"How are you feeling Ariana? Think we can handle a few more gnolls?" She asks, wanting to help the city but worried about Ariana since she got hurt in the last fight.
Kulogall - When Clara hears you say that she says, "I could use your help getting to the jail... It has been a while since I last wielded a weapon and Olin is injured... If you would accompany us, we would gratefully appreciate it."

Ruby nods. "Right, let´s get you all to safety first. Any idea what might have caused this attack?" She says, keeping an eye on their surroundings for any threats. Perception: 15
All - (Assuming you plan on sticking together and helping Ruby escort the family to safety) Clara says, "Thank you all! I think if we-" She is cut off by one of the children, a little girl with brown hair and blue eyes in her night clothes under a coat that is much too large for her, "Mama! You're bleeding! Do you have an owie?" You can see Clara is indeed injured from her tussle with the Gnolls, "Shhh, shhh, mama's ok honey. We've gotta stay quiet, we're playing the quiet game remember?" She turns back to you all and continues, "I think if we follow the old road along the Huppert Farm and the river we can avoid most of those creatures. They seem more interested in burning, looting, and killing than anything else. Any objections?"

Ariana has a determined look on her face when she answers Ruby, "Yes, I can go on. Let's save these people."
To Wake's suggestion that she keep distance and use her darts, she simply grimaces and looks at her quarterstaff. "Oh. Right. Yeah, maybe," she says noncommittally.
Finally, when the group agrees and sets off to escort the family to the jail, Ariana takes a rear position about 20 feet behind the group to watch for danger following or trying to flank them, knowing that she's faster than most and can catch up to them if need be.
Kulogall - You feel the familiar link with Xolo and he replies,
"I am here brother. I have nothing to do with whatever evil has befallen this town this night. I have been here in the cell meditating and praying when I heard the commotion. Are you well?"
All - Olin chuckles a bit when you agree to help and Clara turns to him and says, "What's so funny?" Olin smiles and says, "You can take the girl out of the military but you can't take the military out of the girl I s'pose." Clara rolls her eyes and ignores him as she walks over to the entrance to the alley and looks for threats. She motions for you all to follow and walks quickly into the street. You can still hear shouts, screams, and the animalistic sounds made by the Gnolls as you hurry through town. You also pass more than one dead town guardsman and civilian along the way. You reach the old road and see the farm across the street. Bare brown corn stalks stand silently in the field, the corn already having been harvested. At a fork in the road ahead Clara pauses and says, "We could try to cross the river here but the little ones can't swim, we'd be sitting ducks in the water if something were to happen upon us as we're crossing. Thoughts?"
Wake - Perception check results:
At the crossroads you see the area where the river pools before it finishes its journey at the sea. You also see shapes moving in the copse of woods to your right. You can't tell if they're friend or foe, but they seem to be hurrying into the trees. Further afield you see the Sharkfin bridge that connects the eastern and western parts of Saltmarsh. There appears to be a group of armed figures standing upon it, though again you can not tell if they're friend or foe from this distance.
All - As you work your way through town you hear the sounds of fighting. Next to a small home you see a pair of town guardsmen engaged with a group of Gnolls. The man and woman are shoulder to shoulder with their backs against the wall of the house and a number of Gnolls are menacing them. A gnoll thrusts its spear at the man and he knocks it aside as an arrow suddenly buries itself in the woman's abdomen. She goes down with a cry and the Gnolls take turns lashing out at the man with their spears. It is only a matter of time before he falls too.
Do you stop to help? Or do you continue to see the family to safety and leave the man to his fate? There appear to be 3 Gnolls. If you would stop, please roll for initiative.
Ariana shouts to whoever will listen, not expecting anyone in particular to stop with her and help or continue on, "Get them to safety! We'll catch up!"
"How are you feeling Ariana? Think we can handle a few more gnolls?" She asks, wanting to help the city but worried about Ariana since she got hurt in the last fight.
Wake will not leave the group. He grimaces when he sees how badly he failed at healing Ariana.
”I am sorry I wasn’t able to help more. Please keep your distance from harm, maybe use those wicked darts you’re carrying.”
Wake will keep the Moonbeam up as long as possible.

"So east towards danger or west towards the jail?" Elwyn asks the others, eager to save Saltmarsh.
“Run east toward the known danger, and quickly! Wake, bring the power of the moon on them!”

"Yes, of course we will help you Clara." Elwyn says quickly.
Ruby nods. "Right, let´s get you all to safety first. Any idea what might have caused this attack?" She says, keeping an eye on their surroundings for any threats.

Wake will bring up the rear, towing along his Moonbeam as long as it holds. He’ll reset his Vigilant Blessing and keep glancing back for attackers.
Perception: 15 plus you know he will be praying for guidance: 2
(and for forgiveness for whatever transgression he committed against Selune to warrant such a poor healing to Ariana)

"Sounds good Clara, we're with you." Elwyn says gallantly and follows along.

Kulogall as they are racing to the jail has a crawling feeling up the back of his neck, he reaches out with his senses…
(Within a mile) Xolo, are you there? Are you mixed up in this? Tell me, now!
Kulogall keeps his eyes open as they move to the jail and help Clara with her mission.

All - Once everyone has indicated whether they continue or stop to help, I will proceed.
Wake is also inclined to stop and help. We can’t save everyone, but perhaps a just couple more he thinks to himself.
Initiative with Vigilant Blessing: 20
Wake will try and make out if the figures on the bridge are friendly.
