“Well done, everyone.” Wake will praise the group.
He then corrals the monk and rogue, as their adrenaline is still pumping, to ascertain their injuries.
”Well, these cuts are relatively deep.”He says as he tries to downplay just how severe the damage is on both of them.
”I believe I have the ability to help both, but I will be needing a long rest to pray and recharge before I will be able to call on Selune for substantial aid again.”
Wake will encourage the others to investigate the area and piles of bone debris but will counsel the group than Ariana and Ruby should be tended to before expecting to continue.
"A rest sounds great." She says with her hand across her slashed chest. After Wake checks her injuries, she will peek inside the room where the skeleton mage came from.
All - A bench runs down the west wall of what seems to be a laboratory. On the bench are jars of powders and liquids and several pieces of chemical apparatus.
There is a table against the south wall, forming an L-shape with the bench. A book is open on the table. Its title is Ye Secret of Ye Philosopher’s Stone, no author acknowledged. The book is worth 50 gp to the right buyer.
Also on the table is a candlestick, with a tiny stump of unlit candle still in it, and a variety of other items that, even in the dim light, shine with the warmth of pure gold. One of these objects looks like a human skull.
A human skull (20 gp)
An apple (5 gp)
A rose (5 gp)
A set of five small discs (balance weights, 5 gp each)
Kulogall -
The alchemist wears an empty bag of holding at the waist. One rib bone on each of the skeletons (there were six skeletons) is dipped in gold and is worth 5 gp (30gp total). The alchemist also carries a curious looking stone. This flat, gray-and-black river stone is inscribed with an unknown arcane symbol and feels cool to the touch. You feel that it is arcane in nature, though you would need to spend more time studying it to learn its properties.
Ariana sits at the table and picks up the gold apple, pretends to take a bite, then sets it back down. "Should we sell this stuff and split the gold pieces?"
Pretending to eat the apple reminds her that she has some stale sweetbread in her pocket. She eats it, giving some crumbs to Wesley.
She gets comfortable at the table, expecting to get a short rest.
Kulogall takes the bag of holding and puts it around his shoulder, looks inside. “Hey everyone, I have heard of these magical bags. I will hold onto it if that is ok. I can store anything in it you don’t wish to carry. This skull, apple, rose and discs look like they are coated in gold, they may be worth something.” He puts the items in the bag to study and divide up later. He picks up the stone and sits down for a rest, studying it and reading the book about the Philosphers stone. He sits beside Elwyn and enlists his help in studying the stone and the book.
Ariana asks Daveth to hit the lever to close the secret door to give them some protection as they rest. She then kneels in the southeast corner of the room to meditate and rest.
All - You're fairly confident the current inhabitants of the abandoned mansion never discovered the hidden Alchemy Lab. Daveth checks and confirms that the secret door is almost indistinguishable from the rest of the wall when closed. If you'd like to take a short or long rest, please decide a a group and let me know.
Kulogall - Though it is written in Common, the book is too profound and recondite a work to be fully understood by anyone other than the appropriate specialist. Holding the stone in your hand as you thumb through the book, you begin to get a sense of its magical properties.
By the end of the rest, you become attuned to it and the following properties are revealed to you:
While carrying the stone, you can gain advantage on one ability check of your choice. The stone can’t be used this way again until the next dawn.
Curse. This item is cursed. Attuning to it curses you until you are targeted by a remove curse spell or similar magic. As long as you remain cursed, you cannot discard the stone, which immediately teleports back into your pocket or pack. After you use the stone’s magic, your next two ability checks are made with disadvantage.
Kulogall walks to the exterior door and takes the bar off, not wanting to get locked into this place. He sits down and rests, after Daveth throws the switch for the secret door. After resting an hour, he comes to the conclusion that he is holding a cursed luckstone. He tells everyone of his findings and he talks about the book that he can't quite make sense of, and the stone. "I guess I'm stuck with it. I'll put it in the bag. Hey, would everyone want to take a longer rest here? I feel that our trials have just begun. I feel like we are still going to meet up with my brother's minions, and I'd like to have all of my powers to bear on them if we need to. What do you think?"

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Wake says, “I vote for a long rest here. I’m afraid our rescue attempt of Cal came too late. So for us to continue, I would prefer we were all at full strength.”
Kulogall walks back over to the table, looking for any clues about the cursed luckstone that he has picked up. He opens any drawers to the table and examines it. After searching, he will sit down and meditate, look through the spell book obtained in the other room, and see if he can make heads or tails of it.
Afterwards, if all are in agreement, he will take a long rest.
Ruby agrees with Wake. "I have no idea how many children they must have kept here but I think you´re right Wake. I think they´re long gone, wherever they took them."She says, feeling sad not knowing what might have happend to them. She agrees to a long rest, making room on the bench so she can lie down on it.
Kulogall - Please make a DC 10 Insight check to see what you can ascertain.
A successful check will reveal the following:
The book, the golden objects, and the stone would certainly lead one to believe the stone is the Philosopher's Stone, but perhaps that's the point. The gold-plated objects are likely just a ruse to trick someone into buying what they believe is the Philosopher's Stone.
The spellbook is just that, a book of spells. Your earlier visions lead you to believe it likely belongs to Sanbalet and contains the list of spells he has prepared.
"Sounds good Kulogall, you go ahead and take care of our finances." Elwyn responds to the triton with a relieved smile, having no real aptitude for keeping track of things himself, mostly spending any earned gold quickly. Elwyn then assists Kulogall with studying the stone and the book, giving the triton a look of concern as they find out the stone is cursed. "We'll find a way to rid you of that, I promise Kulogall." He says encouragingly to the triton. When everyone else does, Elwyn too takes a long rest, taking advantage of the bed in the smaller room, moving it into the alchemist lab.
“Foul undead mage. That will teach you! Begone evil being!” That is the extent and manner of Kulogall’s stiff smack talk.
