A look of distaste crosses Kulogall's face as they walk by the temple and see the symbol there. (Since he is a Triton and from the Moonshae isles, he knows this symbol well). "I find that the followers of Umberlee are lost in their way and the kind of folk that I would not associate with. While there are exceptions to every rule, in general, I would not turn my back on them. Otherwise you might find a knife in it if the opportunity arose. I follow Persana like many of my kind and I don't think I would be welcome at that temple either, Wake."
In response to Ariana's question, "Absolutely! I don't need anything right now, I'll stay outside here with Elwyn and we will have a look at the passers by and try to get a feel for Saltmarsh."

”I don’t suppose you have any ‘special’ wares under your counter, for your more … adventurous clientele?”
Wake - Winston smiles again but this time the smile doesn't reach his eyes. He seems a bit put off as he replies, "What you see is what I've got sir." He busies himself with returning the boots to their place and doesn't offer any further comment.
A successful DC 12 Insight check will reveal the following to any still present to witness the interaction.
Winston was certainly put on guard by Wake's questioning. You get the feeling he wouldn't be comfortable discussing any "off the books" inventory with just anyone, especially folks that are new in town.
Ruby would also stay outside, with Kulogall and Elwyn, listening to all the strories about the Queen of the Depths. "Ah, I do remember those shanties." She says and smiles at Elwyn.
Elwyn smiles and nods at ruby. "And I expect you would be hearing more of those in a place like Saltmarsh. So, what were your plans again? Looking for a new job perhaps?"He asks Kulogall and Ruby, still standing waiting outside Winston's.
"Well, I was actually planning to travel a lot more. I wanted to get on a ship here, but I wouldn't mind getting into more adventure with you guys. So we'll see" She says with a grin on her face. "What about you guys?"
"Yes, well, whatever keeps me far away from Baldur's gate I guess, but I'm definitely in for some more adventuring." Elwyn says, looking to Kulogall for his thoughts on the matter.
"Well, like Isadore said, we can speak to Manistrad Copperlocks at the Wicker Goat, she can help us find some steady work if you would like to. But I need to tell you all about something else. It's about my brother, Xolo. I had a vision that night on watch and sensed his presence. There's a lot to explain. I feel that he is near Saltmarsh, that there are some bad things going on here, and unfortunately he is part of them. I heard him mention a name... Sanbalet. Anyway, once we are all together at the Wicker Goat I will tell you the tale. I need your help with this actually. What I really need right now is a beer." Kulogall pauses and looks far off, a little shaken thinking about it.
Then he comes to and smiles. "Just don't ask me to do the trick that the coasties would ask me to do in port. They would always want me to see if I could breathe through beer. I felt like it was a waste of beer, I would try to drink it of course, I can breathe through it but it tickles and gives me hiccups."

Elwyn first looks compassionate with Kulogall's family problems but then he laughs heartily at his mention of the triton party trick. "Of course we'll help you Kulogall, right Ruby? I'm intrigued by your story and would very much like to see it to the end if can."He says and smiles warmly to the triton. "As soon as everyone is ready with their shopping we'll grab that beer at the Wicker Goat and listen to your tale."
Ariana, standing with the others outside of Winston's, has a quizzical look on her face, then one of admiration, as she watches Kulogall speak.
She thinks, Wow, Wesley! We've never before had a friend that could breathe underwater. This group surely is talented.
Ariana says, "My teacher sent me out for adventure, and I doubt there's a better group out there for me to join. So I'm here to help as much as you need, Kulogall."
She hears Wake exit the shop behind her and looks back, seeing him looking at his own new boots. "Nice boots, Wake!" she says, holding out her arm to welcome him into the circle of conversation.
Kulogall says "Fine with me. Everyone here? Hopefully Daveth got some decent clothes in there. Maybe something made of wool?" Kulogall breaks into a grin.

All - Before you can make your way to The Wicker Goat, Daveth suddenly says, "Shoot, forgot something. Be back in a second!" and hurries back into Winston's. He returns a few minutes later with a simple but new shield. He gives Wake a smile and tries to figure out how Wake attached his shield to his pack so he can do the same. Once he's done he puffs out his chest, brushes his cloak clear of his sword hilt, and marches forward into town, "Winston said the Wicker Goat is clear across town. We'll have to follow this main road and cross a bridge. He said to take a right after the bridge and The Wicker Goat will be on our left a little further down the road." Daveth then makes his way into Saltmarsh, nodding at everyone he passes, prouder than a peacock. It's mid-afternoon by now and Saltmarsh is still bustling with activity. You pass a few buildings of note on your way, including one with a sign that says, "Mariners' Guildhall", a large sprawling mansion with numerous additions and expansions and a wrought iron gate out front with an ornate "O" worked into its design, you smell before you see the open but covered pavilion of the Fishmongers' Plants, the area is practically churning with activity as the catch of the day is processed, a smithy with a predictably anvil shaped sign that reads, "The Dwarven Anvil", you also pass an open air market centered around an ancient looking well before you cross the bridge that Winston mentioned. You find The Wicker Goat soon after, both the Tavern & Inn but also a goat made of wicker that stands in a rock and weed strewn yard out front. The inside of the tavern is lively and full of the usual taproom noises, but doesn't appear to be rowdy. An older human man with large greying mutton chops and short brown hair is laughing with a pair of men from behind the bar as he pours drinks. There are a few open tables in the common area and appear to be a couple of private rooms available as well.
Ruby nods "Whatever it is, I am sure we can help."She gets a little sad at the mention of family but not for long as Kulogall mentions wollen clothes which makes her giggle. "Right, we should wait for Daveth."

As they enter the Wicker Goat Elwyn approaches the bar, immediately feeling at home with the taproom noises. "Excuse me good Sir. Me and my associates were recommended this lovely place and we hope to stay the night if you still have any rooms available. We have travelled all the way from Waterdeep so we could also do with a hot meal and some beer. If you are in need of entertainment I will be happy to take care of that for you as long as we're welcome to stay." Elwyn says to the man with the greying mutton chops. Persuasion if needed to get a good treatment: 20 As an entertainer Elwyn also has the Popular on demand feature
Kulogall steps up as Elwyn says this to the bartender, adds in "Perhaps a private room if you have one for me and my friends. And I told them, I'm buying the first round. Thank you -"

"Oh, yes, of course, didn't mean to steal the tab, I just got carried away, not being in tavern for some time now you know."He says and smiles apologetically to Kulogall.
Elwyn & Kulogall - The barkeep smiles and finishes pouring a drink and passes it off before wiping his hands quickly on a rag from under the bar. He shakes your hands as he says, "Welcome to The Wicker Goat! My name is Lankus. We'd love to have ye play for us sir and I think we could even work out a bit of an arrangement if ye plan on stayin' a while." In a lowered voice he leans in and says, "People have been on edge lately what with the mine taking off, could use a bit of cheer around here. We haven't had an entertainer worth a squirt of piss in years." He looks at Kulogall and says, "Sure, we've got private rooms. We charge a nominal fee of ten copper to reserve, but the fee is waived if ye order more than five silver in food and drink throughout the night. Should I start a tab for ye sir? Looks like ye've got a bit of a crowd with ye. I've got a couple of shared rooms upstairs to let or ye can stay in the common area if ye'd rather. Two beds, two footlockers, and a locked door for the shared rooms and a cot and a locked foot locker for the common area. Rates are one gold piece per night fer the shared rooms and two silver a night fer the common area. I can offer weekly rates as well if yer gonna be in town a while. You can head on over to that private room over yonder and I'll send Mia 'round to look after ye."

He exits the shop to join the others while admiring his new footwear.
