Seeing that dog is now okay, and that Caine had failed to find anything, Jim decides that he will have a look around to see if he find any clues that might suggest signs of hidden traps or secret doors.

Jim carefully steps through the door and peers up the stairs, making sure that way is clear. Then he will turn back to the others.
"Shall we head on up those stairs now, or shall we check around on this floor first? Either way, I have a feeling we will have to make our way up there sooner or later."

Razi nods in agreement to Caine’s suggestion. What does it look like we have on this floor? Bedrooms?

Razi goes to check if the door to the balcony opens and if it can be accessed. What does it look outside? Can he get a better view of the village from up here?

"Yes," Razi replies to Jim. "I am no expert in the arcane, but if I had to guess, I'd wager this entire home is soaked in Illusion magic." He looks back at the dirt outside. "The other possibilities are... less desirable to think about."
He looks at some of the decor. "Does this floor seem more dilapidated then the lower floors? The den and dance hall were well kept and clean. Here..." he looks at the rotted tiger rug. "... It looks like its abandoned and been left to rot?"

Caine's smile broadens as he examines the jewelry box and it's contents.
"Not bad. Not bad at all," he says with a whistle. "I can hang on to these for safe keeping. If we don't find the kids or their parents then I think we should definitely be getting something in exchange for the trouble we've faced here."
He looks around the room a little more, and does his best not to look out onto the balcony too much. Thinking about that too much can't lead to anything good.
"Next room?"
If the others are ready, Caine will leave this large bedroom and go back to the hallway and try the next door.
Razi will follow Caine's lead. Moving to the next room, he will stoop to pet the dog. "How did you get trapped in here, buddy? Do you know the way out? Who's a good doggy?"

Caine looks around the hallway.
”I don’t like not knowing what’s at my back. Why don’t we do a quick search of what’s on this floor then head up to the creepy as shite attic.”
Caine then opens the closest door and takes a look inside.
Razi nods in agreement to Caine’s suggestion. What does it look like we have on this floor? Bedrooms?

While Razi investigates the door to the balcony, Caine checks out the door with the mirror on it, opening it and taking a look at what's behind.
Jim nods his head in response to Caine, "Fair point."
He looks down at the little dog as he steps over next to Razi. He frowns as he looks outside the door.
"That's strange, we definitely came upstairs not down, right?"

Caine jumps back as the rat scurries by. He takes a half hearted kick at it but not enough to actually try and hit it.
"Guess the dead aren't great housekeepers," Caine says as he steps away from the closet and looks around the room again.
His eyes light up when they come to rest on the jewelry box.
"What do we have here?" Caine says as he steps across the room to the vanity.
Caine looks at the box for a moment then flips it open and takes a look inside.

Avoiding the dog, still suspecting it's a werewolf or something else equally horrible in disguise, Caine does a quick scan of the bathroom.

If he finds nothing of interest, he'll move on to the next door and take a look inside.
Jim looks around at everyone searching the different rooms, and then looks at one of the doors, "Wait, did we check this room already?"
He looks the door over, before stepping over to it. He then slowly and carefully opens it.
