"Well now we know what hid in the attic at least." Elwyn says with a weak smile, looking over at Ariana, seemingly still concerned she is alright. "So back to the Wicker Goat for a warm bed then right?" He adds, not overeager to spend any more nights in this place.
"Good idea Ruby. Let's head back down there and make our plan. It's on our way anyway." If they all head back downstairs and through the passageways (Kulogall glances to make sure everyone has been collected from the cages), they make their way back to where they battled Xolo. "So Gorik, Ariana and Ruby will be in the boat. Elwyn and I will be swimming out beside you. Or, Elwyn do you want to be in the boat and act as Sanbalet, rowing out with the "slaves" to the ship? Or should that be Daveth? They will call out to us, or signal with their lantern. How do you imagine us springing the trap?"

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
After everyone has given up on the "loot" in the attic, before Ariana follows them downstairs to discuss the plan, she'll kick around the trash, looking for any little worthless bauble or trinket, anything conceivably worth the effort they made—an interesting patch on one of the rags, a unique but rusted spoon, a worthless but pretty glass bead or gem, anything. She likes random trinkets, valuable or otherwise.
"Well as much as I like the water and your company Kulogall I think I will give playing the part as Sanbalet the vile mage a shot." Elwyn says with a wide smile.
If she lets him Elwyn will then stick around Ariana, not wanting her to be swarmed just yet again, but also helping out with her search. (Help action given.)
Wake would prefer to stay here and perform several dry runs of the sortie. Where will the moon be to illuminate our way? Will the tide be out or in.? Will all of us be able to board their vessel before the subterfuge is revealed? Who would board first? Should one or more of us that can breathe underwater not even cross in the boat but fight only from the water?
Wake is willing to wing it, but his nature prefers to have some of the variables accounted for.
”I trust in our abilities and will vote with the majority.”Wake will say. Then he will add more softly, “It’s hard to vote against a warm bed.”
Kulogall continues, “We just need another 15 or 20 minutes here to plan, then we will head back. I will put everything in my bag, swim underneath to the front of the ship. I will message you to tell me when you are ready and I will create a distraction under the ship, make strange sounds, a water hammer against the hull and draw their attention away when you choose to attack. Then I’ll come up and join the fun. You just need to fool them enough to get on board and up on deck, then we will start. What do you think?”

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
"But you would miss out on some of the fun Kulogall, would hate to start without you. Perhaps we should just all try to board the ship as slaves and slavers?" Elwyn says as he creates a near perfect image of Sanbalet in front of him and uses some cosmetics from a pouch to take on his appeareance. (Using silent image and a disguise kit.)
Ruby would also like to try some dry runs. She doesn't mind staying in the house but would stick with the others.
"So Gorik, Ariana, Elwyn, me and possibly Daveth in the boat. Kulogall in the water... what about you Wake?" She says, counting people on her fingers.
"If we had more people in the water we could possibly board the ship from both side. But I also think that hitting their ship from below or even making a hole in it might work in our favor."
"Sounds like an excellent plan my friend, you had your rehearsal in the role as the great antagonist and now it's grand opening night." Elwyn answers with a wide smile.
Ariana is quite happy with her decorative plate worth 0sp to others but 10gp to her; when she finds it, still squatting over the pile of trash, she smiles up at Elwyn and shows it to him. "Worth it!" she proclaims, then hops up to follow the group. She safely stows the plate in her pack when the others debate the plan.
"I am starting to get accustomed to warm beds in warm rooms, but I don't mind another night here. It's cold, but at least we're out of the elements."
“I think it would be best if I was close to the majority instead of separated. But if there is a strategic reason for me to be on the other side of the ship, I’m willing to do it.”
Wake will volunteer this idea,
”Since I can breathe underwater, swim as fast as I can walk, and see in the dark up to 300’, I could swim underwater and scout out both sides of the ship. I could then return and report if there are any accompanying vessels, if there are easy ways to scale the far side of the ship from the water, and we can make last minute plans at that point.”
“I think it would be a good idea for Kulogall, Elwyn and I to scout out what’s underwater from the shore to where we think the ship will anchor . No sense being surprised by a school of Moray eels tomorrow night. Never know, we might find something down there that we could turn to our advantage. Like a boulder big enough to tie their anchor to that would force them to ‘cut anchor’ to retreat.”
"Sweet." Elwyn says smiling as Ariana shows him the plate.
"Yes, let's stick together when we can, that is more fun." Elwyn comments on the excessive planmaking. "But I can certainly join you and Kulogall for a quick recon before we board that ship." He says to Wake.
Wake is looking forward to a little swim. He will share Eyes of Night with Elwyn and Kulogall. Effectively increasing their darkvision out to 300’ for an hour.
Eyes of Night
You can see through the deepest gloom. You have darkvision out to a range of 300 feet. In that radius, you can see in dim light as if it were bright light and in darkness as if it were dim light.
As an action, you can magically share the darkvision of this feature with willing creatures you can see within 10 feet of you, up to a number of creatures equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum of one creature). The shared darkvision lasts for 1 hour. Once you share it, you can’t do so again until you finish a long rest, unless you expend a spell slot of any level to share it again.
Wake, Elwyn, & Kulogall - You all slip into the water and find it to be rather chilly this night. No moray eel surprises though you spot a few scuttling crabs. Closer to the shore you find a few large boulders that have tumbled into the sea from the cliffs above. It takes the three of you to roll the largest to where you would assume the ships normally drop anchor. The boulder has a diameter slightly larger than 10ft and tying a rope to it would use about 35ft of rope, leaving a 15ft lead to tie to the anchor if that's what you want to do.
Elwyn gives Wake and Kulogall a thumbs up as they finish with moving the boulder, a bluish mini-dragon swimming up beside him as they swim back. As they come ashore and meet the others the tiny blue dragon flies up and perches on Elwyns shoulder. "Everyone this is ....Azure." Elwyn says with a wide smile.

"Yeah, doesn't look like there's anything else." Says Ruby, ready to head back. "Should we test out the plan we came up with before we go?"

Ariana - In the scullery you do manage to find an intact decorative plate with an anthropomorphized frog and toad riding a tandem bike together on it.
All - Is the plan to return to Saltmarsh tonight or stay at the house?
Elwyn votes for going back.
