This will go to the next round and surely the last rat will die (he only has 3 hp left) so consider them all dead now.
The hallway goes quiet except for Meepo eating one of the rats, he puts the other 2 in his pack for later.
You can just make out another fountain down the hall. The bunch of little rooms where the rats came from are empty and dusty and show no activity other than rat footprints.
"Might wanna pace yourself with those snack little fella, think there's gonna be a lot to go around," Gus says to Meepo, watching him stuff a rat into his mouth.
He picks up his hammer and stows his spar back on his back, then follows Attallia carefully towards the fountain, also taking in his surroundings.
The cobblestone floor contains two trapdoors blocked open by iron spikes. The north wall holds a dry fountain carved with an overarching diving dragon. A faint rotten stench pervades the room. Examining each one reveals a 20-foot-deep pit containing only rat bones, rusted metal bits, and filth. The pits are in front of the entrance and the door to the west which appears to have been opened recently. Getting to it is tricky with the trap door jammed open however. The smell of rotten meat is stronger near that door.
mouth full... "I did find 3 gold pieces in those little empty rooms! Hmm, this fountain reads 'let their be death', that sounds ominous. smells like that has already happened, that's disgusting even by goblin standards..."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Weber moves up to take a closer look at the fountain ((investigation: 12)). “I don’t like the sounds of this inscriptions, perhaps we shouldn’t poke around this one and move on”
"How do you say that in your tongue, Meepo? Worked with the other fountain, might do something helpful here? Oh, or toss one o' them rats into the fountain, see if a dead thing does anything..." Gus talks whilst looking at the fountain.
"What can we do about these pits? Don't much fancy falling down there." He peers carefully over the pit in front of the western door.
The trap doors would have to be unjammed, reset, and then jammed again in the closed position. Not hard, just that it will take at least 2 people working together, some time, and will make a decent amount of noise.
The fountain looks pretty much like the other from what you can see.
tosses a dead rat on the fountain... nothing happens...
"Want me to read the inscription in Draconic like before?"
Durthon nods at the kobold "yes, Meepo, maybe this fountain is listening too." He stops a few steps away from the fountain, using a rag to clean his warhammer of rat remains.

"Ħa jkun hemm il-mewt"
At first nothing happens...then a few drips... and then.... "Run!"
the fountain starts spewing a greenish poison gas!

"Are we all ok? I managed to avoid the worst of the gas but seems some of it still lingers within. Do we need to take a rest before continuing?" Weber sits down on the edge of the fountain, and begins rummaging through his pockets for one of the morsels of food he hid in there.
((Initiative: 20))
Weber conjures a bolt of magical energy in his hand and releases it at one of the rats ((Eldritch Blast: Attack: 24 Damage: 5))
ooc: I will roll for Atillia to get rid of the final injured rat

Atallia moves to the room with the fountain and takes a cautious look around. Investigation: 19

"I do not like this stench but it appears the most logical way to go is through there."

"I don't feel so good.. death indeed.. I don't think I will eat another rat..."
Like the rest of you, he retreats down the hallway back towards the other fountain..
It will take a short rest for the gas to dissipate.
Weber hastily retreats back up the corridor when the fountain starts spewing gas.
((CON save: 7 Damage: 7))
“Looks as like that way is blocked at least for now, hopefully the party we’re looking for weren’t caught in the same trap.”
Gus stumbles backwards after Meepo and Weber, coughing slightly at the gas.
Con save (with advantage for Dwarven Resilience): 21

ooc: I will roll for for Atillia and Durthon and apply damage
Everyone saved so you are only sick for one minute but injured.
You may wait a short rest to let it clear or try another door.

The B door is the door that can be forced but has the inscription about rebuking the dead.
The A door has been used recently and you can see tracks in the dust from many feet. Still closed however and you heard nothing behind it.
The C corridor is where you retreated from.
