"Durnn is the lovely Goblin leader that sent me down here to be eaten. Not known for his calm demeanor, what happened to the young man was unfortunate."
Gus turns back to the bugbear, "You're still alive because we're not down here to kill everyone and everything off, just to get those we're looking for back and then leave. If we can leave this place better off for those that live here in the process, then we will! We'll defend ourselves when attacked, but we've no quarrel with you an' yours, same as with the Kobolds. They saw that we just wanted in an' out and helped us, to get us back out as quickly as possible."
"The goblins we met upstairs saw the same sense. One o' them is away to talk to the leader of the Kobolds to discuss a peace between the two. We hope you'd feel the same. Surely being able to make the most out of your own life down here, with you and the Kobolds having your own spaces and mutually agreeable terms would be better than doin' what a human Druid wants you too, jus' 'cause you're scared o' him would be better?"
"Our path seems to be leadin' us to Belak, so we're gonna have t'deal with him in one way or another. We hope you don't plan on gettin' in our way any further. Maybe y' even want to help rid yourself of him once and f'r all?"
"Considering I am tied up, have a splitting headache, and an ostrich egg growing on the back of my head, I couldn't stop one of those twig things let alone you guys so you will have no trouble from me. My experience with Durnn suggests he will kill us all when we head back up if Belak is defeated. He's not the sharing type if you know what I mean."
After observing him and his speech, it appears he is not from around here or anywhere else you have been. Some sort of accent you can't place.
Erky nods in agreement. Erky walks over and puts his hand on the back of the bugbear's head, chants softly, and after his hand glows a bit, he walks away. The bugbear appears to be much more comfortable and looks completely baffled by what just happened.
“I’ve got no plans to untie him, but happy to leave him in your charge. We should move on this Druid, if luck is on our side we hopefully haven’t raised any alarms yet.” Weber looks to the others anxious to move on.
A rift opens here, its debris-strewn floor two feet below that of the corridor. No phosphorescent fungus grows in the rift. The corridor continues past the rift, though the opening of the rift has caused it to shift 10 feet to the west. A number of two-foot-diameter holes riddle the floor of the rift. The smell of burnt earth hangs in the air.
Gus leans in through the door, peering down the length of the rift beyond that he can see, taking in the strange holes on the floor. "Well... Not sure what I was expectin' t'see behind this door, but this definitely wasn't it."
"We could try the path, find out where it goes, bit I'm not sure I like the smell o'this place."
"Who knows... Gods only know how long ago this even 'appened." Gus tentatively clambers down the 2 foot drop to the rift floor and takes a few steps closer to the nearest hole to get a closer look.
"Not sure what we're gonna find followin' this cavern, but there might be somethin' of use further down the hallway that's split off. Bear in mind that we still need to find the Druid, and he's clearly not in this direction by the wear on the other door back there."
"Well, if there is no one here we can close the door behind us and check the most used one" says Durthon, going back to the main room and putting an ear to the door that has seen traffic, ready to tell his companions if there is noise to be heard from the other side.

"I don't think we'll have any more trouble from him, I can watch him if you want."
“I’ve got no plans to untie him, but happy to leave him in your charge. We should move on this Druid, if luck is on our side we hopefully haven’t raised any alarms yet.” Weber looks to the others anxious to move on.
"Aye, think you're right there. Sooner we get to Belak, the better." Gus nods at Weber.
"If you're happy to watch 'im, we'll leave you to keep watch, Erky." he says to the gnome.
Gus checks to make sure that his pack is secured and his equipment is all ready.
"Ready to go when you are!" He says to his companions.
Door B has seen a lot of foot traffic while door A does not appear to have been used for years.
Durthon stands guard, waiting for one of his more competent companions to take a look at the door lock before moving forward.
Perception: 20
None of the doors appear to be locked.
"Should we quickly check this door that looks unused? May be something useful there?" Gus says, approaching door A carefully.
"Or should we just take the path clearly more travelled?"
"I say the unused door first" Durthon replies "finding a storage room will ease my mind."

"We could try the path, find out where it goes, bit I'm not sure I like the smell o'this place."
Weber stops to have a look at the holes in the ground (do they look man made, or more a result of the rift)
”What on earth would cause the ground to shift like this? There wasn’t any sign of this kind of movement on the surface was there?”
“do we follow the rift or head up that path” He points up towards the entrance that should have been attached to where they were.
No signs of movement or anything disturbing the area you can see. The holes appear to be naturally occurring and also show no signs of disturbance.
Bear in mind that we still need to find the Druid, and he's clearly not in this direction by the wear on the other door back there."
turned off that ugly grid
Weber hops down into the rift with Gus taking a look at the floor for any signs of movement

No signs of movement, doesn't look like anyone has come through here for years...
