"Well, unless we are heading into danger..." Elwyn says, tiliting his head towards the door with the danger sign. "...I think the passage beyond the bookshelf is the way we have left to explore, and judging by the cool salty breeze I'd say were getting closer to the sea."
Wake - Daveth will help you move the heavy wooden tables to prop the sliding shelf closed until you are ready to explore beyond it.
Kulogall - Daveth will then come over to the room and say, "Wow, lookin' good Kulogall!" admiring your new coat.
Ariana - Daveth steps into the room and walks over to the desk by you. He reaches under it and pulls out the lantern, giving it a closer look, "Huh, I've never seen a lantern like this before." He opens and closes the modified shutter a few times, it operates with a rusty squeak.
Elwyn - Daveth sets down the lantern and says, "What if it's a trick? Like, it's an escape route or something and they put "danger" on it to throw us off while they climb up through the well? Hmm... I don't know, maybe I'm overthinking it."
"Well it could be a trick, but that door is damaged and bent, as if something has tried to push the door open from the other side. I'm not sure we want to find out what's in there, or maybe we do brave Daveth?" Elwyn answers with a smirk.
Elwyn - Daveth returns your smirk, "Daring Daveth didn't come to a haunted house to turn away from danger. Shall we flip for it? Let Tymora decide?" He says as he holds up a silver piece.
Wake - Daveth will blush and say, "I may be being just a tad boastful, but in all honesty I wouldn't feel right about leaving this place without checking everywhere. If something dangerous is on the other side of this door, it looks like this bar managed to hold it at bay. I say we take a look and if something ugly shows its face we slam the door and bar it again."
Ariana holds up the spell book. "Take a look at this." She doesn't know much about the arcane, so hands it to Kulogall. "Is this useful?"
Ariana then pockets the flint, steel, and two candles. She shows the parchment with the codes to Daveth when he starts playing with the lantern. "I wonder if it's used with this code to communicate silently over long distances? Regardless, we should keep this code in case it comes in handy later." She pockets the code parchment.
Ariana & All - Daveth takes a look at the parchment and says, "Oh, you're probably right." He looks from the parchment to the lantern as he operates the lens hood in sequence with the written code. "Interesting." He will then ask the rest of the group, "Does anyone need a lantern?"
"I already have one, so you can keep this one if you want, it might come in handy." Ruby says to Daveth. "So, what now? Do you still want to check out that door? I am definitely curious but it seems risky."
“I’m willing to stand in the gap and test this new armor against whatever juggernaut is on the other side.”Wake says less confidently than Daveth would have.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
All - Elwyn removes the bar and holds it as he stands in the corner between the two doors. Wake raises his shield and throws open the door, revealing deep darkness beyond. Light spilling in from the large room behind you barely shows that the chamber is only about fifteen feet across and the corners are filled with shadow. What little you can see is dingy and dirty. Suddenly a pile of rags in the far corner stirs with a clattering sound... Six figures rise from the shadows in scraps of leather, rusted metal, and cloth, no flesh on their bones. The skeletons raises pitted and rusty weapons and rush for the door!

Apologies for the sudden change in battle map/token format, I'm working on another larger map that can handle these larger areas. I will do my best to place your tokens where you want them on your turn, just let me know via cardinal directions (e.g. Daveth moves three squares East and one square North)
Wake will want to hold his ground and force the skeletons to fight their way through him before they can reach any of his friends. He won’t mind others shooting over his shoulder, however.
Movement: none
Action: Ready to crush the first skeleton that enters range with his warhammer.

“Ho, so Daveth is volunteering to take point!?” Wake says with just a hint of sarcasm but a larger portion of pride for him.

"Then let's do it." Elwyn says lifting of the bar so that Wake can enter as soon as everyone is ready.
Perception if needed: 7
Wake readies his shield and blinks his eyes a couple of times to properly perceive whatever is beyond the door.
”Selune, help me.” He whispers. (Guidance for an anticipated ability check)

Wake’s Initiative with advantage due to Vigilant Blessing: 22
Wake appreciates the natural choke point that the doorway provides. A distasteful sneer crosses his face as he draws his warhammer.
