Gorik listens in and agrees. "I think it would be to our benefit that I appear as a slave. We aren't certain how this was communicated but someone in their crew must know something of my circumstance to end up in a cave." With a faint pause in reflection Gorik adds, "It wasn't right. Outright cruel might I add. From glory and honor to a humbling extent then thrust out like trash to be sold into slavery. It's betrayal that fuels me. My dedication to my people discarded like I was no more than a beggar with an affinity for war..."
Looking around the new found brothers-in-arms, Gorik realizes he shared more about his inner turmoil than he's ever done before. A sense of vulnerability sets in as adjusts his posture into a proper soldier with a duty to carry out. "Ah-hem... right. I'll offer me'self to the role of slave once more. I trust that you each know what you're doing."

Daveth Insight check: 14
Daveth will say to Gorik, "We'll we're all brothers and sisters in arms now Gorik. These folks saved me and took me in as one of their own," indicating the rest of the party, "and I can honestly say that they've been more of a family to me than my own blood."
Kulogall happens to be standing beside Daveth when he says that, he is very surprised when Kulogall reaches over and gives him a huge bear hug. "I feel the same Daveth. I was worried about you when I first met you, do you remember that? Hah! I thought you were a bandit. The look on your face when those rocks when flying off that wall! Hah!"

(Kulogall sells the bolts of silk and the brandy). Kulogall says to Gorik "I just sold those bolts of silk and casks of brandy for a good bit of gold. Let's go get you outfitted with that maul and whatever else you want. I'm glad to have you with us. And you too Daveth! It turns out the adventuring life is for you after all!"
When Kulogall is standing near Wake and Elwyn, he says "I agree, I can swim well and can take their rudder out of commission or whatever we need to do to affect the ship, from underwater. Also, I could distract them by swimming to the other end of the ship, underwater, and by using gust alternating with shape water, I could create a water hammer on the undersurface of the hull, make them think a Kraken was about to crush the ship from below! When I swim I can put everything in this bag, water tight. If either of you need coin for anything, just let me know, I sold those bolts of silk and the brandy for a good bit of coin. Hey, have you seen anywhere that could remove this cursed luckstone for me? I can't seem to get rid of it, every time I open my bag it's looking up at me, but I can't part with it. Any ideas?"
“Perhaps that chapel to Umberlee we passed as we entered town has an adherent that could remove that curse, for a price. Just don’t ask me to accompany or approve of it. The thought of funding their … practices is heretical.” Wake practically spits out.
Gorik - You were compensated 100gp from the town council as reparations for your imprisonment. With this gold you're able to buy all the starting equipment you would get when creating your character, just subtract the cost of the equipment from the 100gp.
All - It is about 5pm and you watch as a large contingent of town guard march along the main thoroughfare and out of town. Are you planning to head back to the house tonight? If so, will you be spending the night there? If you are not planning to return to the house tonight, what will each of you be doing with your night off?
Elwyn would like to swing by the Snapping line to try discreetly find out if a certain lady has checked out and left Saltmarsh yet. He has otherwise no opinion on if the team should investigate the house any further before boarding that ship, leaving such decisions to others better suited for planning and making sensible decisions.

Ariana likes finding random stuff, so offers, "Wake, if you want to go investigate the attic tonight, I'll go with you. It'll probably be safe enough to spend the night. Everyone can come, but we could especially use your skills, Ruby."
If they plan to return to the house, Ariana is going to run to Winston's and finally buys those thieves' tools she's been eyeing. She tries to talk the price down a bit, and also tries to get more than 10gp knocked off the price for trading in the cut piece of blue quartz (10gp) she has.
Ariana - Winston digs in a drawer and pulls out a jeweler's loupe. He holds the quartz under the the loupe and inspects it for a few moments, "Nice cut, you don't see the trilliant much any more. Hmm... I can do 12 gold pieces for the... locksmith's tools."
“Ariana, I will accompany you and Wake, I am curious about what is up there as well. Then we can return here to sleep overnight and prepare for our next encounter.”
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Elwyn - You find Hana kneeling in a small garden outside The Snapping Line. A pile of dead plant life lies on the ground next to her, their growing season now passed. She looks up and moves a bit of hair from her face with her forearm when you approach, "Hello Elwyn, is there something I can help you with?" You see Cal's necklace around her neck with the symbol of Lathander hanging against her chest, having fallen out of her dress as she worked in the garden. She gives you a small smile when you ask after Apollonia in a round about way, "I'm afraid she's gone dear. Checked out late last night all in a hurry. She was certainly a pretty gal, though truth be told, I had a feeling about her." If asked what sort of feeling, Hana will only say, "My father used to say, 'The look o' the cake ain't always the taste Hana.' She reminds me a bit of that I guess."
Elwyn nods quietly at Hana, blushing a bit over his own naivety over pretty women. "Well that is probably for the best really Hana that she has left, I think she just had some unfinished business to take care of, and I'll doubt we will see her around these parts again." Elwyn says with a sigh, still thinking about Apollonias beautiful eyes. "Is there anything I can do for you Hana? I could come and perform some night if you wanted me to."
“Good for you, Daveth! I think we’re going to sail back to the mansion this evening, clear out the attic and then rest to reset our sleep patterns for tomorrow night’s adventure. Come along to the house tomorrow evening. We’ll be watching for you.”
Wake makes that suggestion to whomever doesn’t wish to return to the house this evening. He will secure the ladder, gather his belongings and head to the boat.
Elwyn - Hana says, "Sure, we could use a bit of cheer 'round the Line. You're welcome to come by and perform any time." She then smiles at you and returns to her work.
Wake - Daveth replies, "Ok, sounds good to me! I'll be there! I'd better go wash up and see if Winston has anything nice I can gift to Lara and her parents. Take care!" He then hurries off with a smile on his face.
"Yeah, I'll come with. I am also kinda curious what's up there." She says and walks with the others to the boat, waving to Daveth as he leaves to go in his date.
All - Those that would journey back to the house this night will find it much the same as it was left, minus the animals in their cages. Any who would climb into the attic will see a gaping hole in the floor that shows where the top of the staircase used to lead before it collapsed. There are grimy cobwebs on the walls and ceiling, and the floor is covered with broken furniture and other rubbish. Several holes in the roof allow dim moonlight to enter this large room that extends the length of the house. Two large sacks lie heaped in the northwest corner.

In the attic, she volunteers to investigate the sacks, pulling open the first.
