Nelyna carefully enters the room. Gingerly, she approaches the trap door set into the floor and examines it to see if it is locked. She scans the room, looking for the source of the muttered prayers.

Caine raises both eyebrows when Sleet turns on the trapdoor and chains.
"Easy big man," Caine says. "If this place was holding out against werewolves and the nighttime nasties around this village, then maybe whoever's down there, might deserve to be down there. We should at least think about that."
Caine calls down to where the screams and prayers were coming from.
"Don't mind the attacks on the chain and door," Caine says loudly. "Mind telling us who's down there?"
Whilst Sleet beings trying to break his way through the trap door, Jim decides to take a step back for a moment. He thinks back at the house and remembers that not everything was at first what it seemed.
"You know, I am beginning to suspect that this is not such a good idea. Maybe we should go and find out why a church is keeping some down in what I can only assume is the crypt of this church? Did we not just find out that this place is ruled by a vampire? Vampires are undead creatures, and where do we put dead people? In crypts!"

"Maybe he'll tucker himself out," Caine says, nodding at Sleet and his assault on the door. Then he calls loudly to Sleet to be overheard above the smashing. "Let us know when you're done there, big man."
Razi casually pokes his head out and looks down the main hall of the church to see if their activities have drawn any attention.
He places a hand on the wall and sends a non-denominational prayer out into the building - Whoever watches over and lays claim to this holy place... we mean well, I swear!

Caine feels the resistance on the trapdoor and tugs as hard as he can.
Strength Check: 8
When his hands slip off the chains, he does his best to make it look like he did that on purpose. He taps Sleet on the arm and waves down at the trapdoor.
"Have at it, big man," Caine says to Sleet. "Give it all you've got."
Nelyna waits for the others to descend first. She is most comfortable toward the back, out of range of melee attacks, unless something were to sneak up behind. She shivers at the thought.

Caine looks over at Jim and shrugs.
"Maybe he'll tucker himself out," Caine says, nodding at Sleet and his assault on the door. Then he calls loudly to Sleet to be overheard above the smashing. "Let us know when you're done there, big man."
"Hmm, guess it wasn't locked.... well that's embarrassing..."
Caine comes forward and pats Sleet on the back.
"Happens to everyone," Caine says. "Now that the element of surprise has been dealt with, let's take a look."
Caine reaches down, grabs the chain and handle and pulls open the trapdoor.
"So it wasn't locked?" Jim asks. Then he shrugs his shoulders. "I guess we've got nothing to worry about then."
