The bugbear looks around and then says, this time in broken common, "I did not see Yeemik." He lets out a soft moan of pain, "He and his other small friends," he is gesturing towards the goblins, "are probably hiding somewhere."
As Ink and Chensica head to the back room they find sacks and crates of looted provisions piled up in the south end of this large cave. To the west, the floor slopes toward a narrow opening that descends into darkness. You can hear the wolves fighting again from this opening. In the middle of the cavern, the coals of a large fire smolder.
These are full of goods that you would find in a general goods store, and all of them are stamped with the icon of a blue shield with a lion on it. They are bulky and more than would be easily carriable.
However you also find a treasure chest hidden beneath some of the sacks between some crates.
trying to think ahead as Ragarok translates the bugbears tongue, Mal asks "if I find the hiding ones I should be prepared, Can you teach me the goblin words for two small things? i want to know 'run' in the context of run away, and also 'stop'."
Inkeyes the treasure chest with interest but returns to the rest of the group. "Mal...Ragnarok...piles of general goods in there. All of them bear the same stamp: a lion upon a blue shield. There's also a chest..."
"no healin' things? Ah, crap. well we need to take everyone somewhere safe right now, I'll go grab Gundren an check out this eating place, If its safe in there I'll come get you, If it's not I'll holler"
With that Mal takes up his morningstar and torch and trots off toward the 'eating hall'
As Mal walks alone into the dark cave he crosses the bridge and comes to tunnel that turns around the corner. (Did you get out another torch or something? Make a perception check as you proceed.)
(Ink and Ragnarok what are you doing in the meantime?)
As you enter the tunnel across the bridge you hear the echoing sounds of what you now recognize as goblins speaking. Ragnarok can't make out the words that are being spoken. To your left you see the top of the rubble pile you recognize from the entrance of the cave and Mal can hear the wolves still barking.
None of this disturbs Mal all that much, he is prepared for an attack but the fact that these goblins took to hiding sets his mind slightly at ease, as he notices Ragnarok following he juts a chin out forward to the noise , lifting one finger to his lips and then cupping a hand over his ear for a second signaling to Ragnarok to listen when they get close enough to distinguish discernable words.
Ink nods, "I'll take a look back there, Mal."
Motioning for Chensica to follow, Ink heads off to the back room...

"A narrow opening that descends into darkness?" muses Ink. "Tempting. But maybe some other time."
He then begins rummaging through the sacks and crates in the south end of the cave.

Crom groans and shifts in his sleep.

Ink glances at Crom and Calantha and says, "For now, I'll stay close to these two."
(Okay Ragnarok make a perception check as well after you both cross the bridge.)
Mal's perception. 18
He moves across the bridge in a very matter of fact way, like he's on a mission, not actively stealthy.

(Need stealth checks from both of you if you want to get close enough to listen.)
"koc ac tuuc, koc ac tuuc" Mal mutters under his breath as he goes.
