Elwyn would stay with Ariana until she is up on her feet again. "Almost thought we lost you there Ariana." He says as she comes to, kneeling by her side, a tear still in his eye but trying to give her a comforting smile. "I'm not sure what you remember but I've been told you fought off two of their champions on your own there for a while. You're very brave Ariana, very brave." He adds patting her shoulder.
As they all enter Captain Elianders office Elwyn slumps down in a chair, before hopping up and offering it to Ariana. "We're okay now Captain Eliander, at least we're better off than Saltmarsh." Elwyn says, clearly dismayed over what has happened in Saltmarsh. "It seems very convenient for them to attack while your forces were dispatched, don't you think captain?." He suggests after a while.
Wake will offer his services to the Cleric in charge of healing the wounded.
If accepted, he will forgo the meeting in the Captain’s office and seek out supplies to replenish/replace his own dwindling uses in his own Healer’s Kit.
If declined, he will attend the meeting in the Captain’s office.
Later, he will seek healing for himself, if available, after the meeting. Especially if expected to return to the burning buildings.
Wake - Nessim gladly accepts your help and sets you about tending to a section of patients on cots. A fair amount suffer from smoke inhalation or burns, but there are a few in your section with wounds caused by Gnoll weaponry. One of them you already know, Mia from the Wicker Goat. She sees you and says, "It's you! Oh, thank the gods you're ok. Have you seen Lara or Lankus? Or Daveth? Lankus helped me clear of the fire, but he went back in looking for Lara and Daveth! I waited and tried to send help in after them, but the bastards carried me here instead. If not for my injuries I'd have given 'em worse than the Gnolls and went in after my family myself. Please, have you seen them?"
As for the healer's kit, all available supplies are currently being utilized or accounted for and held under the watchful eye of Eda Oweland, the stern-faced council woman from the council meeting. She logs the outflow of supplies in a thick black ledger and looks to be carrying out her assigned duty as well as you would expect a town council member to. If you're interested in convincing her to part with some supplies, it will take a successful DC 15 Persuasion check.
"Oh no, they might have been taken by the raiders." Elwyn says and immediately sends Azure away to scout the retreating raiders to determine if they bring prisoners with them. If possible he would also like a report on numbers and where they're going too. "If they wre taken we will go after them at dawn, we will find them Mia, I swear." Elwyn says sincerely, looking to the others for support.
Elwyn - You can see through Azure's eyes the mass of Gnolls making their way eastward out of town. It is hard for him to see from too far away with the smoke and he tries to fly a little closer.
Azure DC 13 Stealth Check: 9
He flies though a low hanging cloud and suddenly finds himself much lower than he'd like. A Gnoll Hunter spies him and yips maniacally as she fires two arrows at Azure in quick succession.
Attack: 11 Damage: 10
Attack: 23 Damage: 9
Azure tucks his wings and spirals to present a smaller target and the first arrow sails just by. The second however finds its mark, skewering Azure through his chest. He falls to the ground with a THUNK and the last things you see are cackling Gnolls capering around his body, shoving and biting one another as they fight to be the first to claim the prize. Their glee turns to confusion and then anger as Azure's body quickly liquifies and melts away.

Wake nods as Elwyn speaks to Mia. He will add,
”We were away from Saltmarsh and only returned after the town was already ablaze. We fought our way from the docks but didn’t see Lara, Lankus or Daveth. But do not be discouraged, I did see a number of townsfolk from a great distance in the tree grove North of town next to the river. Perhaps they are with that group.”
Wake will approach Eda to acquire supplies to tend to the wounded. (He will use his own if he is unsuccessful)
“Nessim has recruited me to help heal some of the townsfolk. Will you please give me just enough healing supplies to aid Nessim?”
Elwyn - You are correct, though in this instance the smoke is much too thick to realistically see through at a distance without a Very Hard DC 25 Perception check. Azure's Perception is only +3, limiting him to a maximum result of only 23 even with a roll of 20 on the dice, thus making the task impossible for him.
Wake - Eda willingly gives you the supplies you require to aid the townsfolk, though she doesn't say anything while she does it, her gaze constantly drifting from the supplies, to the ledger, to the door, and back.
Apologies, I thought you were approaching her to procure extra supplies to replenish your Healer's Kit. An ability check isn't required if you only seek supplies to carry out your assigned task.
(She vehemently shouts you down, venting her fear and anger viciously upon you. The entire jail stops and watches. When she is done, you can hear cheering coming from the cell block.)
Wake - Your joke actually does well to diffuse the tension after the public dressing down you received, eliciting a few chuckles, smirks, and smiles from those present.
Ariana comes to from the cleric's healing work. She gasps, instinctively reaches for her quarterstaff, and winces from pain. She looks into the cleric's eyes. "Thank you, sir."She looks at Ruby and Elwyn sitting by her, worried looks on their faces, and smiles weakly. "I'm okay. Thank you." She blushes from their attention and Elwyn's compliments, and diverts her own attention to Wesley, who scurries safely in her pockets.
The chaos in the jail finally reaches her senses and she snaps back to action. "What can we do to help," she asks between coughs.
Before leaving the room to meet with the captain, she gives Ruby and Elwyn a single group hug. Without looking them in the eyes, embarrassed by the affection, she hurries into the hall and looks for a way to help.
Without any direct orders, she'll hang near Kulogall or Elwyn to help them in their tasks.
Kulogall finishes checking on Xolo and goes to Captain Eliander, as they all consider their next move. “We may not have the strength to take out the gnolls that did this, but should we try to follow them to see where they came from? Perhaps we could attack in force later. What would you have us do next? How much of the town is destroyed do you think? Also, we need to head back to the house to try and catch those slavers as well!”

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Being a sensetive guy Elwyn clearly appreciates the group hug Ariana offers, perhaps holding on a little bit too long.
Standing in Captain Elianders office Elwyn steps away and closes his eyes, using the sight of Azure as he follows the raiders. "Wait Azure, no!" He he says suddenly. "NOOO!" He screams and collapses against a wall. "Azure." He whispers, tears welling in his eyes again.
Elwyn - In response to your earlier speculation, Captain Fireborn says, "Aye, I thought the same. Though I shudder to think how they would've known we were sending the bulk of our forces away... It weren't the world's best kept secret what with them parading along the Trade Way like they're going to fight for the fate of the realm, but it all seems too... Convenient. That may be something worth investigating once we know our walls are secure and our people taken care of."
Kulogall - The Captain sighs and says, "Hard to say, I've been stuck here ever since the first flames began. From what I've heard though... A lot of folks'll be without for a while. I know the Goat's gone, and Lankus and Lara are missing. Kester's is gone, hope you folks don't need any leatherworkin' done. The Carpenter's Guildhall of all places, is heavily damaged. When it rains, it pours I guess. My priority is seeing our town secured and our people looked after. That ship isn't supposed to arrive 'til late tomorrow night and if you're up to it, we could get a lot done 'round here before then."
Elwyn seems to calm down somewhat as Ariana tries to comfort him. "Yes, yes his spirit would have escaped, I can call upon him again thank the gods. But the pain and horror he must have felt. How could I have put him at risk like that, why did he have to be so brave?" Elwyn splutters, tears still trickling down his cheeks. "I swear I will never send him into danger like that again."He says looking up at Ariana as if seeking her forgiveness.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Nonsense, Elwyn. It may have been scary and painful for him, but he'll be proud of what he accomplished and how he helped. Just like I am when I get... knocked down. Azure will get up again, too. Azure is a brave li'l dragon." She pats Elwyn on the back, looking at his eyes to see if he has taken her encouragement to heart (insight 20), then returns to work.
