
Baudric shakes his head, "We can at least start with the other areas of the building."
Bral shrugs his shoulders, "Okay, room with the hissing noise it is then."
He then steps away from the door to the ballroom and heads towards the den. Once more he carefully opens the door before peering in through the gap.
