This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Effulgyn descends the ladder or stairs, or slides carefully down the rope with his lantern in one hand. He listens and sniffs the air. (Perception: 11)
Arcis the first to jump into the hole--and it really is just that except, on one side, tucked just out of sight from above, there is another roughly hewn hole leading into what appears to be a tunnel. With his darkvision Arc can see that the tunnel is about 5 feet tall and almost as wide, and is being reinforced by large slabs of fresh looking wood.
Effulgynjumps into the hole and despite being quite small in stature, it is clear that having more than two people in this makeshift antichamber would be quite uncomfortable. In other words, a third would not be able to jump in unless one of you were to enter the tunnel.

"See anything?" Fin calls down. The urge to strike up a torch is tempting, but a storage hole would be a waste of the light when his friends could see just fine.

Ferg instructs Parson to follow if they go down the tunnel. "How far does it go? I'm in for a penny in for a pound at this point. I'll follow if we decide to go explore."
Effulgynwaits for a moment to hear an answer to his question but finds none before Parsonflies into the tunnel overhead. For a moment, Ferg sees nothing but dark walls of the tunnel through Parson's eyes. But then, torch light just in the distance, and guttural, humanoid sounds that seem quite annoyed. It's too far away for Parson to communicate it to Ferg, but Effulgynand Arccan hear it quite clearly call out:
"Alright alright, bit early now?"

Arc seeing the goblin (presuming the goblin sees him too) says "Oh" in a surprised voice. "Sorry about barging in, and all. If you don't mind, we can show ourselves out." He gives a quick glace behind him and prepares for the goblin's reaction.
Effulgynis in the tunnel, with Arcstill in the antechamber when Parsoninitially sees the Goblin. Finand Ferg are on land above near the door, peering down. Ashis near Asterix, squinting into the field but not really getting what is going on.
Parsonhas been deployed and is about 80 feet down the tunnel before he sees the Goblin and the Goblin sees him.
Arcenters the tunnel right behind Effulgyn and because he is much taller he is able to see the Goblin at the same time as Effulgyn. The Goblin, then, sees an owl and then a halfling and a half elf in the tunnel. "I didn't know you had an owl" he starts to say, but trails off upon seeing the two figures approaching in the tunnel. He has already started to retreat back down the tunnel when Arcapologizes for barging in.

Effulgyn steps under the hole and cocks back his head, squinting up at Ferg. “Looks like we’ve trespassed in a goblin tunnel. The Goblin was expecting company, but apparently, not us.”
Through Parson'seyes, Ferg sees that the Goblin has turned and is sprinting back down the cave from whence he came, presumably to alert others of the intruders.

Ferg let's the other know what seems to be happening. "It looks like our Goblin friend is going for help. Do we want to jump in and risk the danger or should we close things up and move on?" He looks at the others to asses the situation. "I remember M.o.M. telling is to not go into the wild or we would be at risk. She said to take a direct route. I'm thinking we need to shut things up and get out of here." He calls Parson back and if those in the hole agree he helps the out. "We may even want to hide soon"
Arc nods his head and moves back up and out of the hole. Just before the door to the tunnel is shut he programs a rock (1A) with a message (Artificer skill). When someone approaches, in the tunnel, within 5 feet of it, it will randomly shout "STOP" or "Go BACK".

Effulgyn opens his lantern hood and steps into the tunnel, beaming light down its length and checking the floor, ceiling and walls within view.
“Hello!,” he shouts rather tentatively. “Is there anyone down here?”

Effulgyn's locks eyes with Arc for a moment, dumbfounded, then stage whispers over his shoulder to the others behind, "Someone's in here!"
He freezes but warily keeps his lamp focused where it was, so that if someone or something comes into the tunnel it will be illuminated.
