Ariana just grins and nods at the suggestions. She gives Ruby a little side hug. From their latest fight, she feels she might already look like an abused slave, but she also messes up her hair. She takes off her sun dress and stuffs it into her pack, and everyone sees the tight-fitting martial arts monk clothes she wears beneath it. More of her battle wounds show, aiding the ruse.
She looks at her quarterstaff and pack. "I suppose someone could hold on to this for me? Perhaps if the opportunity arises, I could even get the quarterstaff back during battle? Oh, and be careful with this," she says about the pack. "Wesley is in there."
"Sure, this could be the nefarious Sanbalets magical staff."Elwyn/Sanbalet says and takes Ariana's stuff for her as soon as he is finished making up Ruby.
"I´ll play a slave. It will look more convicing if they were used to kidnapping kids." She says to Elwyn, letting him help her look more like a beat up slave. Followig Ariana´s lead, Ruby will leave her backpack with the crossbow and shortsword in hands of her friends, but she will try and hide her daggers beneath her clothes. Sleight of Hand: 22
Elwyn - You finish disguising Ruby and she could easily pass for Jet, the male halfling would-be slave that you all freed.
Ruby - Your daggers are cleverly concealed.
All - You are roughly 120ft from the ship. The boat you are in has been tarred black and the sail is dyed black as well. The crewmen of the ship don't seem to be able to see you yet in the darkness.
Elwyn - Silently, Azure circles the ship. Using your action to see what he sees, you spy two crewmembers on deck at this time. One in the Crow's Nest, and the other on the main deck next to the starboard railing squinting in the darkness in an attempt to see the approaching boat. Neither are wielding arms at the moment, but they both carry scimitars and light crossbows on their person.
Wake will wrap himself with his shield in his ample cloak, feigning the warding off of the chill moist sea air. He will also bury his head deep in his hood to obscure his race. He will take a position to be the guardian of the slaves, while the leaders can attend to other business.
Ariana adopts a suitably resigned dead eye stare of hopelessness. Internally, however, her heart is beating quite fast. She closes her eyes and takes a breath, trying to control her nerves.
All - You near the boat and see the crewman on deck signal to the one in the crow's nest. The crewman in the crow's nest climbs down and joins the other on the main deck. You reach the starboard, landward side of the ship and are greeted by a portly human man who lets down a rope ladder to your boat as he says, "Jus' slaves then? What 'appended to the goods we were s'posed to pick up?"

"There has been a slight altering of the plans, now help us up!" Elwyn/Sanbalet says gruffly. Intimidation/Deception/Persuasion/Performance: 24 (rolled with advantage, expecting help from Kulo/Xolo)
Elwyn - The smuggler nods, apparently accepting your explanation and helps you climb aboard. You see the other crewman is a purple-skinned female Tiefling. She stands about 15ft away with a loaded and cocked crossbow in her hands. The human man sees Kulogall and the rest of the procession waiting their turn to climb the rope ladder, "What'cha bringin' the whole crew aboard fer? Are these slaves that troublesome?" He leans over to help the next person climb onto the main deck, but he seems to be getting nervous at the apparent breaches in protocol.
As Wake busies himself, head down, with securing the lines he will mumble a blessing and brush against “Xolo” to confer Guidance for his next ability check. (Good until used, 1 minute or loss of concentration)
"A lot of talking from you. Now get us aboard quickly and I won't have to keelhaul you for insubordination!" Elwyn goes on playing the part of the cruel Sanbalet, trying to buy time for everyone to get aboard.

When Ariana boards the ship, she keeps her head down but her eyes dart around. If anyone should see her face, they'll see sad eyes and a frown. She sees the purple tielfling and shuffles in that general direction but still within reach of Elwyn, maintaining the guise of just following orders in hopes to avoid another beating. She avoids all eye contact but sneaks another look at the quarterstaff Elwyn carries for her.
Deception if necessary (with advantage for the costume and others' role playing; if not granted take the first) 17
Elwyn - The man startles a bit at the threat and says, "Sorry! I was jus' wonderin' is all..." He then sets about helping the rest of the party board the ship. The tiefling crewmember remains silent and watches the proceedings with a twitchy finger on the trigger of her crossbow.
All - You're all able to board the ship without too much trouble. The pudgy man who asks too many questions scratches his head and says, "Oi'll 'ave to go fetch Cap'n Sigurd in regards to the change in plans, only 'e can determine what yer owed. I'll send someone along to fetch the slaves." And he turns to head below deck.
Seeing as everyone is aboard Elwyn/Sanbalet glances over at Kulo/Xolo for the signal to swiftly take the two slavers out, ready to hand Ariana her staff, moving to stand fairly close to her.
Kulogall strides forward and calls down the stairs, seeking to delay, “Captain Sigurd? This is Xolo, I decided to personally accompany this transfer, I want to look at your accounting books, please pull out your last two ledgers. I’ll be down there in just a minute and we will look them over, I want to make sure I’m not being shorted here…”

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
All - The female tiefling crewmember eyes you all as she waits for her ally to fetch the others. When Kulogall heads over to the door the other crewman went through, she raises her crossbow and shouts, "Stop! Get away from there!" If he does not comply, she will fire on him.
This happens before he can open the door or shout his message below. Does he stop?
