"Blimey! You managed to take care of that thing rather quickly."
When Caine starts talking about which direction to go, Jim thinks for a moment.
"Are you sure we don't want to see if there is anything worthwhile down here? I get the feeling that we won't be able to search the place later, and we've found a couple of useful items already. Plus we might be able to discover what happened to the baby."

"Sorry, I thought you were a thief mate, a rogue," Jim responds. "When is there not any danger? Besides, we've taken a rest now, and I'm certainly feeling better. Now that we've dealt with the children, let's rob the bastard fool that did all of this.

While the rogues plot a course for adventure, Razi investigates the strange monster that attacked them. He has never seen anything like it before and wants to determine if it is a natural lifeform, or some dark denizen of the lower planes. (Rolling 2 his modifiers for History, Investigation, Nature, Arcana are all -1.)

Caine raises an eyebrow at Sleet before turning back to Jim with his hands out.
"Don't think we should split up at this point," Caine says. "Show of hands. Who wants to do a circuit of this floor first before going down? Who just wants to go down?"
"We should explore all we can before going down to the subbasement," says Nelyna, her curiosity getting the better of her. "There's no telling what we'll find, and we might even find the remains of the baby."
Caine has no interest in finding more skeletons and whatever ghosts might be lingering near them. Being possessed by the spirit of a baby had to be even worse than having Thorn in his head. But, he can buy into the argument for searching this floor first and maybe picking up some loot for their troubles.
"Fair enough," Caine says. "I'll let you and Razi handle the noble treatment of the dead. I'm on board with Jim's views. A few extra coins in our pockets wouldn't be a crime. We were trapped here against our wishes and from the looks of this place, we weren't the first ones."
Caine heads back through the room their in, past the crypts and to the passage to the north.

"Well, I'm not sure if splitting up that's not what I meant,"Jim responds.
Then when Caine begins making his way out telling the others to remain behind, Jim lets out an exasperated sigh. Before attempting to follow Cain quietly.

Caine looks back at Jim moving quietly behind him. He pauses in his own movements for a bit as he watches the other rogue step gingerly.
"I don't think we're communicating well," Caine says to Jim in his normal voice. "I agree. All stick together. Everyone come this way. The noble members of our group can do this to make sure the dead are peaceful. We can do this to line our pockets. Regardless of motive, lets keep going."
Caine then looks back into what must have been some sort of dorm room.
"Don't know about you, but this chanting is creeping the hell out of me," Caine says. Then he points at the moldy beds. "I'm not checking those out. Whole beds are likely to rise up and give me a big hug."
Having no desire to be left behind, Nelyna speed walks after Caine and Jim. "No, no, no, splitting up is a bad idea," she exclaims breathlessly. "This house has tried to kill us so many times already I've lost count."
Nelyna studies the room they've entered. It looks like some sort of servants' quarters, nothing very interesting.
Razi has no interest in searching the bunk room, and would probably do a poor job of it anyway. He is ready to follow on to the next location as soon as the group leaves.

Nelyna follows the men, staying particularly close to Razi. It's not that she doesn't like or trust the two rogues, but she feels a bit better knowing they have someone like Razi in the group, someone who seems to have experience fighting evil before.
Caine eyes the cistern with suspicion, expecting to see tentacles or claws come out of it at any second.
Making sure to keep his lamp lit, and lighting any others they come across, Caine moves over to the first side room. The lure of a locked chest is too much to ignore.
"May get a payday out of this yet, Jim," Caine says as he cracks his fingers and pulls out the folded leather case holding his thieves tools.
Caine kneels down by the first chest, quickly looking for any sign of traps before setting to work on unlocking the padlock.

Caine listens to Jim and takes a breath.
"It's on you then if I die down here," Caine says with a smile. "North then? Circle around and save the pit of despair below til the end?"

"Maybe," Jim says. Then he uses his knowledge of arcane to see if there any symbols left on it indicating a spell of some sort.
