Close to the end of your watch you begin to hear a noise. It's very hard to hear through the stone, but you hear a repetitive pounding coming from somewhere. After a few minutes the pounding stops and is replaced by the sound of something heavy being moved. You begin to hear voices and then muffled shouts. "...bed!? Why... hells... take my bed!?" More voices and conversation can be heard, louder and more clearly this time. It sounds like it's coming from the skeleton room, "...killed the skeletons. How many of 'em did Ned say there was?" The muffled reply is lost to you, but you hear someone say, "Lookit that one, all gussied up in fancy robes..." Another voice, "...clear these bones out, we can use this room." The first voice replies, "I... touchin' 'em! Send the... blins in to do it." You then hear a wet smack and the sound of something heavy falling to the floor. A voice shouts, "...said clear out the bones! Unless... to join them!" The rest of your watch passes and noises can still be heard coming from the skeleton room beyond the secret door.
Daveth wakes you with a gentle shake. You see that he has one finger in front of his mouth, the universal signal for "quiet". He then whispers to you, "Elwyn told me he'd heard a bunch of noises coming from the skeleton room. I could hear them when I first started my watch, it sounded like they were moving some things into the room. Every now and again I can hear someone moving around or talking, I think they might have moved a few of their bedrolls into it. What should we do? Should we wake everyone up? What if we wait too long and we're trapped in this little room?" His eyes are wide with fear as he whispers to you.
"Calm down Daveth, they probably don´t even know we´re here." Ruby whispers back. She will get up and listen closely at the secret door if there´s still someone moving on the other side. Could it be some of the kids? She thinks to herself, but dismisses it, they´re probably long gone."Were you able to make out what they were talking about?"
Daveth takes a deep breath and lets it out with a sigh, "You're right, I'm sorry. I just don't want to end up a pile of bones like those skeletons we fought. I couldn't make out much, a few of them were laughing about the bed we took, but not overly loud. I think the bed belonged to their leader." As you head over to the secret door, he urgently whispers, "Be careful! If we can hear them, they can probably hear us!" Daveth will then take a spot on the floor and try to get some rest, though with how he keeps tossing and turning, you doubt he will be very successful. During your watch you too hear noises from the skeleton room. Not much, it seems like they've finished whatever they were doing and are doing something somewhere else now. Toward the end of your watch you do hear people entering the room and after a bit the steady drone of what sounds like snoring. Your watch is up and Ariana has volunteered to take the final watch.
Before Ruby gets back to sleep, she will talk to Ariana.
"Hey, umm, so.. there are people outside in the skeleton room. Me, Daveth and Elwyn all heard noises and talking, but whoever they are they seem to be sleeping right now. I don´t think they know we´re here but be carefull."
Ariana - Ruby fills you in on what's been going on and heads off to finish her rest. By this point Elwyn's snoring is in full swing and you aren't able to hear anything outside the walls of the hidden lab.
All - The long rest has ended. What would you like to do now?
As her friends stir awake, Ariana shushes them, nodding toward the door. She listens hard at the door, trying to determine if anyone is in the immediate next room, and if their sounds indicate stealth, like they know someone is here.
You can hear the snores, occasional flatulence, and movements of whoever is now bunking in the former skeleton room. It is hard to tell, but there is definitely more than one person in there.
”I can hear the snores, occasional flatulence, and movements of whoever is now bunking in the former skeleton room. It is hard to tell, but there is definitely more than one person in there. How do we want to play this?”
Wake thinks about it and volunteers,
”I could Bless our melee group, Ariana, Ruby and Daveth, rush in there and place myself within 5’ of two or more of them. This would hopefully give Ruby the chance to inflict more damage. Anybody have a better idea?”
Ariana will share her misgivings. "I am suspicious of them. How would they not suspect intruders? We moved their tables against a wall, we moved a bookcase over their trap door, and Elwyn is currently lounging in their bed."
She shakes her head. "Anyway, I'm ready for a fight if you all are. I'll follow your lead, Wake."
She stretches her back and legs and pulls out her quarterstaff.
"Sounds like a plan." Says Ruby, this time taking out both her daggers instead of the longsword. "Do we want to try to capture some of them to maybe question later? They might know something about Cal or maybe even Kulogall´s brother.
“Daveth, keep in mind that if your target is on the ground, you’ll want to use your sword. If they’re standing and out of reach, use the crossbow. Depending on how loud the door is while opening, maybe we can sneak in there and quietly dispatch a few before any of them, ahem, wake. Ruby, try and hit someone that has one of us within 5’ of them, obviously. Let me know when everyone is ready and I can either pre-cast Bless or wait until we see what’s beyond.”
Kulogall quietly says “If you open that door, I can make flames jump out from my hands and burn them. I could probably catch a good number of them to begin the fight.”

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Ariana says, "I have no problem with unceremoniously dispatching any sleeping child-murderers. Ruby and I can stealth to the nearest two and end them quickly. Kulogall can be ready with his fire magic should we make a mistake or get interrupted."
“How far does your fire go, Kulogall? My recollection is that to get to the other door, I’ll need to dash. But will I be out of range of your fire if I dash across the room first? And I’m likely to be rather noisy. So that’ll probably get them up and spoil our plans. I’m sorry, everyone. I’m probably overthinking this. Should I be giving someone else the Vigilant Blessing (advantage on their next initiative roll)?”

Ariana sleeps well on the floor, curled in the corner of the lab. She wakes after her long rest to take 4th watch.

Wake will stir and recognize the need for silence. He will approach Daveth and whisper,
“Daveth, I’m going to lend you my light crossbow and bolts. I’ll just ask you to return them to me, like my scale mail, upon request.”
Wake will give himself Vigilant Blessing and check on Ariana and Ruby to verify they are both fully recovered.
”Thank you all for covering the watches overnight. A full night’s rest was most appreciated.” He will quietly tell to all.

Ariana - It is difficult to tell with the movement of 6 people in a small space, you really aren't sure at this point.
Wake will also try to listen through the secret door. Praying for guidance before his attempt.
